Investment in secondary and tertiary education for economic growth: lessons for Rwanda from selected less developed countries.

Gisanabagabo, Sebuhuzu January 2006 (has links)
<p>This research explored two interrelated issues in development economics. FIrstly, it investigated the importance of secondary and tertiary education for long-run growth of low-income economics. Secondly, it examined possible ways to invest in these higher levels of education. It draws on insights on these two issues to highlight lessons for Rwanda where policy makers have set out plans to build a knowledge economy in which science and technology would form the basis of the modern enterprise.</p>

Hur påverkar utbildning strålsäkerheten vid genomlysningsledda undersökningar? : - en systematisk litteraturöversikt / How does education affect radiation safety when using fluoroscopy? : - a systematic literature review

Wikström, Linda, Vestergren, Anna January 2016 (has links)
Introduction: Fluoroscopy guided interventions are becoming more and more common and are used in several specialities, even outside of the radiology department. Fluoroscopy is the modality, which is causing the highest radiation doses and it is also the modality that is reported to give the most radiation overexposures worldwide. Purpose: The purpose of this systematic literature review was to describe how education affects radiation protection when using fluoroscopy. Method: This bachelor thesis was conducted as a systematic literature review. The results are based on ten quantitative scientific articles. Results: Education gives results in terms of increased awareness of radiation safety, lower radiation doses and reduced fluoroscopy times. The education may take various forms. It can be theoretical, practical or a combination of these two. Conclusion: There is a significant correlation between education and radiation safety. Education and checklists increase user knowledge and improve their working techniques, which contributes to lower radiation doses, shorter fluoroscopy times and increased awareness of radiation safety. Users of fluoroscopy have inadequate knowledge in radiation protection and training in radiation safety needs to be improved.
