Projektering av ett LAN; Summit Kista / Projection of a LAN; Summit Kista

Johansson Sävenberg, David January 2016 (has links)
The purpose of this project is to build a local area network for Summit, a company in Kista outside the city of Stockholm, which is also for the use of their customers. The aim was that the local area network should be usable by at least 400 customers simultaneously and that the LAN should be both reliable and secure. I began the project with a pilot study where I researched different methods I could use to help me build the network. Over the course of the project I chose hardware that was suitable for the network’s needs; I configured it; and I documented the whole network. When I was finished with the configuration and documentation I installed the whole network in the building. The result of this project is a huge success as a fully working local area network.  I also managed to implement all the network’s needs described in the specification: everything from the network’s speed to how the network is segmented for the most secure way of handling sensitive data.

A Comparative Study of Efficient Power Amplifiers in CMOS

Östberg, Gustav January 2008 (has links)
<p><p>During later years communication schemes for handheld devices have increased in complexity due to the desire to increase the throughput, i.e. the amount of information sent over a medium simultaneously. Increasing throughput can be accomplished, not only by modulating the phase or frequency, but also the amplitude. This leads to tougher requirements on the power amplifier. The conventional power amplifiers, which have the ability to follow the envelope of the carrier, are inefficient. This thesis aims to compare two old but revived architectures which exploit high-efficiency amplifiers and still have a linear relationship between the input and output. The architectures; the Polar Linearization Technique and Outphasing share the same foundation. Based on literature, the polar technique have been more successful of employing examples fufilling communication standards. The polar technique is also more versatile regarding power combiners, distortion correction and alternative implementations. The simulations performed in this thesis results show that the polar amplifier is less sensitive to process variations and has higher maximum efficiency. On the other hand, the outphasing topology have the highest linearity figures.</p></p>

Sound Level Measurement System

Johansson, Tore January 2006 (has links)
<p>The purpose of this master thesis work is to design a device that measures the loudness of sound for different frequencies. This device is divided in three parts; a microphone that captures the sound, one A/D converter that samples the sound and one FPGA which analyse the data using an FFT algorithm.</p><p>LEDs connected to the FPGA are used to indicate different output levels. A db(A) filter is applied that weights each frequency, before the different outputlevels are measured for each frequency. </p><p>This system is supposed to be a subsystem to a larger system that is developed in a company. However, because of the risk that competitors might be able to guess the next product move of the company, the company is anonymous in this report. All the components used are paid for by the company and in return the company gets an idea of the complexity of the system and a basis for future design decisions.</p>

Konstruktion Signalgenerator

Andersson, Tommy, Algilany, Gazwan January 2009 (has links)
<p>SAAB Aerotech division FGR in Arboga builds and develops equipment and components used in both military and civilian applications. To build a test system for a specific project that SAAB is responsible for requires a simple signal generator that can provide a pulse modulated signal. The need to buy a new advanced signal generator for example from Agilent is not as profitable as the instrument is expensive and contains features that SAAB does not require in their applications and test systems. That was the reason why SAAB offers two students a thesis where the goal is to construct a signal generator in accordance with what SAAB requests.</p><p>This thesis contains several different phases. The first step was a meeting with our supervisor Mats Bergman and by reading the data sheets for components to be used in the project, with these information and specifications that we have received from SAAB we started to construct the signal generator.</p><p>What we did during the construction work was to simulate and draw a schematic to be able to design the circuit board. Simulation was done both in software and on laboration board. The card is then ordered from a circuit board manufacturer in Bulgaria. On the finished card the components will be fitted. Then the card will plugged in into a rack and then presented finished as a signal generator that can be used in a test system.</p><p>The final results of all phases are satisfactory in the part of design and laboratory work. The finished mother board was tested and test results corresponded well with the theory.

Optimization of Antenna Pair for Diversity Gain

Yousaf, Irfan Mehmood January 2008 (has links)
<p>In the latest development in the field of telecommunications it has been observed that a lot is expected from the mobile systems. All kinds of communication standards such as Bluetooth, 3G, W-LAN etc. should be present in the same handset. This requires higher data transmission rates and low bit error probability. One of the major problems in achieving this is fading and multi path environment. The other problem is the growing trend of decreasing size of the electronic devices specially handsets. The handsets are getting smaller and thinner. Due to this the antennas in the device come very close to each other which causes high coupling between the antennas resulting in bad diversity gain. Antenna diversity is considered to be one of easier solution to overcome these problems. This thesis presents an implementation of receiver antenna diversity and suggests different optimised networks between the antenna ports for better diversity gain keeping in view the antenna efficiencies. The thesis involves the following steps: simulating the structures, suggesting different networks between the two antenna ports, optimisation and hardware implementation of the networks and finally measurements in reverberation chamber.</p>

Konstruktion av utläsningselektronik och mjukvara för trådlös avläsning av tryckta fuktsensoretiketter / Design and implementationof readout electronics for wireless reading of printed humidity sensors

Landelius, Jacob, Nyberg, Andreas January 2013 (has links)
This bachelor thesis has been written at Linköping University in collaboration with Acreo Swedish ICT AB. Acreo is a research institute that performs applied research in optics, electronics and information technology. The goal of the thesis has been to design and construct electronics that can read a passive humidity sensor label, which is produced with printed electronics. These labels are to be placed inside walls at construction sites, to provide an easy method of determining the level of moisture inside the walls, and thereby prevent costly damages due to moisture. The work has consisted of component tests, schematic design, PCB design and programming of microprocessors. This project has led to a working prototype of a humidity sensor label reader.

Development of a FPGA-based development platform for real-time control of combustion engine parameters

Bohlin, Henrik January 2011 (has links)
Today’s increased regulatory demands on emissions and hard competition drives manufacturers of heavy vehicles to try new technologies in an attempt to fulfill regulations and get ahead of competitors. This paper describes the development of a platform that is to be used as a tool to evaluate the possibilities of incorporating an FPGA in the future ECUs of Scania CV AB. Requirements for such a platform are examined and presented. These requirements are then implemented as a technology demonstrator able to sample signals from sensors and performing computations using the sampled data. The technology demonstrator is also equipped with an interface to which current ECUs can be connected.
