Vliv přijetí společné měny euro na export

Urbanová, Daniela January 2019 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the impact of euro adoption on export. Two basic channels of an impact of the adoption of the common currency are identified, namely the reduction of the exchange rate risk and the loss of an autonomous monetary policy. The main contribution of the thesis is the application of the exchange rate stability index and the index of monetary independence as variables representing the mentioned channels and the assessment of their impact on exports in the empirical analysis. The regression analysis of the panel data with fixed effects is used because of the heterogeneity of EU states. In addition to the aforementioned indices, a foreign demand and the nominal effective exchange rate are included in the models. The results indicate that the exchange rate stability index and a foreign demand have a positive and statistically significant impact on export. The empirical analysis uses monthly data for 25 countries of the European Union during the period from January 1994 to May 2017.

Faktory vývoje stínového bankovnictví v eurozóně

Peterka, Vít January 2019 (has links)
Peterka V., Determinants of Shadow banking development in euro area. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2019. Diploma thesis focuses on determinants influencing Shadow banking in euro area countries. The aim of this thesis is to identify these factors by using panel data regression analysis and OLS and WLS estimators. Factors/variables are segmented into three groups, gradually added into models and changes in coefficients values are observed because of stability. The final model is created based on the process of gradually added variables and then replicated by using WLS method. According theoretical background and empirical analysis there are mentioned factors/variables influencing a growth of shadow banking in euro area countries in period 2009 - 2017. Significant variables with influence on the growth of Shadow banking are: unemployment rate, bank sector size, stock price index, capital regulation index and index of financial development.

Analýza vzájemné závislosti výnosů z vládních dluhopisů v EU / Time-scale analysis of sovereign bonds market co-movement in the EU

Šmolík, Filip January 2014 (has links)
The thesis analyses co-movement of 10Y sovereign bond yields of 11 EU mem- bers (Greece, Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Germany, Netherlands, Great Britain, Belgium, Sweden and Denmark) divided into the three groups (the Core of the Eurozone, the Periphery of the Eurozone, the states outside the Eurozone). In the center of attention are changes of co-movement in the crisis period, especially near the two significant dates - the fall of Lehman Brothers (15.9.2008) and the day, when increase of Greek public deficit was announced (20.10.2009). Main contribution of the thesis is usage of alternative methodol- ogy - wavelet transformation. It allows to research how co-movement changes across scales (frequencies) and through time. Wavelet coherence is used as well as wavelet bivariate and multiple correlation. The thesis brings three main findings: (1) co-movement significantly decreased in the crisis period, but the results differ in the groups, (2) co-movement significantly differs across scales, but its heterogeneity decreased in the crisis period, (3) near to the examined dates sharp and significant decrease of wavelet correlation was observable across lower scales in some states. Stabilita eurozóny v kontextu dopadů ekonomické krize / Stability of the euro area in the context of the impact of economic crisis

Malinová, Lucie January 2011 (has links)
The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the stability of the euro area in the context of the impact of the economic crisis. The work is divided into three chapters. The theory of optimum currency area was identified as a fundamental theoretical basis for subsequent analysis, and then Ireland and Portugal were chosen as the two countries representing vulnerable economies, which have been subjected to more detailed examination and comparison. These two parts were for the coherence of the whole work set in the historical context of European monetary integration. The first part deals with a theory of optimal currency area. The first chapter is further analysis of potential benefits and costs of the monetary area. The second chapter focuses on the historical context of monetary integration in Europe and recent developments in euro area countries. The theme of the third chapter is to compare the impact of the crisis on the Irish and the Portuguese economy. This chapter focuses on the main causes of the crisis in Ireland and then in Portugal, the impact of the crisis on them and stability restoring program adopted in the context of drawing loans from the European Commission, ECB and IMF. In the last part of the third chapter the causes and effects of the crisis in Ireland and Portugal were mutually compared. Vyhodnocení ekonomických závislostí mezi EU a sousedskými zeměmi východní Evropy / Assessing Economic Linkages between the EU and the Eastern Europe Neighbours

Moisei, Daniela January 2018 (has links)
Charles University Faculty of Social Sciences Institute of Economic Studies MASTER'S THESIS Assessing Economic Linkages between the EU and the Eastern Europe Neighbours Author: Bc. DanielaMoisei Supervisor: Prof. Roman Horváth, Ph.D. Academic Year: 2017/2018 Abstract The proposed study analyses the economic linkages between five Central and Eastern European countries (Czech Republic, Romania, Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine) and the euro area, in the period 2006-2017, applying the block-restriction vector autoregression model. It allows evaluating the amplitude and persistence of the domestic vs. euro area shocks on four macroeconomic indicators: real GDP, short-term interest rate, CPI, and FX rate. The main findings emphasize that EU members are more economically synchronized with the euro area, responding to external factors in less than 10 months. Nevertheless, the Central Banks of the East European countries react extensively to the ECB monetary policy shocks, following broadly its short-term interest rate. Eastern Neighbourhood countries and Central EU members demonstrated tight connections with the euro area, in terms of international transmission of price shocks and economic activity synchronization. Thus, Czech Republic and Romania could be relevant models for the Eastern European countries, reaching...

Cesta ČR do Eurozóny - očekávané efekty / The way of the Czech Republic to eurozone - expected impacts

Svatoňová, Petra January 2008 (has links)
This graduation theses seeks to analyse expected gains arising from adoption of Europe's single common currency, costs of such adoption and potentional risks.Conception of this analysis is based on the Theory of Optimal Currency Areas alongside empirical studies regarding the same matter. The first chapter summarizes the historical development of european monetary integration and the position of euro in the world monetary system. The second chapter is devoted to the principles of the Theory of Optimal Currency Areas and the asymmetric shocks. The requirements of the Theory of Optimal Currency Areas are tested on the example of the current member states in eurozone. The following two chapters describe expected economic gains and costs connected with the membership of the Czech Republic in eurozone. The last chapter considers possible ways of determining the most suitable timeframe for entrance of the Czech Republic into eurozone.

Aktuálne problémy Európskej menovej únie / Current Problems of the European Monetary Union

Hrabovský, Jaroslav January 2010 (has links)
The diploma thesis identifies and assesses current problems of the European Monetary Union, based on: firstly, theoretic approach which reviews the position of monetary union within the range of alternative exchange rate regimes, secondly, historic approach which explains evolutionary principle in the process of European monetary integration, and thirdly, economic approach which analyses the viability of the euro area by application of the criteria of the optimum currency area theory. Subsequently, the roots and development of today's euro area crisis are described and also future scenarios of development in Greece and entire euro area are briefly outlined. The analysis shows that the European Monetary Union by far does not meet the optimum currency area criteria and thus the euro area is considerably vulnerable to future asymmetric shocks.

Viacrýchlostná Európska únia a jej dopady na Slovensko / Multi-speed European Union and its impacts on Slovakia

Stanová, Zuzana January 2013 (has links)
Multi-speed European Union is a very up-to-date topic especially in terms of the finance and debt crisis, which deepened the differences between member states' economies. Multi-speed integration is one of the ways how to satisfy the claims of all member states, respect their different socioeconomic conditions and interests and at the same time not to disturb the integration process. The objective of this thesis is to introduce the concept of multi-speed integration from different theoretical points of view, to outline its historical development and assess its positive and negative impacts on the EU as a whole and on Slovakia. The analysis of impacts of the Economic and Monetary Union's multi-speed character on Slovakia is the key part of this thesis. These impacts on Slovakia are both positive and negative, but some of them cannot be categorized in general. In the aggregate the positive impacts prevail.

Česká republika a přijetí eura na pozadí makroekonomických nerovnováh / Czech Republic and the adoption of euro on the background of macroeconomic imbalances

Caletka, Petr January 2014 (has links)
This work is aimed to determine whether the Czech Republic is ready to enter to the third stage of European economic and monetary union which is associated with the adoption of the euro, and that regarding the fulfillment of the formal entry criteria and also in terms of alignment of the Czech economy with the rest of the eurozone. On that basis evaluate whether it is advantageous for the country to adopt the euro. The first part introduces the different stages of regional integration, as well as the theory of optimum currency areas and economic governance in the European Union. The second chapter is devoted to evaluate the readiness of the Czech Republic to join the euro zone from three perspectives. First, fulfillment of nominal convergence criteria is evaluated. Real convergence and macroeconomic imbalances within the euro area are assessed using cluster analysis. The second approach is to analyze whether EMU constitute an optimal currency area. At the end the experience, of three countries of the eastern enlargement, with changeover to a common currency are presented.
