Das Christentum, das sich in Südkaukasien in den ersten Jahrhunderten vor allem in der Bevölkerung der Städte und des flachen Landes verbreitet hatte, wurde zu Beginn des 4.Jh. im Staat Iberien (Kartli) zur offiziellen Religion erklärt, gleichzeitig ist wohl auch die offizielle Christianisierung Westgeorgiens vollzogen worden. Dem Gottesdienst stehen im Land Tausende von Kirchengebäuden zur Verfügung, die bekannte Namen tragen, während die weit zahlreicheren Kirchenruinen oft nicht mehr den ursprünglichen Namen führen, sondern Ersatznamen erhielten oder gänzlich namenlos geworden sind. Vielleicht vermag diese nur locker auflistende Übersicht zu eingehenderen Untersuchungen anzuregen.

The author presents her monography 'Proper names in the world of text' (original language Russian) in which an integrative approach is proposed, based on principles of text linguistics, narrative theory and literary onomastics. The immediate environments of proper names (microtextology) on the one hand, and the whole text as a space for realization and functioning of proper names (macrotextology) on the other hand are investigated on the material of the modern Russian fiction. Some new concepts and terms have been introduced and interpreted: onymic information, onymic anticipation and retardation (as main text strategies of name introducing), deconstructive function of proper name in text (in addition to proper name functions defined by D. LAMPING). The concept of namelessness in fiction and different metamorphoses of names in slang are also discussed.

In order to explain the role of proper names in narrative fiction the literary text is seen as a system which, however, is connected to the “real world' in many ways. As a work of art the literary text is characterized by the predominance of the aesthetic function. From applying R. JAKOBSON’S and J. MURAKOVSKY’S concept of the aesthetic sphere as the sphere where the linguistic sign primarily reveals its inherent aesthetic and semantic values follows that the communicative functions of the proper name in literary texts are reverse to their order in everyday communication: It is not the identifying function of the proper name which is dominant in literary texts, but rather all the other semantic and phonic values which in real-world communication usually are not realized.

Mit den Niederlanden sind hier nicht die heutigen Niederlande - gewöhnlich aber fälschlich Holland genannt - gemeint, sondern die historische Niederlande, die die heutigen Niederlande (N) und Belgien (B) umfassen. Da Migration immer stattgefunden hat, sind im Laufe der Jahrhunderte zahlreiche Bewohner deutschsprachiger Länder in niederländisches Gebiet eingewandert. Vor etwa 1800 war der Familienname noch nicht zu etwas Unabänderlichen erstarrt. Er konnte z. B. übersetzt werden.

Während früher Verbreitungskarten von Namen mühsam per Hand zu Papier gebracht wurden, um Forschungsergebnisse auf einen Blick präsentieren zu können, wird heute oftmals der umgekehrte Weg gegangen. Dank der EDV ist es möglich, digitale Karten innerhalb von Sekunden zu erstellen. Daher wird bei Untersuchungen zu z. B. Familiennamen zuerst einmal die Verbreitung erstellt und somit, über die Häufigkeit im geographischen Raum, das Gebiet der Herkunft lokalisiert.

In this article there have been analysed the surnames of the South Teschinensis Silesia region during the period from the end of 18th till the beginning of 20th century. In this period the surname was already morphologically shaped, however its graphical form was unstable during the whole discussed period. The discussed period has been divided into four phases that have been analysed on the basis of different graphical forms of the surnames. The graphical notation of the surnames particularly reflects Polish and German spelling features, as well as the dialect and regional influences. The number of different notations of a surname was decreasing over the course of time. During the first and last phase Polish spelling prevails, while during the second and third phases the surnames with German graphical elements are dominant. That fact reflects the social and political situation of the region: escalation of Germanization from the end of 18th century till the middle of 19th century, and by the end of 19th century Polonization tendencies.

In jüngster Zeit wurde die Häufigkeit von Familiennamen (FN) in geographischer Aufteilung verstärkt untersucht, vermutlich nicht zuletzt deshalb, weil mit Personalcomputern (PC) der erforderliche Rechenaufwand wesentlich verringert werden konnte. Mit Telefonverzeichnissen auf elektronischen Speichermedien (CD, Internet) entfällt zudem die aufwendige Datenerhebung. Nur selten wird jedoch danach gefragt, wie zuverlässig denn die Ergebnisse solcher Untersuchungen sein können. Das soll hier geschehen, denn die Verteilungskarten von FN sind nicht nur aus sprachwissenschaftlicher Sicht, sondern auch für den Genealogen interessant.

Die vergleichende Analyse der biblischen Phraseologismen des Deutschen, Englischen und Russischen hat uns gezeigt, dass die biblischen deonymischen Phraseologismen in verschiedenen Sprachen - ungeachtet vieler individueller Besonderheiten auf der Ausdrucksebene - auf der Inhaltsebene durch verschiedene Ähnlichkeiten charakterisiert sind. Man kann daraus wohl schlussfolgern, dass die biblischen Namen zu den beständigen und produktiven Bestandteilen des phraeologischen Systems in den verglichenen drei indoeuropäischen Sprachen gehören.

Straßennamen sind Symbole. Der Umgang mit ihnen zeigt an, in welche Traditionslinien sich ein Gemeinwesen stellen und woher es die historische Legitimation für die Politik holen will. Bedeutungsvoll und bezeichnend sind in diesem Zusammenhang die Straßenumbenennungen, die nach der Wende in der Ex-DDR eingeführt worden sind.

The study provides an outline in German language of the most important results of geographic name research in Hungary. Its main objective is to assist colleagues who have no information about research projects in Hungary because to date they have hardly been dealt with in summaries published in the main world languages (English, German, and French). Our study consists of eight chapters. The first deals with Hungarian publishing forums, onomastics congresses, the major sites of name databases as well as with research sites. The second discusses theoretical issues, while the fourth gives an outline of descriptive name studies. The fifth chapter provides an insight into the results of historical toponymy whereas the sixth and the seventh inform the reader about the application of research methods in respect of name geography and name sociology. The last, i.e. the eighth chapter imparts to the reader the domestic problems related to applied place name research.
