(in English) Municipal books are valuable historical sources of every town. They provide us an important information about history of the towns and thus they create a real picture of our ancestors' lives. This thesis focuses on the critical edition of the first main accountancy book of town of Cheb that captures the period from 1396 to 1419. The main accountancy book gives an overview of the yearly statement of municipal incomes and expenses and thus provides information about the economical situation of the town. In the thesis there are described the external features of the book, its content as well as the paleographic analysis. Some other Cheb municipal books from the same period are used for comparison. The edition has the editorial note and the critical apparatus. The appendix of pictures is also a part of the thesis. The first main accountancy book supplements many other still existing financial book of town Cheb.

The thesis deals with the revitalisation of military brownfields located within the city Cheb. The objective of the thesis is to find the possible variants of the new use of the locality and evaluate them by using the multiple-criteria decision analysis. In the theoretical part of the thesis there is characterized the term of brownfields and the area characterized. Methodical part includes the description of the process of multiple-criteria decision analysis. In the final practical part there are the variants of the new use of the locality suggested, as well as defined there are the criteria for decision making including determination of the importance defined and on the basis of mathematical model there is the most suitable variant chosen.

This dissertation on "Changes in the School Libraries of the Cheb (1854-1942) and Pelhřimov (1871-1942) Secondary Schools" aims to present thematic analyses of the teacher and student libraries at these schools. The paper is divided into seven chapters. The first contains a critique of the sources and literature used. The second deals with the history of the Cheb Secondary School. The history of the Pelhřimov Secondary School presents the third chapter. The following section provides information on the development of school libraries and their inclusion in laws on education in the period 1848-1942. The fourth and fifth chapters then form the core of this paper, which include analyses of the teacher and student libraries at the Cheb and Pelhřimov Secondary Schools, not only from a thematic, chronological and language perspective, but also in terms of the acquisition and preservation of books. All the findings are then summarised in the conclusion.

This Ph.D. thesis focuses on the relations between the town of Cheb and Bohemian nobility in the late Middle Ages (from the second half of the 14th century to the beginning of the 16th century) with special interest in the period of the Hussite wars and the reign of King George of Podebrady. The thesis looks at these relations on two levels - conflicts (wars and courts) and non-violent (commerce, mutual assistance, information sharing) and tries to characterise and compare these phenomena. The thesis includes the case studies focusing on the question of the possibility of mutual interaction between examined subjects. It also focuses on particular noble families characterised by their transition from Cheb to Bohemia or otherwise.

Main goal of this thesis is research of everyday life specifics in Cheb region as a region on the west border of the former Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and eventual interception of these specifics in regional or national press in last twenty years before the Velvet Revolution. The base for the research became the weekly magazine Hraničář as the only regional newspaper published throughout the whole studied period and the research was conducted using searches of the sample chosen in advance (years 1970, 1971, 1980, 1981, 1989, 1990). Any predicative facts about the local newspapers, the composition of the editorial staff and possible editors impact (respectively presumed inability to influence) on the newspaper content in a system of directive management and reflections of the Chebsko region as a border region in the immediate vicinity of the Iron Curtain were of interest of the research. The core of the work is to draw a picture of everyday life of "ordinary" citizens of the region with regard to the above facts and focusing on different aspects of life in society such as the local economy, agriculture or cultural, sport and social life in the city. Title: Sport and physical activities in senior population - situation and promotion in Cheb Town The aim of this thesis is to examine what way of life seniors in Cheb prefer, what physical level they achieve and what specific programs and opportunities for leisure activities for this specific group of people in Cheb is organized. Conducted survey is to provide answers to questions primarily related to the level of physical activity of seniors and integration of these activities in their lifestyle and perception and satisfaction wit treir own health and life. Results of this work are the proposals that could help engage more seniors in an active lifestyle and proposals that could be considered by established organizations devoted to work with this specific group of people. The diploma thesis deals with the topic of Optimization of Public Procurement Process from the Perspective of Specific Contracting Authority. The thesis introduces the main contracting authority problems based on the analysis of concrete public procurement and an interview with Town Hall staff. Next there are described the main differences between the current and previous Public Procurement Law and the method Design - Build is presented.

City of Cheb, lying on crossroad of old trade roads, gains by favor of czcech kings and roman emperors many privileges supports trade activity. Sixteenth century was period of trade prosperity of this region: silver was discovered in Joachimsthal and some new deposits of tin. Prosperous mining areas are source of prosperity even for near and farther neighbourhoods, and on main route from western Europe lies Cheb. Assumed prosperity of trade shoud make impact on prosperity of city inhabitants, even city as a whole. Goal of this work is to analyze city income books (Umgeldbücher) and qualify and quantify income from trade and proportion of this income in whole city income.

Previous studies have shown that chemotaxis plays an important role in the colonization of the wheat roots surfaces by Azospirillum brasilense and a chemotaxis operon shown to control motility and chemotaxis in A. brasilense has been isolated. This study looked at the effects of mutations in individual genes coding for chemotaxis proteins from this operon on the ability of the cells to colonize the surface of sterile wheat roots. Using both quantitative and qualitative assays, the study shows differences in the colonization ability of the mutants relative to the wild type: the cheB, cheR, cheBR, and cheOp mutants were significantly impaired in wheat root colonization. Interestingly, the cheA mutant was not affected in its ability to colonize the wheat root surface relative to the wild type. Future studies will look for the factors that compensate for cheA impairment in the rhizosphere.
