No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 17 / Nenhuma / Este estudo investiga o papel desempenhado pela área de Controladoria em empresas que adotam boas práticas de governança no Brasil, representadas pelas empresas que atuam em segmentos diferenciados (Nível 1; Nível 2; e Novo Mercado) da Bolsa de Valores de São Paulo (BOVESPA). Para realizar a pesquisa empírica, elaborou-se um questionário, por meio do qual se buscou identificar características da área de Controladoria e do modelo de gestão das empresas. Entre os papéis desempenhados pela Controladoria, investigaram-se: o contábil; a participação no planejamento estratégico; o controle; a avaliação de desempenho; participação nas decisões; e apoio aos órgãos de governança. As respostas permitiram a compilar dados de 33 empresas, representando 29% da população. Os achados da pesquisa mostram que as funções contábeis, econômico-financeiras, de controle e avaliação de desempenho permanecem sob a responsabilidade da área de Controladoria. Já em relação à participação da área no processo decisório observou-se que a / This research investigates the responsibility of “the body” to manage accounting information in companies that operate in distinct segments of corporate governance (Level 1, Level 2 and New Market) of the São Paulo Stock Exchange (BOVESPA). Using empirical research, a survey was drafted to identify the profiles of the controllership area, the management model of the companies, the accounting function, the controllership function, participation in decision, etc. Data was collected and analyzed quantitatively, having obtained 33 answers representing 29% of the population. The results of the survey confirmed that most accounting functions are the responsibility of the controllership area of the companies. Regarding the participation of the controllership area in the decision process, it was observed that their role is one of counseling, a role that in 65% of the companies is simultaneously played to the role of control.
