When it's really bad there should be a system" : Social service clients’ experiences of collaboration between human service organizations.

Blomgren Øvergaard, Jannci, Eriksson, Annika January 2018 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to investigate clients' perceptions of collaboration within the social service and between social services and other actors in human service organizations. A qualitative method was used and six semi-structured interviews were conducted with clients whose children were involved with social services. The results highlight that clients pay attention to other factors in the collaborative processes than professionals do. The interviewed clients expressed that collaboration is needed, but becomes difficult and time consuming the more actors involved. They described themselves as having a strong driving force and being help-seeking, as well as having many important roles in the collaborative processes that are often overlooked by both themselves and professionals. The results show that the relationship between social workers and clients play an important role where the social worker can relieve the client by acting as a disseminator of information.

Distributed Collaboration on Versioned Decentralized RDF Knowledge Bases

Arndt, Natanael 30 June 2021 (has links)
Abschließend lässt sich feststellen, dass der konsequente Ansatz der Quit-Methodik ein breites Spektrum von Szenarien zum verteilten Knowledge Engineering im Semantic Web ermöglicht.:Preface by Thomas Riechert Preface by Cesare Pautasso 1 Introduction 2 Preliminaries 3 State of the Art 4 The Quit Methodology 5 The Quit Stack 6 Data Creation and Authoring 7 Publication and Exploration 8 Application and Evaluation 9 Conclusion and Future Work Bibliography Web References List of Figures List of Tables List of Listings List of Definitions and Acronyms List of Namespace Prefixes / The aim of this thesis is to support the development of RDF knowledge bases in a distributed collaborative setup. In this thesis, a new methodology for distributed collaborative knowledge engineering – called Quit – is presented. It follows the premise that it is necessary to express dissent throughout a collaboration process and to provide individual workspaces for each collaborator. The approach is inspired by and based on the Git methodology for collaboration in software engineering. The state-of-the-art analysis shows that no system is consequently transferring the Git methodology to knowledge engineering. The key features of the Quit methodology are independent workspaces for each user and a shared distributed workspace for the collaboration. Throughout the whole collaboration process data provenance plays an important role. To support the methodology the Quit Stack is implemented as a collection of microservices, that allow to integrate the Semantic Web data structure and standard interfaces with the distributed collaborative process. To complement the distributed data authoring, appropriate methods to support the data management process are researched. These management processes are in particular the creation and authoring of data as well as the publication and exploration of data. The application of the methodology is shown in various use cases for the distributed collaboration on organizational data and on research data. Further, the implementation is quantitatively compared to the related work. Finally, it can be concluded that the consequent approach followed by the Quit methodology enables a wide range of distributed Semantic Web knowledge engineering scenarios.:Preface by Thomas Riechert Preface by Cesare Pautasso 1 Introduction 2 Preliminaries 3 State of the Art 4 The Quit Methodology 5 The Quit Stack 6 Data Creation and Authoring 7 Publication and Exploration 8 Application and Evaluation 9 Conclusion and Future Work Bibliography Web References List of Figures List of Tables List of Listings List of Definitions and Acronyms List of Namespace Prefixes

Skolsocionom, en ny roll i skolans värld : - En Kvalitativ Intervjustudie Gällande Socialt Arbete Mellan Två Organisationer / The School Social Worker, a New Professional role in the Swedish School System :   – A Qualitative Interview Study on Social Work between Two Organizations

Alfredéen, Veronica, Pietsch, Ayako January 2023 (has links)
Problematic school absenteeism is receiving an increasing amount of public attention in today's Sweden due to the impact it has on young people's health and their families. A relatively new profession, School Social Worker (SSW), constitutes a role in the intersection between schools, families, and the social services. The aim of this study is to examine SSWs experiences and how organizational conditions affect their work. The data was collected through nine semi- structured interviews and a thematic analysis was made based on the interviews using organizational theory and domain-conflict theory. Our findings are based on two main themes: The school social workers conditions and approaches and The social services in the pedagogical sphere. The results show that the SSW has a lot of freedom to shape their own professional role. The results also indicate that SSWs had different structures, goals and guidelines depending on the workplace. A common theme was preventive work, with the majority focusing on attendance-related issues. The results suggest a potential change in SSWs tasks if they fail to communicate clear boundaries with other professionals. The assignment's intent and adherence vary, especially regarding the issues SSWs are expected to address, such as handling twice the specified absenteeism rate.

Teacher Developmen in Cuba : An analysis of two strategies

Buchberger, Helena January 2013 (has links)
The aim of this study is to describe two strategies of professional teacher development in Cuba and analyse how they affect the professional growth of the teachers. The strategies investigated are methodological work sessions and further education at the university. Eight upper-secondary school teachers were interviewed and it was analysed how their professional growth was affected by the Cuban professional development strategies. The model utilized was the interconnected model of professional growth (Clarke & Hollingsworth, 2002).The results show that, four of the eight interviewed teachers experienced change sequences and growth networks as a consequence of participating in the two investigated strategies. The methodological work sessions promote a collaborative approach among the teachers to developing the education in their school. Further education in the university, on the other hand, encourages the teachers to reflect individually on practical school-related problems. The results indicate that the organization of the work both the professional development strategies provided acted as an incentive for the interviewed teachers’ development.
