Efektivita výuky poznávání organismů na příkladu krytosemenných rostlin / Effectiveness of organism recognition using angiosperms as an example

Bukáčková, Alžběta January 2016 (has links)
Students are less interested in science studies in this time. Yet, it is evolving and indispensable field (medicine, genetics). Various fields of biology students are evaluated differently. Botany is not very popular for students and often even for their teachers. More popular may be, for example, human biology, zoology and emerging fields such as genetics. Studying of plants isn't interesting for pupils, memories of learning about plants for them often spending hours with the botanical atlas without practical training in the field or on an excursion. There is a reason to writing this thesis about identification of angiosperms in high school. The thesis deals with different methods used for teaching identification of angiosperm plants at Prague high schools and their effectiveness. It compares the different methods used by teachers of these schools, focuses on with ways of testing plants cognition and the number of species that pupils should be able to recognize. The high school teachers' expectations are compared with the university teachers' expectations of the knowledge of incoming biology students. Effectiveness of teaching was tested by recognizing the required species. Students were asked to recognise the fresh plants. The success rate of students of teachers who use to teach different...

A Comparative Study of Odessa College, Odessa, Texas, with Business Colleges in the Odessa Area to Determine the Effectiveness of Training Received by Business Students

Woods, John C. 08 1900 (has links)
The potential college students of the Odessa area need to know which type of school best suits their personal needs. The area around Odessa offers the highest paid secretarial Jobs in the state, with some 500 oil and oil supply firms employing from one to fifty full-time secretaries, with salaries ranging from $200 to 4325 per month. The opportunities for accountants, bookkeepers and auditors in the Odessa area is unlimited, and they earn from 4350 to $450 per month. The Odessa area also employs approximately 30 business teachers. 1 The. high school graduate is often at a loss as to whether to take advantage of a business course in a private business college in Odessa or whether to study business administration for one or two years at the local junior college, either in preparation for a job or for additional education at another college or university. A great deal of time and money may be wasted if a potential student attends the school that does not fulfill his needs. In view of the above, the purpose of this study is to make comparisons between the two types of schools in an effort to determine the type of school most suited for each student, and to pave the way for improvements in business education in that area. These facts will be helpful in planning the future curriculum and expansion of Odessa College and the possible establishment of a business school in connection with Odessa College.

A way of computer use in mathematics teaching -The effectiveness that visualization brings-

Yamamoto, Shuichi, Ishii, Naonori 22 May 2012 (has links) (PDF)
We report a class of the mathematics in which an animation technology (calculating and plotting capabilities) of the software Mathematica is utilized. This class is taught for university students in a computer laboratory during a second semester. It is our purpose to make a student realize the usefulness and the importance of mathematics easily through visualization. In addition, we hope that students will acquire a new power of mathematics needed in the 21st century. For several years, we have continued this kind of class, and have continued to investigate the effectiveness that our teaching method (especially visualization) brings in the understanding of the mathematics. In this paper, we present some of this teaching method, which is performed in our class. From the questionnaire survey, it is found that our teaching method not only convinces students that the mathematics is useful or important but also deepens the mathematic understanding of students more.
