Etika médií. Mediální prezentace vybrané zprávy napříč českými médii / Media ethics. The media presentation of selected news across the Czech media

Raddová, Michaela January 2020 (has links)
Diploma thesis Media ethics with subtitle The media presentation of selected news across the Czech media consists of two main parts - theoretical and practical. Both of them deal with the issues of media communication, presentation and media ethics. The theoretical part defines the terms and individual relations between them, describes the historical and technological development of the media. It also shows ethical problems of nowadays society. Last but not least, the theoretical part summarizes the methodological approach of the practical part. The aim of the practical part is to analyze the selected report and its presentation in various types of media. The author focuses mainly on media ownership, media type, message processing, etc. The result of the analysis should be a clear outline that would provide the readers of this diploma thesis with all background material to objectively evaluate the presentation of the selected news from the point of view of media ethics.

Developing a new multidimensional index of bank stability and its usage in the design of optimal policy interventions

Gulati, R., Hassan, M.K., Vincent, Charles 16 May 2023 (has links)
Yes / This study proposes an optimisation-based “benefit-of-the-doubt” (BoD) methodological framework for developing a new multidimensional index of bank stability. The proposed index has the ability to serve as a potent policy tool that overcomes the downsides of accounting- and market-based measures of bank stability. This data-driven approach generates endogenous weights for aggregating bank stability indicators and dimensions. Further, we integrate the BoD framework with a metafrontier approach, which we call a “meta-BoD framework”. The final outcomes of the suggested framework go beyond a scalar measure of bank stability and provide the unique weighting matrix that offers valuable policy-relevant insights about the most precarious areas of stability that require the attention of management and regulators for both micro- and macro-level policy interventions. In addition, it draws insightful information about the instability gaps across heterogenous bank groups. The study presents an illustrative example of the proposed framework to obtain a bank stability index using the dataset of 76 Indian banks operating between 2014 and 2018. The bank stability index is made up of 14 financial ratio indicators covering five dimensions of stability: asset quality, management efficiency, capital adequacy, profitability and liquidity. The findings offer the detailed information required for comprehending the evolution of bank stability and assessing instability gaps across bank groups.

Multilayered analysis of co-development of business information systems

Aram, Michael, Neumann, Gustaf 01 July 2015 (has links) (PDF)
Business information systems (BIS) comprise technological (e.g. programs), informational (e.g. content) and social artifacts (e.g. collaboration structures). Typically, such systems are constantly and collectively developed (co-developed) further by a variety of individuals within the organization. By recognizing these varying types of actors (concerning their goals, technical expertise and language means) and their predominantly developed artifact type, one can distinguish two types of subsystems: technical subsystems wherein the development of the system behavior is conducted by software developers; and business subsystems dominated by end-users developing informational artifacts. So far, co-development structures within and between these subsystems are not well understood, especially the aspect that - potentially driven by appropriate measures such as the provision of domain-specific languages - co-development might shift between these subsystems. This paper presents an approach for characterizing the co-development of real-world BIS with respect to direct participation from different kinds of contributors. This multilayered approach allows us to analyze the co-development with programming languages, domain-specific languages and end-user tools. The approach is suited to assess the direct participation of individuals from different subsystems in the development of evolving BIS. We focus on the intersection of these subsystems, present appropriate metrics and a multilayered analysis scheme. Contributions to artifacts are analyzed using social network analysis to detect structural properties of continuous co-development. The application to Learn@WU, a real-world BIS, demonstrates how end-user enabling technologies have shifted the co-development effort of the system from a small group of developers to a several orders of magnitude larger group of contributors. We observed an increase of direct participation over time on both informational and executable artifacts, while the number of technical experts was more or less constant. Our approach may act as a trigger for the application and further development of rigorous instruments for assessing co-development of BIS. (authors' abstract)

Utvecklingsanalys av installationssystems montering vid industriellt träbyggande : Värme, vatten, ventilation, el och avlopp / Development analysis of building service systems assembley process in industrialized timber housing

Backåker, Johan, Harder, Jonas January 2013 (has links)
The industrialized timber housing process is capable nowadays to build multi-storeyhouses since fairly new changes in the Swedish regulations where made after theadmission of the European Union in 1994.The industrialized process moves parts of the construction process into a highlyeffective factory where 3D-volumes of the building are prefabricated beforetransportation to the building site for assemble. The assembly process is relatively effective compared to the completion of thebuilding service system and this is therefore the main focus in this thesis. This thesisattends problems with completion of the building service system, and thereforedemarcates from other aspects, such as technical and economic aspects, of thebuilding service system. The degree of completion of the flats differs from completion of the connectivepassages, for example hallways, in a way that suggests a need for further investigation. This thesis includes analysis of the possibilities to increase the prefabricatedconnective passages, to the extent of containing building service systems. An increase of the prefabrication of the building service system has a greatdevelopment potential, even though some restraining factors need to be solvedbefore implementation. This thesis was made in collaboration with two of Sweden’s leading companies on themarket of multi-storey industrialized timber housing, Moelven ByggModul AB andLindbäcks Bygg AB.

The fate of neonate calves : a discussion of the bovine infant health implications of dairying in antiquity, using archaeozoological studies of six Orcadian contexts

Davis, Geoffrey W. January 2010 (has links)
A methodology for ageing foetal and neonatal cattle is developed, involving radiographic examination of infant mandibles for early developmental stages in molariform teeth; tooth-wear methodologies are imprecise at this stage before wear commences. Known-age modern bovine foetal and neonate material are collected as a control assemblage for method development (n=73); six Neolithic to Norse era assemblages from Orkney are examined using the modified technique together with standard tooth-wear analysis and other methodologies. Foetal and died-at-birth material is diagnosed at most sites using the new technique, together with a range of other peri-natal age-groups. Ageing at this early stage is highly relevant in the diagnosis of milking as a palaeoeconomy: the accepted view is that unwanted (male) calves were slaughtered to maximise milk for human consumption, hence a surfeit of neonate calf remains, as at the study sites. The diagnosis of foetal and died-at-birth material challenges this view, suggesting that attritional causes may have contributed to deaths at this stage. Although milking was probably carried out at most of the study sites, this may have been combined with slaughter of cattle for meat in a pragmatic exploitation strategy. Literary research shows possible attritional causes of abortion and early death in calves, in particular dietary insufficiency in pregnant cows, microbial infections, and also inadequate colostrum uptake. Additionally, research is used to consider the challenges to health that early milking might have posed, to the calf as mentioned, but also to the cow, where three main health issues are highlighted: infertility, mastitis and lameness.

Porovnání psychologických a výtvarných aspektů v kresbě dítěte předškolního věku / Comparison of Psychological and Artistic Aspects in the Artwork of Preschool Age

Dražská, Jiřina January 2014 (has links)
The aim of the diploma work is the identification of the common as well as the different aspects of children's drawings from both the artistic and developmental perspective. The goal of this thesis is to assemblele a record sheet on theoretical and empirical knowledge, which could also serve as a guide for kindergarten teachers when handling children's drawing. The theoretical part is split into two chapters: the development of personality of a preschool child, where the developmental stages from prenatal to preschool age are described; and children's drawing describing the progression, characteristic features, most common motifs and their possible utilisation in practice. The empirical part deals with qualitative research of preschool children focusing on analysis and comparison of children's drawing. An important part of the thesis is the record sheet, which is included in the empirical part.

運用土地開發分析法建立地價評估機率模型 / The use of the land development analysis to establish the probability model of premium assessment

林俊豪 Unknown Date (has links)
本文透過機率模型的建立,考量不動產開發隱含之風險,呈現估值的結果由定值轉變為區間;考量不同估價人員或開發業者間,對於相同投入參數不同認知的情形;本模型將對地價敏感性較大之投入參數由定值轉為機率密度函數,較估價人員或開發業者主觀認定各項投入參數之變動更為客觀;可應用於大量估價,亦可作為估價人員或開發業者評估土地時,價格之參考 / Land development analysis is one of the developers and valuers assessment of land price method, different practitioners, however, is often not the same for the valuation of the same subject, valuers bias caused by the difference in price? Or valuers use of the land development analysis, the various input parameters the differences? In this study, turnover in Taipei sale by public tender premium and public listed construction company to assess the land value of Taipei City were analyzed, Looking for land development analysis the probability distribution of possible input parameters using the @ Risk, useing Monte Carlo simulation analysis to establish the land development analysis of the price of the probability model, and using the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE), the hit rate and cross-validation as a probability model to predict the measure of the quality and extent of the valuation, "open auction” group and “assess the premium” group between the two probability model may be predictive ability. The results showed that the valuation accuracy of the assessment information group better probability model created by the sale by public tender group compared with no predictive effect. Three kinds of fit test of the probability model is based on the AD for degree verification to establish the probability model the best performing (MAPE of 14.98%, the error is ± 10% Hit-the rate is 38.46%, the error is ± 20% the Hit-the rate is 71.43% ). Through the establishment of the probability model, consider the real estate development implied the risk of showing the results of the valuation by the valuation change interval; considerations between the different valuation or development industry, for the same input parameters of different cognitive situations; this model will have premium The larger sensitivity of the input parameters from the given value to the probability density function over valuation or development industry subjective judgments more objective changes of the input parameters; can be applied to a large number of valuation, assessment of land may be used as the valuation or development industryWhen the reference price.
