The second chapter is focused on the substitute family care and its forms. The third chapter describes the foster care, what are the demands on the personality of the caring person, what the preparation looks like, which are the conditions and course of the foster care. The fourth chapter is focused on the child identity, contacts with biological parents and describes the process of assisted contacts.

The thesis deals with issues of SOS villages with a special focus on psychological problems. Its goal is to point out the psychological problems related to mental deprivation. The work is divided into the theoretical and the practical part. In the theoretical part, the activities of SOS villages are presented. Further explained is the notion of mental deprivation, its origin, historical development and examples, and it familiarizes with different kind of substitute family care. The practical part introduces a research by the method of questionnaire examination, which was conducted among foster mothers from the SOS village and retired foster mothers.

This thesis deals with the deep knowledge of the pupils of primary school who attend special school, a primary school established pursuant to Section 16 (9) of the Education Act. The main aim of the thesis was to describe the broad context of a child attending this type of school. The aim of the theoretical part was to characterize themes - mental disabilities, education of pupils with mentally disabilities, deprivation and socially disadvantaged environment, including issues of Gypsies ethnicity. The practical part has a qualitative charakter and presents case studies of five pupils. The aim was to produce detailed diagnostics and understanding of special school pupils through case studies, interviews with children, teachers, parents and teacher assistants.

This thesis puts a goal to find out opinions of parents of children placed into institutional care. We are interested in reasons for withdrawal of children from their care and for placement of children to institutional care or into foster care. In the introduction of the theoretical part there is mentioned history of care for orphaned or deferred children and history of development of theory of attachment. In the next part there is paid attention to developmental psychology with respect to emotions and factors shaping physical and especially psychical child's development. The theory of attachment and psychic deprivation is closely related with this issue and they are described in the next parts of this thesis. With respect to chosen issue the next part discusses the essential statutory regulations, especially Act No. 359/ 1999 Coll. as amended about activity of the authority child protection, then Act No. 109/2002 Coll. as amended about the performance of institutional education or protection education and other related acts. The thesis is focused on problematics of psychological deprivation in childhood and in old age. Theoretical part reflects Langmeier/Matějček theory of psychological deprivation in childhood, old age and the problematics in terms of philosophy of education. The practical part is and effort to apply developmental psychological theory in childhood to the period of old age. In conclusion the valid assumptions are formed. Those justify to formulate the hypotheses about the analogy between the psychological deprivation in childhood and in old age and the possibilities of education for their prevention and remedy, as materials for the qualitative research. Its outcomes could result in improving the current model of institutional care of the elderly persons and validate legitimacy of the pedagogical accompaniment in the stages of their way of life and so far unappreciated importance of existentialist conception of education.

This diploma paper is devoted to the problem of children in surrogate families from the teachers´ point of view. Upbringing of a child in a surrogate family ( adoptive or foster) has its own specifies and cause a numer of problems, which result from the possible deprivation of a child over the years of his early development. Education and preparation for chool have thein own specifice as well. That is why teachers schould have sufficient knowledge in this spere. In the theoretic part of my work I focus on the characteristics of surrogate family care, on the problem of psychic deprivation and subdeprivation, thein reasons, demonstration and diagnostics. This work is also devoted to the probleme of the education of mentally deprivated children. The survey was carried out by the help of focus groups. The aim of the survey was to find out the level of teachers´awareness of surrogate family care, thein positions, opinions, expectations, experience and understanding the questions of psychic deprivation and subdeprivation. We carried out the survey in two groups: teachers with work experience and future teachers (students). The next part of the work contains the casuistry of two foster families aimed at effective cooperation between family and school. The obtained results could be a starting point for another research and a source of topics for possible suplement to the education program of padagogical studies.

1 ABSTRACT The diploma thesis, "Specifics of education of children from a children's home" has a theoretical and empirical character and it is focused on the education of primary school pupils who are placed in a children's home. The first, theoretical part, gathers expert knowledge related to the social and legal protection of children and selected cases where the rights of the child are not respected. It describes institutions operating in institutional and protective education, which are under control of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic. It captures the negative effects of institutional education on the child. In the context of inclusive education, it characterizes a pupil from an orphanage as an endangered child with special educational needs. The purpose of the theoretical part was to describe, on the basis of professional literature, the most common obstacles that a pupil from a children's home encounters (or may face) during education and what are their causes. This diploma deals with the care of vulnerable children in the Czech Republic and in the domeins of foster care and residential care. The main emphasis is in the views of the actors involved and their perception of children, parents, foster parents and applicants for adoption in the space between the biological family, institution and foster care. This thesis attempts to describe the causes of the long stay of children in institutional care, according to some participants. The main methods are interviews with key stakeholders who are selected on the basis of rapid analysis of stakeholders. The research questions are at work identifying the main causes and sub-system problems from the perspective of actors, is devoted to their interest and proposed solutions. Theoretical basis are the stakeholders and their roles, how their behavior, relationships, roles and interests affect the functioning of the system and resolve the problem. Developmental psychology and socialization of individuals are used to explain the problem. The diploma describes the current state of the system of care for vulnerable children in the Czech Republic, family policy and outlined the proposed solutions of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, considerable space is devoted to temporary foster care for the person and social worker.

Prague: Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague, 2013. 140 s. Diploma thesis. This diploma thesis is focused on the children of imprisoned parents in the Czech Republic. It deals with the right of the child to have contact with a parent in prison, the actual realization of this contact and its support in Czech and international legal frameworks. In the center of attention is due to the imprisonment of parents and separated families. There are problems with severing emotional attachments between the separated child. Growing up in childcare institutions, without their biological parent, has implications for their upbringing. Thanks to theoretic knowledge and conclusions the theoretical part is drawn up and implemented by quantitative questionnaire surveys of all childcare institutions in the Czech Republic. Their purpose is to find out whether the child's right to contact with imprisoned parents is carried out, what type of contact is most often implemented, and what obstacles prevent most of the contact. The thesis Cooperation of governmental and non-governmental sector in the care of neglected children has theoretical and research nature and is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The first chapter of the theoretical part focuses on the child neglect in the family. In addition to defining the concept are given the educational implications of child neglect in the family, its risk factors and failure of family in relation to child neglect. The second chapter deals with governmental and non-governmental sector entities, intervening in the area of child neglect. Attention is focused on social work in the department of social and legal protection of children, NGOs working with endangered families and children and socio-educational work with children at risk of neglect in selected schools and school facilities.
