Minimální mzda v České republice a v Evropské unii. / Minimum wage in the Czech Republic and European Union

Šmíd, Marek January 2013 (has links)
The Master's thesis deals with analysis of the minimum wage in the Czech Republic and European Union. The first three chapters describe the function and development of the minimum wage, as well as the theoretical approaches of the minimum wage. Furthermore the arguments for and against the minimum wage are summarized. In the practical part the development of the minimum wage in the Czech Republic from 1991 is analyzed and the minimum wage across the EU countries is compared. The last analysis follows minimum wage based on further criteria: unemployment rate and poverty. The results show that during the years, in which the minimum wage increases more than average wage, the unemployment rate in Czech Republic is higher. Moreover, the countries with higher minimum wage have lower in-work-poverty rate.

Chudé stáří - Rostoucí předlužení osob v důchodovém věku jako příčina ohrožení chudobou / Poor age - Growing over-indebtedness of persons in advanced age

Jandová, Pavlína January 2017 (has links)
Western countries are facing an increasing poverty among seniors related to the demographic revolution and lengthening of life span. The so-called over-indebtedness is one of the "modern" causes and also consequences of poverty. This thesis discusses the relationship between over-indebtedness and poverty with emphasis on senior population (65+). An empiric analysis is employed to explore causes and consequences of over-indebtedness. The increasing over-indebtedness is already being targeted by public policies, however their effectiveness is low. Sufficient material and personal resources are lacking as well as not being optimally utilized. There is only limited cooperation between civil and public-law sectors. Communication with the private sector in a way of common goal setting is also deficient. In a fierce market-driven economy, elderly people become a weak link and find themselves in situations conflicting with morals, human and civil rights, and adequate quality of life in a modern society. This state of affairs threatens social integrity and demands a solution. Three participating groups were surveyed: the elderly, the employees of advisory centers and the non- bank financial institutions. Various approaches to solving the problem are discussed. The result of the analysis consists of a wide...

Askeze východní a západní mnišské tradice zaměřená na evangelijní rady v díle Tomáše kardinála Špidlíka / Asceticism of the East and West Christian tradition focused on evangelical counsels in the work of Tomas Cardinal Spidlik

Láznička, Viktor January 2017 (has links)
The aim of the thesis is to compare the Eastern and Western Christian ascetic practices focused on obedience, chastity and poverty, i.e. the evangelical counsels, in the work of Cardinal Špidlík. It is exactly Špidlík's work that is a significant source for this subject. As an expert of the Eastern tradition and at the same time a member of the Jesuit order, Cardinal Špidlík, the theologian of the undivided Church, is very well familiar with both spiritualities. Subsequently I analyze the possibilities of layman to live according to these counsels, which is also a bonding line of the whole thesis. Last but not least, this thesis aims to reflect through secondary literature the Špidlík's concept of evangelical counsels and also the possibilities of laymen to live according these counsels. Keywords christian spirituality, asceticism, obedience, poverty, chastity, layman, evangelical counsels

Teologie a antropologie v osobním poslání Matky Terezy z Kalkaty / Theology and anthropology in the personal mission of Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Plavnický, Tomáš January 2017 (has links)
This thesis deals with the life and mission of Mother Teresa. Her approach to people and especially the poor was motivated by love for Christ. She saw Christ in the suffering and dying people. She wanted people to not die alone and therefore founded the Missionaries of Charity order, which in a short time spread throughout the world. Thus, the idea gradually became known in the Church and in the world. Mother Teresa was rewarded and hosted by the powerful of this world, but always returned with love to her poor ones. Besides charity work she was also an ardent advocate of life and peace. Her message is still alive today, and her life, even though it was very plain, permanently left its mark on Christianity. The aim of this work is to present the main theological and anthropological approaches of Mother Teresa based on available texts, and to indicate the impact of this saint on contemporary Christianity.

Změny v distribuci příjmů v USA a dekompozice Giniho koeficientu

Roček, Tomáš January 2017 (has links)
Roček, T. Changes in income distribution in the USA and decomposition of Gini coefficient. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2016. Since the 80s of the last century, the United States has seen a considerable income inequality growth. This diploma thesis analyses the influence of individual income sources on determination of inequality, esteems their significance and formulates instruments that the government can use to affect these sources. This diploma thesis contains decomposition of Gini coefficient. This decomposition revealed, that the source, which is the most important determinant of the total income ine-quality are salaries and wages. Sales of assets contributed the most to the rise of inequality in the analysed period from 2000 to 2014. This income source also has the highest potential for further growth of income inequality. Discussion part, which follows, contains the debate about the main causes of this progression and the relevance of researching the income inequality issue. Based on the approach used in this diploma thesis, it is possible to decompose the Gini coefficient in any state or region, and to explore the inequality determinants in this way. This thesis also offers a comprehensive view on the whole issue.

Vnímání chudoby a bohatství dětmi v kontextu mediální reprezentací / Children's perception of poverty and wealth in the context of media representations

Mňuková, Dominika January 2021 (has links)
This thesis explores how children perceive extreme manifestations of social inequalities - poverty and wealth, and what role do media and media representations play in this process. Based on the literature, it is focusing on media construction of reality, media representations, and social inequalities in general, at the same time it deals with poverty and wealth in the context of perception and media representations, and it also explores the relationship between children and media. Furthermore, by analyzing the results of interviews with children the thesis directly examines how they perceive poverty and wealth and what role do media play in this process. The main finding concerning the social inequalities is that most children perceive them as legitimate and to justify them they use the method of naturalization or/and romanticization of poverty. The main finding concerning the media influence is that media affect children subconsciously and that their thoughts and attitudes to poverty and wealth correspond with media representations of the same in the media production for children.
