Příprava a charakterizace sulfurizovaných polymerů pro elektrochemické zdroje proudu / Synthesis and characterization of sulfurized polymers for electrochemical power sources

Svoboda, Lukáš January 2019 (has links)
Batteries based on lithium-sulfur technology have the potential to increase the amount of stored energy in comparison with current lithium-ion systems while maintaining the same weight. Achieving this goal is possible due to the high theoretical energy density of sulfur, which exceeds the values of other materials used in batteries. However, these batteries suffer from several failing, which still hinder the practical use. The use of amorphous sulfur instead of its crystalline form might lead to increasing of durability and charge efficiency. Inverse vulcanization of sulfur seems to be the perspective method for the preparation of polymer sulfur because it prevents its recrystallization and stabilizes amorphous sulfur. The aim of this thesis is the preparation and study of properties of materials made of inverse vulcanized sulfur.

Příprava metastabilních vrstev železa pro magnetické metamateriály / Metastable iron thin films for magnetic metamaterials

Holobrádek, Jakub January 2020 (has links)

Úprava konstrukce zařízení pro měření rozptylu laserového světla z drsných povrchů / Modification of construction of the device for measuring laser light scattering from rough surfaces

Jaworková, Magdalena January 2020 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with a design modification of detection part of the laboratory instrument for measuring the topography of rough surfaces – laser goniometric scatterometer (SM II). Design modification is based on replacement of so far used detector instead for the detector of higher quality with better measurement parameters. The first part of the diploma thesis contains theoretical basics, which are necessary to understand the relationship between scalar diffraction theory and scattering measurements of monochromatic light. The emphasis is on the importance of choosing appropriate detection coordinates, which are affecting the aberrations of detected diffracted light. The practical part is dedicated to improving the sensitivity of the detection part of the scatterometer SM II that is used in The laboratory of coherence optics at IFE FME BUT. This part justifies the choice of the detector which predetermines both the use of optical elements and the overall design of the detection part as the goniometer.

Chemická a spektroskopická charakterizace keltských kovových artefaktů / Chemical and Spectroscopic Characterization of Celtic Metal Artifacts

Išková, Petra January 2010 (has links)
The thesis comprehensively investigates 2 pcs of ferrous and 14 pcs of bronze Celtic artefacts from a region of Zdejciny by Beroun. The study by means of ore microscopy, x-ray fluorescent microspectrometry, chemical microanalysis, Raman microspectrometry and x-ray powder diffractive analysis has showed that the bronze artefacts are made mainly of bronze. The phases present in the studied items correspond to fields and + of the Cu-Sn phase diagram. Content of Sn in bronze ranges between 4 and 33 wt.%. For the bronze selected items there was also Vickers microhardness measured. There were two artefacts where areas with a significant lead enrichment were found. Corrosive products were also deeply analysed and identified.

Mineralogická analýza historických maleb / Mineralogical analysis of historical paintings

Čermáková, Zdeňka January 2015 (has links)
Historical painted works of art have a very complex inner structure. The period painting technique led to the execution of a ground layer followed by several layers of underpainting and a top paint layer, over which a layer of glaze has been applied to increase the resistance to external wear. Each of these colour layers is composed of a dye or a pigment (or their mixture) bound by organic binder. Throughout the history, pigments were commonly prepared from minerals, either extracted from natural deposits or created artificially. In these heterogeneous layers containing both inorganic and organic components, undesirable degradation changes either driven by processes taking place directly in the colour layer or influenced by external agents may occur. Mineralogical approach, which focuses primarily on the structure of studied pigments, helps in the clarification of the occurring processes, in the determination of conditions leading to degradation as well as in the identification of original/degradation phases. Furthermore, it can be profitably applied in the micro- analysis of mineral pigments present in tiny micro-samples obtained from works of art, contributes to the artwork's provenance/authorship studies and the determination of regional provenance of the employed mineral pigments. Strukturní a mechanické charakteristiky niklových litin s kuličkovým grafitem / Structural and Mechanical Characteristics of Nickel-Alloyed Ductile Cast Iron

Tesařová, Hana January 2010 (has links)
The aim of this dissertation work is the evaluation of the influence of nickel alloying on the structure and mechanical properties, both monotonic and dynamic, of nodular cast iron with ferritic and bainitic matrix. Two chock melts with 0.5 and 2.7 % Ni were used to study the nickel influence. The quantitative evaluation of structure of these melts using image analysis was done and basic tensile mechanical properties were determined. Subsequently, the time optimization of two-stage ferritic annealing and isothermal austempered heat treatment at 375 °C was performed with the aim to obtain optimal ferritic and bainitic structures with best static and dynamic mechanical properties. After ferritic annealing the nickel alloying contributes to substitution hardening of ferritic matrix which positively affects its strength and other mechanical properties. The higher nickel content in the bainitic structure causes the shift of phase transformation times to longer times which results in restricted production of small carbides and in bigger volume of retained austenite. These features were confirmed by observation in transmission electron microscope. Precise tensile and low cycle fatigue tests at temperatures 23 and – 45 °C were performed on the optimized structures of both nodular cast irons. As a result of the notch effect of graphite nodules, microplastic deformation of both nodular cast irons was observed at stresses which were lower than the yield stress. The Hollomon's equation very well describes the individual parts of tensile curves for both nodular cast irons including their mutual comparison. From the low cycle fatigue tests, the cyclic hardening/softening curves, the evolution of elastic modulus and hysteresis loop shape parameters, cyclic stress-strain curves and fatigue life curves were obtained for both temperatures and materials. Moreover, the decrease of retained austenite volume was measured by neutron diffraction and the evolution of surface relief was characterized during cyclic straining for both austempered nodular cast irons at both temperatures. On the basis of these results both cyclic plasticity and fatigue degradation mechanisms in relation to the cyclic strain localization were described for both nodular cast irons.

Studium funkčních vlastností tenkých vláken NiTi pro aplikace v smart strukturách a textiliích / Investigation of Functional Properties of Thin NiTi Filaments for Applications in Smart Structures and Hybrid Textiles

Pilch, Jan January 2011 (has links)
PhD thesis focuses the field of textile application of modern functional materials, namely metallic shape memory alloys with unique thermomechanical properties deriving from martensitic transformation in solid state. Particularly, it deals with the development of a nonconventional thermomechanical treatment of thin NiTi filaments via Joule heating by electric current and related basic research involving thermomechanical testing and modeling of functional properties of the filaments, investigation of martensitic transformations and deformation processes in NiTi and investigation of the fast recovery and recrystallization processes in metals heated by short pulses of controlled electric power. The method was developed and called FTMT-EC. In contrast to conventional heat treatment of metallic filaments in environmental furnaces, this method allows for precise control of the raise of the filament temperature and filament stress during the fast heating (rate ~50 000 °C/s). As a consequence, it is possible to precisely control the progress of the fast recovery and recrystallization processes in heat treated filaments. In this way it is possible to prepare filaments with desired nanostructured microstructure and related functional properties. A prototype equipment for application of the method for heat treatment of continuous SMA filaments during respooling in textile processing was designed and built. Comparing to the conventional heat treatment of SMA filaments in tubular environmental furnaces, this approach is faster, saves energy and allows for preparation of filaments with special functional properties. International patent application was filed on the method. It is currently utilized in the research and development of smart textiles for medical applications.
