Elektroforetické stanovení tantalu v recyklátech chladicích kapalin / Electrophoretic Determination of Tantalum in Recycled Coolants

This master thesis deals with the development of electrophoretic methods for determination of tantalum in recycled coolants used in the production of tantalum capacitors, as well as the separation of tantalum from chemically similar niobium. Developed methods are based on the formation of negatively charged complexes of tantalum and niobium with a number of ligands added to the separation electrolyte, especially tartaric and citric acid and 4-(2-pyridylazo)resorcinol. The separations were performed in a fused silica capillary of the inner diameter of 50 µm and the effective length of 36.5 cm, a negative voltage of -25 kV was applied to the capillary. Using a separation electrolyte containing 0.1 mol·l-1 of tartaric and citric acid at pH = 2, separation of niobium and tantalum was achieved in less than 3 minutes; the absorption spectrometric detection was carried out in the ultraviolet region at a wavelength of 200 nm, the detection limit was 2.8 ppm of tantalum, and the quantification limit was 9.2 ppm of tantalum. Addition of 4-(2-pyridylazo)resorcinol reduced the detection limit to 0.8 ppm of tantalum and the quantification limit to 2.6 ppm of tantalum; the electrolyte contained 0.1 mmol·l-1 of 4-(2-pyridylazo)resorcinol, 10 mmol·l-1 of tartaric acid, 10 mmol·l-1 of citric acid, and 25 mmol·l-1...

This diploma thesis deals with the problematics of fan cooling towers. The very first part of the text is research, focusing mainly on the theory of cooling and the function of fan cooling towers in general. The following chapter deals with the water resource management of the Dukovany nuclear power plant and the specification of its objects of forced draft cooling towers. The second part describes a computational model created to determine the cooling performance of these towers under the given input conditions. In the following chapters, the results from the computational model are compared with the available data from warranty measurements and with the provided characteristics. The final pages deal with the study of the influence of changes in input parameters on the cooling performance and the research of the behavior of the cooling towers under extreme weather conditions.

The thesis deals with the design and creation of a system for recording and reporting error states of cooling devices on the principle of a compressor heat pump. An important element of the concept of the entire monitoring system is a built-in platform based on the ESP32 microcontroller for evaluating data measured by sensors. Another key element is the communication module, which sends measured data via GPRS in the form of MQTT messages to the service web application. The application receives, evaluates and records measured data. Subsequently are measured data and evaluated error states presented to the user in the form of tables and interactive graphs.

The thesis focuses on comparison of the original and the new solutions of cooling water circuit of the York cooling units for the purpose of cooling water flow increase for the absorption units in the Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant. The individual parts of the cooling units that were changed and modified within a reconstruction are described here. The aim of the work is also to process and compare the original and the new solutions of the cooling units and the cold source station from the available measured data. The data are processed into illustrative graphs and tables. Based on the obtained data we can observe the changes achieved by the reconstruction that have affected the effectiveness of the cooling units.

Chlazení výkonných zdrojů světla / Cooling of a powerful light source

The diploma thesis is focused on calculating the thermal resistance of the line light source and the design of the cooling system with ideal inlet temperature. The partial aim of the work is in cooperation with CAMEA spol. s r. o. to determine the thermal resistances of the individual parts of the device and propose modifications so that the total thermal resistance and the maximum temperature are within the limits given by the cooperating firm. The main objective is to design a cooling system with all safety features and recommended regulation for economical and reliable operation. Analytical calculations, CFD simulations and real-world testing are used to determine the desired results. A reduction by 30% in thermal resistance of the printed circuit board was achieved, the thermal resistance of the aluminum profile with the cooling channel was determined and its hydraulic properties were calculated. The current cooling system designed by CAMEA spol. s r. o. for less powerful diodes was verified for use in a more powerful system, and a new cooling system was designed for efficient and economical operation in a powerful diode system.

Design of the radiant cooling system is based on calculation of thermal loads. Design documentation is part of the diploma thesis as well as the calculations made in excel.

Elektroforetické stanovení inhibitorů koroze v chladicích kapalinách / Electrophoretical determination of corrosion inhibitors in engine coolants

A determination of corrosion inhibitors in engine coolants represent a difficult analytical problem due to their different physicochemical properties. Nowadays a lot of instrument methods are needed to determine them. The aim of this work was the development of methods for their determination using only one instrumentation. Capillary zone electrophoreses was chosen as a suitable technique. Three electrophoretic methods for three groups of corrosion inhibitors were developed. Firstly, method for determination of inorganic anions was developed in range from 5 to 50 ppm with limit of detection around 1 ppm. Background electrolyte contains sodium chromate, CTAB and CHES solution. Analytes were detected indirectly at 450 nm. Another method was for determination of organic acids anions. They were determined in range from 5 to 500 ppm. Limit of detection for each analyte was around 1 ppm. Measurement was made with PDC a CTAC water solution. Indirect detection was used for this determination at 350 nm. Last developed method can be use for determination of aryltrizoles in range from 5 to 500 ppm. Limit of detection was around 1 ppm. Tato práce obsahuje přehled superslitin na bázi niklu, jejich obrábění za vysokého tlaku chladicí kapaliny, týká se také metod optimalizace pro tento typ obrábění a následné analýzy opotřebení nástroje. Tato studie byla vytvořena ve spolupráci se společností Safran, experimentální část byla zrealizována ve výrobním závodě Evry-Corbeil ve Francii. Experimentální část práce se týká optimalizace řezných podmínek pro vnitřní hrubovací soustružení součástí pro letecký průmysl za vysokého tlaku chladicí kapaliny. Cíle práce byly následující: srovnání rozdílných vyměnitelných břitových destiček dodaných společností Safran, návrh hrubovacích strategií a určení optimálních podmínek pro každou z vybraných strategií. Byly uvažovány dvě rozdílné strategie: soustružení s konstantním posuvem a šířkou záběru ostří a tzv. „ramping“. Pro každou ze strategií byla provedena operace čelního a podélného soustružení. Výsledky byly porovnány na základě ekonomického a produktivního kritéria.
