The project observed the historical context of the risens , the history of resistance of the Indian and Caboclo family, and the participative management of the NGOs Non-governmental Organizations that mediated the procedures of reorganization of ethnicity. It was identified on the educational process, the learning of political knowledge that conducted to the official ethnicity. The social inclusion, the participation and the emancipation were concepts that mobilized the group that looked for occupy a symbolic place in the current context. The cultural identity learning, its recognition, provided significant gains in citizenship. Citizenship understood as a process in construction and unfinished. The research was developed on the qualitative approach, using as a procedure the case study. It was used two sources to answer the proposed objective: one documental written and another oral done by interviews partially structured. The interview was done with thirteen people, among them ten members from the ethnicity, and three managers of educational organizations of the Aranã indians, at the completion of a Scientific Initiation Project, of the Pontifical Catholic University from Minas Gerais. / A pesquisa intitulada Educação, identidade e cidadania: uma leitura da ação política do povo ressurgido Aranã teve como objetivo compreender o processo de educação política desencadeado pelos índios aranãs na Região Norte do Estado de Minas Gerais. O projeto observou o contexto histórico dos ressurgidos , a história de resistência da família Índio e Caboclo, e a gestão participativa das ONGs (organizações não governamentais) que mediaram os procedimentos de reorganização da etnia. Identificamos, no processo pedagógico, a aprendizagem de saberes políticos que conduziram para a oficialidade a etnia. A inclusão social, a participação e a emancipação foram conceitos que mobilizaram o grupo que buscou ocupar um lugar simbólico que lhe fora negado. O aprendizado da identidade cultural, seu reconhecimento, proporcionou ganhos significativos na cidadania, esta entendida como um processo em construção e não finalizado. A pesquisa se desenvolveu na abordagem qualitativa, utilizando como procedimento o estudo de caso. Utilizou duas fontes para responder ao objetivo proposto: uma documental escrita e outra oral, feita por meio de entrevistas parcialmente estruturadas. A entrevista foi realizada com treze pessoas, entre elas dez membros da etnia, e três gestores de organizações educacionais dos índios aranãs, por ocasião da realização de um projeto de iniciação científica da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais.
