Aplicação dos indicadores ethos de responsabilidade social empresarial: estudo de caso com uma empresa da economia de comunhão / Application of indices from Ethos Institute for Business and Social Responsibility: a case study with an economy of sharing enterprise

Diante do atual cenário político, econômico e social, permeado pela intensa competitividade, novas propostas de estilos de gestão estão emergindo no meio empresarial. No âmbito social, essas propostas tornam-se cada vez mais importantes e as organizações assumem o papel de resgatar os valores humanitários e as condições sociais do indivíduo. Desta forma, as organizações se tornam agentes de mudança e co-responsáveis pela reconstrução da cidadania e do bem-estar social. Este trabalho visa identificar e caracterizar dois tipos de propostas de gestão social: a Responsabilidade Social Empresarial e a Economia de Comunhão. Ambas surgem no contexto de amenizar a exclusão social, erradicar a pobreza e diminuir a disparidade presente no cenário contemporâneo. O objetivo deste trabalho é aplicar os Indicadores Ethos de Responsabilidade Social Empresarial em uma empresa que adotou um novo estilo de abordagem social: a Economia de Comunhão. A partir da aplicação dos indicadores, será possível mensurar e identificar as ações desenvolvidas por esta empresa e também avaliar se a prática dessas ações sociais atendem os preceitos da Responsabilidade Social Empresarial. / According to the current social, politic, and economic scenario, which is permeated with intense competitiveness, new proposals of management styles have been arising. In relation to social sphere, these proposals become more and more important and the organizations assume the role of rescuing human values and individuals social conditions. Thus, organizations have been acting as agents of change and are co-responsible for the reconstruction of citizenship and welfare state. This study seeks to identify and to characterize two kinds of social management proposals: the Business and Social Responsibility and the Economy of Sharing. Both of them appear in an attempt to reduce social exclusion, to eradicate poverty and to decrease the social disparity that is present in contemporary scenario. The objective of this work is to apply the Indices from Ethos Institute for Business and Social Responsibility in an enterprise that had adopted a new way of social approach: the Economy of Sharing. From de application of these indices, there will be possible to measure and to identify the actions developed by this enterprise, as well as to evaluate if the practice of these social actions considers Business and Social Responsibility precepts.

As contribuições da Economia de Comunhão para o estudo da influência de valores no ambiente organizacional

Therefore we got data about this model still not well known in the academic area. The method used for the research had a qualitative approach emphasizing in the company FEMAQ S.A., using a semi-structured interview technique, observation and document analysis as our sources for data collection. To reach this objective, at first we had to define the difference between the concepts of Solidarity Economy and Economy of Sharing , due to some confusion that has been sometimes been happening between these two models. Afterwards we covered some theoretical basic concepts, about the research developed such as: values, organizational values, philosophy (life), solidarity, character and gift. In a third part we emphasized the aspects of the origin, discourse and repercussion of Economy of Sharing. We came to the conclusion that evidence found in this research, such as a more human relationship, trust, family environment, possibility of the being human (not perfect) and others seem to qualify this company in this style of management, which is characteristic of Economy of Sharing. / Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo verificar se os princípios de gestão da Economia de Comunhão, caracterizada por aspectos solidários, humanos e religiosos, são evidenciados na dinâmica de uma organização que adere a esta proposta. Para isso fez-se imprescindível levantar informações sobre este modelo, pouco conhecido no meio acadêmico. O método utilizado para a pesquisa baseou-se na abordagem qualitativa, com ênfase no estudo de caso da empresa FEMAQ S.A., recorrendo-se à entrevista semi-estruturada, à observação e ao levantamento documental como técnicas de coleta dos dados. Para que o objetivo fosse alcançado, no primeiro momento foram diferenciados os conceitos da Economia de Comunhão e Economia Solidária, dado a confusão que por vezes tem ocorrido entre estes dois conceitos que subsidiam diferentes modelos. Em seguida foram abordados os conceitos teóricos fundamentais, sobre os quais a pesquisa foi desenvolvida: valores, valores organizacionais, filosofia (de vida), solidariedade, caráter e dádiva. Na terceira parte foram enfatizados os aspectos da Economia de Comunhão, sua origem, discurso e repercussão. Concluiu-se que as diversas evidências encontradas na empresa estudada, como relacionamento mais humanizado, confiança, ambiente familiar, possibilidade de ser humano (não perfeito) e outros permitem classificá-la no estilo de gestão inerente ao modelo da Economia de Comunhão.

Platforms as Enablers for Industrial Symbiosis

The quest for sustainable industrial development demands the transition from the current linear to the circular economy. An inter-firm approach to drive this transition to a circular economy at a local or regional scale is industrial symbiosis, which refers to the exchange or sharing of underutilized resources between industrial plants to reap economic and environmental benefits. There is a widespread consensus in the scientific community on the merits and (anticipated) benefits of information systems and information technology (IT) to support and accelerate the emergence of industrial symbiosis by aiding all involved parties. Though the conceptualization and development of IT, in particular IT platforms, to support industrial symbiosis has gained momentum in recent years to facilitate industrial symbiosis, current research provides little insight and scarce guidance for the design, diffusion and continued operation of IT-supported industrial symbiosis. Especially, experiences and viewpoints of (potential) users and providers of such tools are hardly captured. On the one hand, this thesis elaborates on the status quo of research as well as practice of IT-supported industrial symbiosis and on the other it examines the potential contribution of IT platforms to facilitate industrial symbiosis and its IT support, by applying perspectives of knowledge management and platform as well as ecosystem theory to the field. Based on the gathered insights and a design science research process, this thesis proposes the Digital Industrial Symbiosis Ecosystem concept as proposal to overcome current issues and facilitate industrial symbiosis and the respective platforms.
