Komparace současné hospodářské krize s Velkou hospodářskou krizí (USA a velké evropské ekonomiky) / Comparison between the Great Depression and the Recent Crisis through Economy of the USA and through Economies of Chosen European Countries

Darmová, Kateřina January 2011 (has links)
This period was marked by severe financial and political economic crisis which is, for its results, considered as one of the most unpleasant in our history. Regarding its devastating consequences, it is very often compared to Great Depression, which afflicted people in 1930. Even if there is one decade dynamic development between these two crises, it is possible to observe several similar parallels. The main target of my work is to answer the question, whether these parallels are really similar, through the use of analysis of individual crisis and also through their comparison to economics of USA and other selected European countries (UK, France, Germany). The first subject of our interest will be the analysis of pre-crisis period, which is basically the principle of the whole work. Afterwards I will examine the process of individual crisis itself, together with reactions from the government. This overall comparison should give us information, whether there are the same processes that characterised the development in interwar time nowadays, or whether this resemblance is fully accidental.

Dotace ze strukturálních fondů v obcích ČR a jejich závislost v prostoru / Spatial Pattern of Subsidies from the Structural Funds: The Case of Czech Municipalities

Pumprlová, Magda January 2018 (has links)
The thesis aims to uncover spatial patterns of subsidies from the European Union funds while focusing on the 2007-2013 programming period in the Czech Republic. We take into account demographic, economic and political charac- teristics of municipalities with the extended power to determine their relevance on the size of the obtained subsidy. Furthermore, subsidies may be clustered in the space due to some common regional characteristics that cannot be easily measured, or due to cooperation/competitiveness of the municipalities. Our results from the models estimated by the Ordinary Least Squares sug- gest that municipality's population, the number of businesses, the debt of pre- vious periods, and the mayor's affiliation to the political party are significant in explaining the size of the subsidy. Based on following tests, Moran's I and Lagrange Multiplier test, we incorporate the spatial models estimated by the Maximum Likelihood Estimator. We find that the subsidies managed by the regional council disperse across the given region, indicating a hidden common characteristic or regional council's endogenous interventions. Kottasová, Anna January 2017 (has links)
This thesis evaluates the regulation of credit institutions. Its aim is to answer the question of how the regulation of credit institutions evolved and how this development influenced current regulation. This thesis examines the potential of credit institution regulation to prevent further financial crises. At first the author deals with the development of the market of financial services and subsequently with the development of regulation of credit institutions. In the first part the author analyses the positive and negative aspects of each piece of legislation, reasons for their adoption, changes or their further use. This thesis deals particularly with capital adequacy requirements. It analyses their gradual development and reason for their amendments, especially in the context of the recent financial crisis. The author concludes that that current se-up of the credit institution regulation and its expected development puts too much emphasis in increasing of the capital adequacy requirements. The author sees this aspect especially in the directive on capital requirements from 2013 which presents new buffers that the credit institutions are required to hold and in the resolution directive from 2014 which adds new, yet similar requirements.
