Kindesjö, Christoffer, Keijser, Tobias January 2014 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to examine if there's a type of system which properties reminds of both traditional systems and e-infrastructures without belonging to either of the two. How a design model for development of this kind of system looks will also be examined. The kind of system is what we refer to as a borderline system. To examine this traditional systems and E-infrastructures and their development methods have been analyzed in order to see if there is some kind of system in between the two endpoints. And if there is something there, how a design model for this kind of borderline system would look. A case study was applied to see how well the theoretical design model was applicable to practical system development. Results of the study show that there in fact is a type of system, which do not fit in the frames of neither traditional systems nor e-infrastructures. It also showed that the design model could be applied during development of this kind of system. During the development many of the design principles were found irrelevant. The definition of borderline systems was also only applicable for some parts of the developed system. The definition of borderline systems were then reformed to: - The first version of the system contains only a few but through thought functions that generate direct usefulness. - Which functions that will be added in later versions will be decided by the need of these functions that is expressed by the users during the operating time of the system. The study presents design rules, which in the development process solved the problems that were found and linked to the specific properties of the redefined version of the borderline system definition.

Detekce anomálií běhu RTOS aplikace / Detecting RTOS Runtime Anomalies

Arm, Jakub January 2020 (has links)
Due to higher requirements of computational power and safety, or functional safety ofequipments intended for the use in the industrial domain, embedded systems containing areal-time operating system are still the active area of research. This thesis addresses thehardware-assisted control module that is based on the runtime model-based verificationof a target application. This subsystem is intended to increase the diagnostic coverage, particularly, the detection of the execution errors. After the specification of the architecture, the formal model is defined and implemented into hardware using FPGA technology. This thesis also discuss some other aspects and embodies new approaches in the area ofembedded flow control, e.g. the integration of the design patterns. Using the simulation, the created module was tested using the created scenarios, which follow the real programexecution record. The results suggest that the error detection time is lower than usingstandard techniques, such a watchdog.
