Ribeiro, Fernando Sabino Fonteque January 2019 (has links)
In this context, the texture of the cutting tool was created on rake face, whose objective includes the greater penetration and retention of the fluid in the places where the highest temperatures and stresses are located on the cutting tool. As a result, the texture is also able to reduce the actual area of contact between chip and tool, allowing the reduction of the adhesion between them and, as a consequence, the minimization of the machining force. Several studies point to the application of textures as micro-reservoirs of cutting fluid or lubricant, in solid or liquid state. The "storage" property that the textures present can be exploited not only for the retention of lubricants or debris, but it can group materials with high thermal conductivity, a point not yet explored. Micro grooves with greater depths may be effective for storing materials that promote high thermal conductivity at the chip-tool interface. A material that could easily be deposited in micro grooves in order to promote a better thermal dissipation would be the carbon nanotubes, which has an unusual thermal conductivity among the materials, measuring from 2000 to 6000 W / mK considering a single nanotube of carbon. In the middle, the objective of this work is focused on the textu... (Complete abstract click electronic access below) / Mestre
