Denna uppsats undersöker hur naturupplevelser på en utvald plats kan omvandlas till musik i en kompositionsprocess. Den utforskar också hur denna omvandlingsprocess kan utvidga och berika en intuitiv kompositionsprocess och hur detta påverkar tonsättarens estetik. De utvalda platserna är ett strandlandskap utanför Piteå och en fjällsjö utanför Kiruna i norra Sverige. Den valda metoden inkluderar kompositionsprocessen av två musikstycken, ett för kammarensemble och ett för symfoniorkester. Kompositionsprocessens fokus har varit omvandlingen från visuella, audiella och taktila mönster, ljud och material, och integrerar även dokumentation av visuella mönster och inspelningar av autentiska ljud av nylagd havsis och dess kontakt med vatten. Skisser, laborationer med musiker, och inkluderandet av Robert Eks utvidgade klarinett med MiM-teknologi har också varit en del av kompositionsprocessen och studien. Resultatet är två komponerade stycken: Seascape Patterns för NorrlandsOperans Symfoniorkester och Ice Glyph för den nutida kammarensemblen Norrbotten NEO, både som partitur och video/ljudfiler. / This thesis investigates how nature experiences can be transformed into music in a composition process. It also explores how this transformative process can expand and enhance an intuitive composing process and investigates how this affects the esthetics of the composer. The landscapes choosen are a seashore outside Piteå, and a mountain lake area outside Kiruna in the north of Sweden. The method used have included the composition processes of two pieces of music, one for contemporary chamber ensemble and one for symphony orchestra. The focus of the composition process has been the transition from visual, auditive and tactile patterns, sounds and materials, and has incorporated documentation of visual patterns and field recordings of authentic sounds of freezing ice and water. Sketches and laborative workshops with musicians, including Robert Eks augmented clarinet with MiM technology have also been a part of the composition process and the study. The result was two composed pieces: Seascape Patterns for NorrlandsOperans Symphony Orchestra and Ice Glyph for the contemporary chamber ensemble Norrbotten NEO, both as scores and recordings/audio files.
