Automatic signature verification system

Malladi, Raghuram January 2013 (has links)
Philosophiae Doctor - PhD / In this thesis, we explore dynamic signature verification systems. Unlike other signature models, we use genuine signatures in this project as they are more appropriate in real world applications. Signature verification systems are typical examples of biometric devices that use physical and behavioral characteristics to verify that a person really is who he or she claims to be. Other popular biometric examples include fingerprint scanners and hand geometry devices. Hand written signatures have been used for some time to endorse financial transactions and legal contracts although little or no verification of signatures is done. This sets it apart from the other biometrics as it is well accepted method of authentication. Until more recently, only hidden Markov models were used for model construction. Ongoing research on signature verification has revealed that more accurate results can be achieved by combining results of multiple models. We also proposed to use combinations of multiple single variate models instead of single multi variate models which are currently being adapted by many systems. Apart from these, the proposed system is an attractive way for making financial transactions more secure and authenticate electronic documents as it can be easily integrated into existing transaction procedures and electronic communications

Společnost bez hotovosti / Cashless society

Mucha, Petr January 2015 (has links)
This thesis is aimed at cashless payments which have recently gained worldwide significance. Cash is being gradually phased-out by card transactions and mobile payments via non-bank provider of payment services. A question arises of what would happen if cash would disappear in its entirety and we would find ourselves in a "cashless society". This topic which at first glance appears to be utopian is the subject of this thesis. The first part compares the market of cashless payments in the Czech Republic and in northern Europe (which is amongst the most developed), in particular with regard to the use of cards and mobile payments. The second part is concerned with the phenomenon of shadow economy and the influence of cashless payments on its volume. Concrete recommendations for the Czech economy are also the part of this chapter. The final part hits the essence of the issue and deals with concrete pros and cons of going cashless. The chapter is systematically divided into three parts - security, cost-benefit analysis and legal aspects.

Formy zadávání a zpracování textových dat a informací v podnikových IS - trendy a aktuální praxe / Forms of text data input and processing in business information systems - trends and current practices

Válková, Jana January 2011 (has links)
This thesis introduces readers to the basic types of the text and information inputs and processing to the computer. Thesis also includes historical contexts, current trends and future perspective of computer data input technologies and their use in practice. The first part of the thesis is a summary of a particular forms of entering and processing of the text data and information. The following part presents technological trends on the market concentrated on the automatic speech recognition systems along with the possibilities of their application in the business sphere. The rest of the thesis consists of a survey between Czech IT companies and based on it's results comes a suggestion of which technologies should be used as a part of the information systems.

Rozpoznání oděvu osob v obrazovém signálu / Recognition of persons clothing in the video signal

Mlýnková, Barbora January 2017 (has links)
This paper is dealing with the detection clothes characteristics in the picture, for the use of person identification. These characteristics are described and categorized. It also deals with the design of the database structure, which works with masks and categories of characteristics for their processing. This work uses haar cascades to detect face and to determine the position of clothing for the purpose of color detection

Řízení polohovatelné platformy pro vystředění oka v obrazu / Control of Positionable Platform for Eye Centering in Image

Magdolen, Patrik January 2018 (has links)
Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine that deals with the anatomy, physiology and diseases of the eyeball and orbit. An ophthalmic device for the acquirement and recognition of a human eye characteristics was created by researchers from Faculty of Information Technology. This device can be used either for biometric purposes or for medical purposes as a support diagnostic device. To achieve proper functionality, device must be able to adjust platform position in order to align optic camera with patient's eye.  The main focus of this thesis is to design and implement an algorithm for eye centre localisation based on images of the patient's face. The first part of this thesis describes general methods for eye localisation and proposed solution. To achieve requested accuracy, combination of multiple methods is used with adjusted parameters based on platform's features. The second part describes implementation of proposed solution as well as platform control. Multiple databases were used for training and testing of the algorithm. The third part summarises performed experiments. The proposed algorithm was implemented in the C++ language, using OpenCV library. Accuracy and speed of proposed algorithm are suitable for developed platform. In the end, the results are discussed and further improvements are proposed.

System for Recognition of 3D Hand Geometry / System for Recognition of 3D Hand Geometry

Svoboda, Jan January 2014 (has links)

Zpracování otisků prstů / Processing of fingerprints

Kazík, Martin January 2011 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the identification of persons by their fingerprints. In the beginning, there is a brief overview of biometric methods. The issue of fingerprints and their automatic processing is very extensive and addresses a large amount of literature. This work describes the various stages processing fingerprints from receiving a fingerprint scan through the methods of enhancing fingerprint, binarization, the detection of minutiae to compare two fingerprints. After a short introduction of biometric techniques is briefly introduced the history of fingerprints as an instrument for identification of persons. Subsequently, there is the description of problems of obtaining fingerprints from older methods that require the transmission medium, to methods of obtaining fingerprints directly into a digital format. There are described basic principles of sensors and the principle of their function. Next part deals with methods of processing digital fingerprint images. These are methods for fingerprint image enhancement, methods for image thresholding, thinning of ridge lines, detection of global and local characteristics of the fingerprint. The next section introduces the basic methods of comparison and classification of fingerprints. The practical part describes the specific implementation of fingerprint processing chain. For each processing stage is implemented one selected method. The result is an application that allows displaying the output of each phase, the comparison of fingerprints 1:1 and also finds a fingerprint in the database, by comparing one fingerprint with many.
