Campos de invisibilidade / Invisibility Fields

Bueno, Cláudio Pereira 10 April 2015 (has links)
Invisibility Fields is a theoretical and practical study addressing notions of the invisible in contemporary art mainly based on artistic productions made between the second half of the 20th century and the present day. The conceptual practices developed in the 1960s and 1970s, at the national and international levels, as well as their earlier influences, are taken as a starting point. These practices lead to reflections on the dematerialization of the art object, the discussion of art as strictly visual apprehension, and the inclusion of the participant in the works. Other artists and architects are also analyzed with the aim of verifying the invisible in the relationships between body, architecture and technology. These issues are discussed in conjunction with a series of artistic projects carried out by the author of the thesis, serving as opening keys for the studies. As for the theoretical perspective, dialogues are held with philosopher Merleau-Ponty in The Visible and the Invisible (2012) and artist and philosopher Anne Cauquelin in Attending the Incorporeal (2008). This thesis is thus divided into four chapters: The Invisible as a Field, Always Something between Us, Invisible Architectures and \"A Light Illuminates Everything/ But There Must Be More\". From this angle, the invisible is explored as a relational, poetic, critical, sensitive, political and social field. Given the references studied, these fields emerge as something that modulates the relationship between people and spaces.

Faciès, architecture et dynamique d’un système margino-littoral tidal : exemple de la Formation du Dur At Talah (Eocène supérieur, Bassin de Syrte, Libye) / Facies, architecture and dynamics of a tidal nearshore system : example of the Dur At Talah Formation (Upper Eocene, Sirt Basin, Libya)

Pelletier, Jonathan 30 October 2012 (has links)
This manuscript provides the first exhaustive sedimentological study of the Dur At Talah escarpment (≈120 m high and ≈150 km length). This latter is exposed in the Abu Tumayam Trough, in the southern Sirt Basin (Libya). The Dur At Talah Formation forms a 2nd order regressive sequence, from shallow marine to fluviatile deposits, dated as upper Eocene. This exceptional outcrop allows an extensive and detailed sedimentological analysis (lithofaciès, ichnofaciès, geometries and sequence stratigraphy) leading to a multi-scale characterization of nearshore to paralic environments dominated by tidal dynamic. Among outstanding results, two sedimentary processes have been recognized and characterized: the progradation is expressed by large-scale clinoform structures and the lateral accretion is characterized by inclined heterolithic stratifications (IHS). Several sedimentary bodies are, thus, unequivocally distinguishable such as heterolithic mouth-bars and tidal channel point-bars. Thorough analysis of these sedimentary bodies allows to define diagnostic criteria to recognize them. They can be replaced in a consistent stratigraphic framework explaining their architecture and their vertical evolution in order to be used as reservoir analog.
