Tisk mládeže v letech 1945-1948 / Youth press in 1945-1948

Neradová, Alžběta January 2013 (has links)
The diploma thesis "Youth press in 1945 - 1948" focuses on the historical context of the time period after the WWII, the political parties of the National front and a brief description of press focusing on the youth organizations within political parties and the SČM (Union of Czech youth) titles. After the WWII young people have spontaneously created SČM, which was meant to be non-partisan base for all young people, regardless of political or religious beliefs. But SČM was often the cause of conflicts between the political parties of the National front. Young people were an important group of voters for all parties and thus, with the exception of the Communists, who liked the idea of a one united association, sooner or later all the political parties started to fight for their own youth unions. An important role in this struggle played their youth press: Mladý socialista (social democratic youth), Mladé proudy (national socialistic youth), Vývoj (Christian democratic youth) and as the opposite Mladá fronta (journal of the Union of Czech youth). In the individual titles can be watched ideological struggle and escalating rivalry not only between parties, but especially between the parties and the SČM, which was slowly becoming the organization in the hands of the Communists.

Obraz normalizačního Československa ve francouzském tisku / French press and Czechoslovakia under the Normalization

Schindlerová, Klára January 2017 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to map and to present the chosen themes of cultural and political scene of the Czechoslovakia under the normalization, as that they were presented in a given period and in a specific french journal. Among a great number of press published in France beween 1968 and 1989, I've chosen Le Monde as a significant journal. Firstly I expose the main problematics of my subject and I contextualize it in time and space. Then I propose a quantitative analysis, followed by an interpretation considering the cultural and political evolution in both countries. In order to complete the image of Czechoslovakia under the normalization made by media, I also use the press published by Czech and Slovak emigrants living in France. The image made by french television, whose importance grows continuously from 1970s, contibues as well to my problematic. I consider this thesis as a contribution to the Czech-French cultural relations in 1968-1989, a theme that has not been studied enough by historians.

Dějiny ÚV KSČ v éře Antonína Novotného / The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia in the period of Antonín Novotný

Hemza, Tomáš January 2019 (has links)
The purpose of the presented dissertation is to analyse the functioning of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia in Antonín Novotný's period (1953- 1967). The dissertation deals with three main themes: the organizational structure of the central apparatus, the staffing and personnel policy (the so-called nomenklatura). The main intention of the study concentrates on the Party elite's mobility and formation and considers patronage (clientelism) as an approach to understanding the political process. From the perspective of the political pluralism it examines coalition building at the central level through an analysis of aggregate biographical career data of over sixty Communist politicians. During the second half of the 1950s the Communist regime broke with the most brutal aspects of totalitarianism. The abandonment of massive and arbitrary repression was the key policy change from the Stalinist era. In many ways it prompted the transformation into a different type of dictatorship, becoming a modern police state rather than a despotic terror state. Instead of previous large-scale repression as a key means of social control, the Communist regime focused on a so-called cadre policy as the main power authority. As far as economic troubles were concerned, the Czechoslovak...

Obraz Československa v Chile po převratu roku 1973 a československá propaganda proti chilskému vojenskému režimu / The image of Czechoslovakia after the coup d'etat of 1973 in Chile and the Czechoslovakian propaganda against the Chilean military regime

Hartman, Matouš January 2019 (has links)
The following thesis deals with the question of ideological conflict between the Eastern Bloc and the Chilean military junta. The author of the thesis investigates the media portrayal of Czechoslovakia in Chile and analyses the Czechoslovak media propaganda against the Chilean military government. The qualitative analysis is accompanied by the memories of four Czechs who lived in Chile during the period. The main focus is on the years 1973, 1988 and 1989. The first year marks the beginning of the military dictatorship, the year of the biggest shock. The years 1988 and 1989 mark the end of the nondemocratic governments in both countries, Chile and Czechoslovakia. The daily journals chosen for the analysis were the most important newspapers in the countries of interest. These were El Mercurio and La Segunda in Chile, and Rudé právo and Mladá fronta in Czechoslovakia. The media analysis is accompanied by interviews with Milan Syruček, the foreign editor at Mladá fronta (1973), and Bohuslav Borovička, a Rudé právo reporter in Havana who travelled to Chile in 1988. The thesis offers a theoretical part with a summary of modern Chilean history and the question of ideologies in the Latin American state. There was conservative anticommunism with roots already at the beginning of the 20th century. On the...

Československý tužkárenský průmysl v centrálně řízeném hospodářství 1948-1968

BOHDÁLEK, David January 2019 (has links)
The submitted doctoral thesis focuses on the development and transformation of the Czechoslovak pencil industry in the period after the onset of the planned economy. The major pencil manufacturer Koh-I-Noor Hardtmuth was at the heart of the analysis. The annual reports, annual financial statements, business trip reports, and minutes of the director's and production meetings formed the source base. The correspondence with individual domestic institutions or foreign business partners, memories and a company magazine were also used. The preserved image archival documents - promotional leaflets and price lists - were not left out. The work is based on the methodological basis of the business history. The organization, operation and management strategies of the pencil industry in the historical background of economic changes and reforms have become the subject to examination. The national enterprises Centropen, Gama and Logarex, which were engaged in the production of office supplies, were also included into the research in terms of the comparison. The emphasis was placed on the role of individual managers conducting entrusted enterprises next to the analysis of turnover, production level and a number of employees. Advertising and promotional activities and their importance in the socialist economy was not left behind. In this context, the impact of extensive litigation regarding the trade mark and the name of Hardtmuth, which affected the export, production and advertising sectors, have not been overlooked. The interrelationship between the manufacturing enterprise and export organizations became one of the key topics.

Sudetoněmecké nacionalistické tělovýchovné organizace a československý stát v letech 1918 až 1938 / Sudeten-German Nationalist Sports Associations and Czech State in the years 1918-1938

Burian, Michal January 2012 (has links)
TITLE: Sudeten-German Nationalist Sports Associations and Czech State in the years 1918-1938 ABSTRACT: This dissertation deals with activities of Sudeten-German sports associations which had an negative approach towards the state. Their activities regularly provoked reactions from the state authorities and so it is possible to track down a whole genesis of mutual relations between the Czech state and individual associations in the archives. Among the most important sports associations was DTV Union. This union played an important part in the history of interwar Czechoslovakia, not only in the field of sport but also in the political sphere. Many top leaders of Sudeten-German political representation came from its ranks. Among the most famous Konrad Henlein, Karl Hermann Frank, Walter Brand and many others. Apart from DTV Union this dissertation also describes the most militant Sudeten-German sports association Volksport, which in that time became a synonym for the threat of rising Nacizm. The activities of Sudeten-German negative oriented sports associations had a significant influence on the course of events in Czechoslovak state in the second half of the 1930's and their anti-Czech attitudes culminated during the year 1938 and especially during the period of Munich Agreement. AIMS: The aim of the...
