POEMI SACRI NEL DUCATO DI MILANO / Sacred Poems in the Duchy of Milan

SAMARINI, FRANCESCO 04 April 2016 (has links)
The so-called “sacred poem” was one of the most successful genres of the Italian literature between the 16th and the 18th century, but the works belonging to this category have usually been ignored by critics. My research aims at studying a limited part of this enormous literary production, considering the vernacular poems published in the Duchy of Milan between 1566 and 1706. On the basis of a meticulous analysis of the texts, often scarcely studied or completely unknown, I intend to determine the features of the sacred epic in the Milanese environment, which was strongly influenced by the cultural policy promoted by Carlo and Federico Borromeo. The authors of the poems are Sisto Poncello, Giovanni Maria Paroli, Cesare Della Porta, Ettore Colombo, Annibale Guasco, Giacomo Turamini, Antonio da Brugnato, Bernardino Baldi, Antonio Biaguazzone, Giulio Fe', Lelio Guidiccioni, Ambrogio Ferro, Francesco Antonio Tomasi, Francesco Pallavicini, Stefano Rossi, Giacinto Faggi, Giuseppe De Maltraversi, Pietro Paolo Giletti, Alessandro Ghirardelli, Basilio Bertucci.

Kongregace Milosrdných sester sv. Karla Boromejského v období 1945 - 1989 s přihlédnutím k Praze / The congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo in the period of 1945 - 1989 with regard to Prague

Kaftanová, Ilona January 2013 (has links)
This thesis describes the formation of religious communities (orders, congregations) and their development in the world and in our country. They are described with a view to their charitable activities. It further deals with the persecution of the church in general and the persecution and the life of the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo with regard to Prague in the period of 1945-1989. This section is divided into six particular periods according to the importance of the influence of the state on the activities of the church and the Congregation. Each of these periods is divided into two parts. The first part illustrates the development of the relationship between the state and the church generally. The second part describes the relationship between the state and womens` orders and with the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo in particular. The thesis utilizes relevant literature and archives. Archival documents come from the National Archives in Prague, mostly from the funds of the State Agency for Religious Affairs, the Military Historical Archives and the archives of the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo in Prague. The thesis is closed with some thoughts of the role of religious communities in today's world. Key words...

Entre  renascimento e barroco: os fundamentos da arquitetura religiosa e a contrarreforma - o De Fabrica Ecclesiae de Carlos Borromeu / Between Renaissance and Baroque: the Religious Architecture Fundamentals and Protestant Reformation - o De Fabrica Ecclesiae Carlos Borromeo

Frade, Gabriel dos Santos 09 December 2016 (has links)
The religious architecture of the Renaissance period presented creations buoyed by growing up theoretical reflection in this period, through elaborations of architecture treaties. In the troubled historical context of the early modern age, religious issues involving the contestation of Protestantism and the reaction of Protestant Reformation by the Catholic Church, particularly through the flagship event of the Council of Trent (1545-1563), brought influences in the figurative arts of this period. In the field of religious architecture, the influence is also felt. Charles Borromeo (1538-1584), archbishop of Milan, exponent of Protestant Reformation though, produces that which is considered the only work of this field of ideas with regard to religious architecture, it is their Instructionum Fabricae et Supellectilis Ecclesiasticae libri duo (1577), also known as De Fabrica Ecclesiae. Through the action of his trusted architect Pellegrino Tibaldi (1527-1596), the Borromeo introduces a comprehensive transformation program in architectonic space, focusing on functional aspects of the service decorum, corresponding largely to the ideas postulated by Tridentine. This work aims to inform this Borromean text through an unpublished translation of the original Latin text into Portuguese language.

TRA PALLADE E BACCO. PROFILO ISTITUZIONALE E ASPIRAZIONI UMANISTICHE NELLE ACCADEMIE LETTERARIE MILANESI DURANTE IL PERIODO SPAGNOLO (1548-1715)

CORSI, ALESSANDRO 28 February 2019 (has links)
By adopting a long-term period chronological perspective, this research analyses the institutional frameworks’ development of Milanese literary academies between their appearance in the city area and the beginning of Austrian government’s jurisdiction after the Peace of Utrecht. Key objectives of the phenomenon’s historical reconstruction are: the identification of patrons who promoted the academies’ dissemination; the description of associational networks made up by different intellectual elite groups operating in Milan; the contextualization of cultural projects - and resulting under covered political tensions - that influenced the academical pattern’s expansion process; finally, the gradual constitution of a peculiar Ambrosian identity related with this associations’ typology. The exegesis of the “Badia della Val di Blenio” academy’s literary production, deduced by the historical examine of the “Facchino” Cosme de Aldana’s bio-bibliographical experience, introduces the enquiry on students’ academical foundations, which were the result of the cooperation between the archiepiscopal curia, religious orders involved in the educational programs and representative bodies of Milanese patricians. Archival discoveries on Inquieti’s meetings contribute in depicting the progressive composition of a coherent Ambrosian “system of virtues” (the baroque reference point for academical activities), that got into a substantial crisis at the end of seventeenth century.
