Droganvändning bland barn och unga : Orsaker till barn och ungas droganvändning / Droguse Among Children and Adolescents : Reasons for Childrens' and Adolescents' Drug Use

Hashemi, Jawid January 2022 (has links)
The purpose of this survey was to examine motives for adolescents' drug use. This study is a scoping study based on peer-reviewed, scientific articles. The data was collected by using diverse word combinations, filters and search words in different databases to find relevant articles to answer the question formulations. A total of 33 articles were used to answer the question formulations. The conclusion in the studie is that there are many reasons why youths use drugs. Biological factors such as social disability, susceptibility to stress and mental illness seem to be linked to adolescents’ drug debut. Home and social environment also has an effect on adolescents’ drug abuse. There is a strong link between parents’ and siblings’ drug abuse and childrens’ drug abuse. Furthermore, young people who socialize themselves with drug users tend to initiate drug abuse themselves due to their deviant peer groups. The results also show that adolescents have their own motives for why they use drugs. Many adolescents use drugs for belonging, coping, pleasure, creativity and aggression. There are also gender differences in young people’s drug use. Boys tend to, to a greater extent than girls, take drugs for recreational reasons, social factors and to increase positive emotions. Girls tend to use drugs to manage their physical needs, coping and reduce negative emotions.
