Synthesis of mechanically interlocked oligomacrocyclic systems

Kroll, Marius Matthias January 2011 (has links)
This thesis presents a modular palladium(II) template-directed synthetic strategy towards mechanically interlocked polymacrocyclic architectures, such as a Borromean link and linear [n]-catenanes. Central to the synthetic strategy is the use of the Huisgen-Meldal-Sharpless Cu(I)-catalysed 1,3-cycloaddition of azides to terminal alkynes (CuAAC) as a ring-closure procedure between complementary pairs of building blocks. The amalgamation of the palladium(II) [3+1]-template and CuAAC reaction is without methodological precedent and represents both an efficient and versatile procedure for the construction of interlocked architectures. Thematically, this thesis consists of three parts arranged in chronological order. Beginning with the synthesis towards a Borromean link, where the first successful palladium(II) template-directed double CuAAC ring-closure is documented. This is followed by the application of the “double-click” strategy to form a [3]catenane - the first such structure generated using metal ions other than Cu(I). Finally, the development of a modular CuAAC building block library is described, which was used to construct a [2]catenane and [3]catenane as well as later developments towards higher oligocatenanes.

L’improvisation dramatique, étude clinique et psychanalytique d’ateliers théâtre en structures de soin / The dramatic improvisation, the clinical and psychoanalytical trial of studios theater in structures of care

Vandevelde - Pouliquen, Béatrice Anne Sabine 14 September 2016 (has links)
During the 21st century, a clinical psychologist decides to offer to her patients a theatre stage as an exhibition space for their unconscious. She notes a paradox : drama, which has to do with madness, would have therapeutic properties. Thus can be synthesized the plot of this three-act PhD thesis, whose main characters are patients, mostly psychotic ones needing to undergo psychotherapy, and an insane artist, also great man of the Theatre: Antonin Artaud.Through presenting role-plays as raw expression of the unconscious, this thesis shows how its author’s thinking unfolds. It first draws on the genesis of a singular mediation: theatrical improvisation. Then, inspired by A. Artaud’s emblematic case and through psychoanalysis, it explores the mechanisms involved during theatrical workshops and their effects on the patients who became actors. Lastly, by following the path of the borromean node, it concludes that theatrical improvisation, which is deeply inscribed in the Real, which summons the Imaginary and introduces the Symbolic, emerges as a sinthomatic activity.

L'écran de Charon : la traversée du sujet de langage dans la narration cinématographique / The screen of Charon : the crossing of the subject of language in the cinematographic narrative / A Tela de Caronte : Travessia do Sujeito de Linguagem na Narrativa Cinematográfica

Puccinelli, Maysa 10 August 2017 (has links)
This extended summary originates from the thesis "The screen of Charon: the crossing of the subject of language in the cinematographic narrative" carried out under collaboration between the universities of Brasília, Brazil, and Nice Sophia Antipolis, Fance. It is a synthesis of psychoanalytic investigation concerning two narrative styles: modern and classical. First and foremost, they are concerned with film production. In this report we discuss the issue of pleasure from the amalgam formed by the French words “jeu” (game, play) and “jouissance” (the act of experiencing pleasure). Thus, our “mot-valise” "jeuïssance" (“playsure”) will allow us to articulate the experience of pleasure undergone by the subject of language with the narrative production. The categories created in the Lacanian Triskel will be evoked, namely: the pleasure of the Other, the pleasure of meaning and the pleasure of the Phallic. They are articulated on a borromean logic with modern, classical and classical-industrial narrative productions. By creating our triskel, we identify, in the figure of the trompe-l'oeil, the function of the small object as the narrative field. By crossing the lacanian inferos, we believe to have found in the figure of “playsure” a device for analyzing narration, composed exclusively of psychoanalytic material. Thus, in any narrative production of a subject of language, narratives are either buried in the supposed firm land of science or religion or in the moving sands of the arts. This psychoanalytic journey will take us far beyond the principle of pleasure.

The clinical structures in the work of Jacques Lacan: intertwinements of the real, symbolic and imaginary?

Boni Junior, Jonas de Oliveira 04 February 2019 (has links)
The present work deals with the questions related to the notion of structure in the theoretical scope of the psychoanalysis of Jacques Lacan (1901-1981), specifically on the object of study defined as clinical structures, according to the classic neurosis, perversion and psychosis division. The question that guided the research was: How to define the notion of clinical structures in the Lacanian work? In view of the hypothesis of theoretical permanence of the structural set in Lacan\'s work, the aim of this thesis was to define the clinical structures by means of the correlation of such sets with the three registers Real, Symbolic and Imaginary (RSI) and their topological writings by the possible intertwinement of the Borromean knot. The proposed method is structured in four chapters: (1) Analysis of epistemological edges to the concept of structure in Lacan, from the structuralism, with Linguistics with Ferdinand de Saussure (1857-1913) and Roman O. Jakobson (1896-1982), anthropology with Claude Lévi-Strauss (1908-2009) and logics and mathematics with Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC), Gottlob Frege (1848-1925) as well as General topology; (2) Proposal of the concept of clinical structures, from the three main theories of the constitution of the subject in Lacan, theory of the mirror stage (1949 1964), theory of the Oedipus complex (1950-1970) and theory of alienation (1964-1970), from which it is possible to extract the indications of three registers RSI; (3) The development of main operations - Bejahung and Verwerfung - on the inscription in the field of language and their returning effects on specific structural operators to each set, such as in the division being, subject and I in the assembly of the structure by the signifier cutting; (4) Consideration of the particular arrangements defined as neurosis - the effect in the symbolic support to the signifier, perversion - position of the imaginary object covering and, psychosis - the imaginary function of edge for the Real. Therefore, the thesis defended is based on a structural proposition of subjectivity by the articulation of fundamental operations of inscription in the field of language, and of specific operators in the tying of the three RSI registers, written in the intertwinements of the Node-Borromeo RSI, that are updated under transfer while diagnostic hypothesis in the particularity of a treatment

Instead of settling on a clinical case to develop the theme, we chose a cut of culture, the play A Falecida by Nelson Rodrigues: the modes of jouissance in the pain of existence. Thus, we maintain ethical confidentiality of clinics and use a contemporary psychoanalysis feature as a way to articulate the psychoanalytic theories of Sigmund Freud (1856-1939) and Jacques Lacan (1901-1981). We begin with a historical context of both Nelson Rodrigues life, a famous brazilian playwriter, and the time when the play was written, as well as the literary school to which he belongs. As a background context to the discussions on the eyes of psychoanalysis, we make the question: what would be the mode of jouissance of Zulmira, main character of A Falecida (1953/1985), whose life project is a fantastic funeral wake? Then we address to the issue of the tragedy. We selected Antigone (2009) by Sophocles and articulated some contemporary authors with what Lacan elaborates on this theme in Le séminaire, Livre VII, L'éthique de la psychanalyse (1959 1960), we make a counterpoint between Antigone and Zulmira characters from Mourning and Melancholia (1915) by Freud. In the next chapter, we discuss Le séminaire, Livre XX, Encore (1972-1973), at which Lacan changes his clinic while talking about jouissance féminine. Thus, we discuss Lacan quotes la femme n existe pas and il n y a pas de rapport sexuel , when he discussed the pás-tout emphasizing the idea of non-complementarity between beings. Following, we chose three authors who write about characters of Nelson Rodrigues and we take as reference Le séminaire, Livre XX, Encore, and then we move on to a study of the work chosen from this reference. In the fourth and final chapter, we come to the core of our research while reading through Le Séminaire, Livre XXII R.S.I. (1974-1975) and Le Séminaire, Livre XXIII Le Sinthome (1975-1976), when Lacan describes the Borromean knot between real, symbolic and imaginary, adding a 4th node, holding the other three together, as a symptom of the subject. So, we discussed the possible modes of jouissance, through inhibition, symptom, and anxiety, and hypothesized the melancholic inhibition as a possible mode of jouissance of Zulmira / Esse trabalho partiu de interrogações clínicas.

As psicoses ordinárias e suas invenções / The ordinary psychosis and his inventions

This dissertation is proposed to investigate the common psychoses and their inventions. / The enigma to the paradigm : psycholysis is not homofobic

Rodríguez Diéguez, María Paz 20 January 2015 (has links)
This investigation aims to respond to the critiques certain authors of queer theory have addressed to Lacanian theory, namely the accusation of homophobia. At the end of his teaching, Lacan recognized « There is no sexual relation »; and with this aphorism, he opened the door to a new paradigm oriented by the real: jouissance that aims at the impossible of the sexual relation. This substitutive jouissance, as Jacques-Alain Miller named it, doesn’t distinguish between neurosis and perversion. This new reading which goes beyond the structural clinic springs from the Borromean knot, in other words, that which holds the symbolic, real, and imaginary registers of desire and jouissance together. We purport to overcome the Oedipus complex by way of the very last Lacanian teaching. In order to do so, we revisited Freud’s extremely well-known case of the “young homosexual woman”, starting from new historical elements published in her biography entitled, Sidonie Csillag: Jeune Homosexuelle chez Freud, lesbienne dans le siècle. We will regard homosexuality from another angle thanks to the new Borromean conception. Our goal shall be to find the convergences between this new Borromean paradigm of psychoanalysis and Queer theory.

A estabilização psicótica e o sinthoma joyciano: um nó, uma invenção / The psichotic stabilization and sinthome joyciano: a node, an inventation

In the context of mental health, the unique solutions that the psychotic subjects present us requires clinic theoretical understanding of psychoses that go beyond a clinic of the metaphor, without necessarily abandon it, but including a notion of substitution that is not restricted to the delusional metaphor. To this end, we review the major stabilisation strategies addressed by Lacan, giving emphasis to the sinthome and the paradigmatic case of Joyce. This research will be a theoretical Job that is not intended to create a literary reflection of the work of the Irish writer, James Joyce. Although we approach the writing of Joyce, with their puzzles and their unusual epiphanies, our focus will continue to be the sinthome joyciano as an example of Scripture that makes, sustaining, so node Borromean knot, the Union of the three registers: the real, the symbolic and the imaginary. On our journey, we came to the conclusion that the sinthome joyciano, represents a solution of his paternal failure, a natural necessity of his foraclusão in fact in an earlier period to trigger psychotic himself. Represented in the clinic of psychosis, and still represents an alternate example, that although exercise the same function of the name-of-the-father, does not concern the significant Parent-name, as well as undeniable evidence of that, beyond the metaphor would be delusional a multiplicity of natural solutions that the psychotic subject could present / O objetivo da presente pesquisa é trazer à discussão a contribuição que o sinthoma joyciano representou para a psicanálise, no que diz respeito às estabilizações psicóticas.

Ultracold Rydberg Atoms in Structured and Disordered Environments

Liu, Ivan Chen-Hsiu 14 January 2009 (has links) (PDF)
The properties of a Rydberg atom immersed in an ultracold environment were investigated. Two scenarios were considered, one of which involves the neighbouring ground-state atoms arranged in a spatially structured configuration, while the other involves them distributed randomly in space. To calculate the influence of the multiple ground-state atoms on the Rydberg atom, Fermi-pseudopotential was used, which simplified greatly the numerical effort. In many cases, the few-body interaction can be written down analytically which reveals the symmetry properties of the system. In the structured case, we report the first prediction of the formation of ``Rydberg Borromean trimers''. The few-body interactions and the dynamics of the linear A-B-A trimer, where A is the ground-state atom and B is the Rydberg atom, were investigated in the framework of normal mode analysis. This exotic ultralong-range triatomic bound state exists despite that the Rydberg-ground-state interaction is repulsive. Their lifetimes were estimated using both quantum scattering calculations and semi-classical approximations which are found to be typically sub-microseconds. In the disordered case, the Rydberg-excitation spectra of a frozen-gas were simulated, where the nuclear degrees of freedom can be ignored. The systematic change of the spectral shape with respect to the density of the gas and the excitation of the Rydberg atom were found and studied. Some parts of the spectral shape can be described by simple scaling laws with exponents given by the basic properties of the atomic species such as the polarizability and the zero-energy electron-atom scattering length.
