Krizové aspekty dluhu Itálie / Critical Aspects of the Italian Debt

Černohorský, David January 2014 (has links)
The work examines the hypothesis that the Italian debt has already reached its critical level and the creditors no longer trust the country. I concluded that it's far from having reached its critical level. Despite the rising debt and internal problems, Italy borrows more cheaply than before and thanks to economic growth and some reforms we can expect this trend to continue. On the other hand, the country still has major structural problems and struggles with high unemployment and declining competitiveness. In the case of failure to introduce necessary reforms, in a longer-term can Italy suffer by significant problems.

Hanzlíček, David January 2013 (has links)
This Master thesis is focused on the fiscal imbalance of the countries of the EMU, which deterioration was a consequence of the financial crisis. Most of the economies had to finance its deficits through the issuance of the sovereign bonds, which are associated with the longterm interest rates. The postcrisis development is characterized by the spread of sovereign bond yields. The thesis focuses on the determinants which have contributed to the spread. Moreover, the thesis discusses proposals for the common issuance of the eurobond which are seen as a solution of the debt market crisis.

Šándor, Peter January 2012 (has links)
The aim of this master thesis is to analyze the development of capital flows within the euro area and within selected Member States, with respect to the hypothesis of a sufficient replacement of private capital flows with official ones. Verification of the hypothesis is based on identifying sudden changes in capital flows, using the model created by Mr.Forbes and Mr.Warnock. The entire work is conceived into three main chapters. The first is dedicated to the development of the crisis in the euro area and the adoption of important reform measures as response to the resulting unfavorable situation. The second chapter deals with the definition of net and gross capital flows and their development in the so-called extra-area flows. The final section is focused on the analysis of intra-area capital flows and flows in selected member countries.

Vplyv plnenia stratégií konkurencieschopnosti na priebeh dlhovej krízy v EÚ / The impact of the implementation of competitiveness strategies on the course of the debt crisis in EU

Vojtovičová, Anna January 2013 (has links)
The main approach to the solution of the debt crisis, which started in EU in 2010, was the adoption of measures focusing on fiscal consolidation. But despite them it is still not possible to claim that the debt crisis has been resolved, and the economic stagnation of EU continues. This thesis follows alternative approach to the solution of debt crisis, specifically the measures revolving around fostering of economic growth. It looks into how different extent of implementation of competitiveness strategies, whose goal together with the improvement of country competitiveness is to also improve economic growth, influenced the impact of debt crisis on selected countries. Based on this analysis we draw a conclusion whether or not measures focused on the economic growth could be a more effective solution of the debt crisis.

Komparace příčin a řešení současných hospodářských problémů Irska a Řecka / Comparison of causes and solutions of the current economic problems of Ireland and Greece

Fenclová, Veronika January 2012 (has links)
The aim of this master thesis is to analyze and look for ways out of present debt crisis which the states of euro zone are in. I am exploring these issues on the two countries, which have accepted the euro as their currency. European Union (or more precisely euro zone) has had problems for almost the whole of decade, which are now threatening its being. The basic causes are mainly the lack of structural assumptions of single European economies. The practical part of the master thesis is dealing with comparison of financial assistance, which was provided to Greece and Ireland from EU and IMF. It is evaluating the effectiveness of such help with regard to current economic situation and outlook. The thesis is comparing both of these countries from their entry to European Community and it is assessing fulfillment of Maastricht criteria. It is exploring economic and political situation of both countries and is dealing with the period after the global financial crisis, which has revealed long-term and unresolved problems if selected states of European Union.

JE FISKÁLNÍ UNIE ŘEŠENÍM KRIZE EUROZÓNY / Fiscal Union: A Solution for the Euro Area Crisis?

Šatavová, Eva January 2012 (has links)
The goal of this work is an assessment of the hypothesis whether the fiscal union in euro area can cope with the consequences and causes of the debt crisis. Categorized proposals leading to fiscal union are presented. These proposals are facing problems of moral hazard, perverse incentives, new taxes, inefficient allocation of scarce resources, and general issues of fiscal policy. New steps towards fiscal union will be accepted at the supranational level, some of these steps are more likely than others. The tighter rules, fiscal oversight and regulation the fiscal union will provide, the longer and more successful will be preventing of the crisis in the euro area. Because the euro area cannot be considered an optimal currency area and because the tragedy of the commons problem is observed here, then fiscal union in the long run, along with all the problems of the new proposals will only lead to a deepening of the crisis, or creating a new and much stronger one.
