The Master's Thesis Sigfrid Karg-Elert: Passacaglia and Fugue on B-A-C-H, op.150 concentrates both on the composer's life and this specific composition. The thesis traces the history of the formation of the composition. It begins by offering insights into the perception of music at the beginning of the 20th Century. I then attempt to show the relationship between the composer's life and his work, dealing with his musical language and his various compositions.
