Překlad v oblasti gastronomie: francouzské varianty jídelních lístků v pražských restauracích / Translating gastronomy: French Versions of Menus in Prague's Restaurants

Georgievová, Jana January 2018 (has links)
The Master's thesis deals with the translatological aspects of multilingual menus in the context of Czech culture. The theoretical framework of the thesis offers several approaches to the topic: cultural, sociological, marketing, terminological and linguistic. Empirical research focuses on the Czech - French language-pair. The study maps online accessibility of French language menus in Prague's restaurants, compares their accessibility to those in other languages and analyses the quality of French translations. The crux of the study is an analysis of various strategies for translating Czech gastronomic terms into French, including adaptation, exoticization/naturalisation, and explication, among others. The analysis is based on Skopos theory and the pragmatics surrounding the supposed receiver of the final text. The study also concentrates on culturally specific terms (Czech specialties, French specialties, third country specialties) and the effect of non-native translators on the quality of the menu.

Vznik Ústavy České republiky / Formation of the Constitution of the Czech Republic

Svoboda, Veronika January 2018 (has links)
Formation of the Constitution of the Czech Republic Abstract The thesis deals with the issue of formation of the Constitution of the Czech Republic. This process has not been sufficiently described yet, as the sources are limited and fragmented. Therefore, the aim of this work is to map the whole process of the formation of the Constitution following the interviews with important personalities of that time. The intention is to provide readers with an insight into this issue and to deal with some partial questions arising in connection with this process. One such issue is, for example, the question of the legality and legitimacy of the formation of the Constitution which raises the debate even with a considerable lag from its adoption, as well as some constitutional institutes which were discussed extensively during the process of formation of the Constitution and which were often results of compromises of the subjects involved in the process. It is precisely a compromise solution of a number of sub-questions that is typical for the formation of the Constitution, as well as the randomness and specificity that lined its formation. These include, for example, the entities involved in the process of the formation of the Constitution which included not only two official commissions but also some notable...

Pocta Toyen (Marii Čermínové). Autorská kniha / Tribute to Toyen. Artist´s book

SKOPCOVÁ, Petra January 2013 (has links)
This thesis consists of two parts, written and practical. The subject of the written part is life and work of the surrealist artist Toyen. Despite the fact that Toyen is primarily known as a painter, I look at Toyen primarily as a first class illustrator and graphic designer in my thesis. The practical part is then the making of author's books inspired by graphic creation of Toyen. The main sources of inspiration for me were mainly the drawing cycles from the war period, such as The shooting range, and her artistically adapted erotic themes that she pursued throughout the whole course of her work. The result is the making of author's book containing fifteen sheets including book jacket and flyleaf. The aim of my work was not only a summary and processing of the creation of this artist, but especially to give a tribute to Toyen in this way.

BŘEZINOVÁ, Simona January 2014 (has links)
Immigration to the Czech Republic as an election topic is the main theme of this thesis. The introduction defines human migration and briefly describes its categories. Illegal migration and also the division of migrants in accordance with the administrative-legal status quo is paid attention to in this part as well. The following chapter briefly describes the development of foreigner immigration to the Czech Republic from the 90?s till today. Importance is given also to the number of foreigners living in Czech, international protection given to foreigners and illegal immigration to the country. Next two chapters deal with public opinion research of the Czech citizens. The aim was to find out whether election programs and the election topics included within have an impact on election preferences of the party and of those who vote. Furthermore, which election topics are key topics for the Czech public society. The second research area presents opinions of Czech citizens on immigration in global, foreigners living in Czech and finally on their employment. The prevailing part of the thesis is constructed by the analysis of the programmatic documents of the relevant parties, mostly their election programs. This part tries to explain which place this issue represents in their election programs or whether they pay attention to the emigration of the Czech citizens. The last chapter of the diploma thesis discusses immigration as an election topic in Germany, in one of the countries with the highest number of immigrants in Europe. This part of the thesis includes a short summary of inclusion of the topic of immigration and proposals for its solution from the election programs of the major German parties in the election held in 2013. The thesis is constructed mainly on a background of Czech bibliography and online resources.

Soukup, Jiří January 2018 (has links)
The present study focuses on the analysis of the changes of Franz Kafka's reception in the Czech context before World War II, i. e. on the analysis of Czech translations and critical reflections in Czech language of his works. The study is divided into two symmetrical (in time) parts: the first one focuses on Kafka's reception in his lifetime (1909-1922), the second one on the reception after his death (1924-1939). In the first part, translations of Kafka's office publications are analyzed in the context of their origin, Kafka's part (as an author) in the formation of the original texts as a source for their translation and set in the context of his belletristic works; in the prosopographically oriented analysis the aim is further focused on the reception of Kafka's belletristic texts in his lifetime and on different strategies of translation by authors who translated his texts into Czech during his lifetime (Milena Jesenská, Milena Illová, Jaroslav Dohnal), Kafka's responses and how they are reflected in his work. The analysis in the second part is structured mainly according to the tendencies of reception whose focus shifts gradually from expressionist to surrealistic interpretations; the analysis of gradual changes of Kafka's image in the Czech press which reflects the changing reception of his...

Integrace cizinců v České republice / Integration of foreigners in the Czech Republic

Pátková, Eva January 2015 (has links)
The diploma thesis Integration of Foreigners in the Czech Republic deals with the social integration of immigrants into Czech society with respect to structural, cultural, interactive and identifying dimensions. These are the crucial factors influencing their stay in the Czech Rebublic. The empirical part concerns perception of Czech reality through the eyes of selected foreigners from different countries living in the Czech Republic. Their findings are collected by qualitative research. During the interview, they provided detailed information about their stay in the Czech Republic and thus revealed issues which they deal with in the host country. It came out that a significant aspect of integration is not only the similarity of cultures but also foreigners' subjective feeling of integration.
