Polyfunkční objekt / Multifunctional building

Lauko, Marek January 2020 (has links)
The aim of the diploma thesis is to prepare documentation for construction. The building is partially basement and in terms of building physics is designed as a building with almost zero energy consumption. For the purpose of the work is chosen multifunctional object, which consists of veterinary clinic and shop with pet supplies. The building land is located in the cadastral area of Brno-Královo Pole in a built-up area designated for mixed areas of trade and services on a relatively flat plot no. 4800/28 on Edisonova Street. The new building is located on the southeast side of the property, which is followed by parking from the northwest side. The purpose, appearance and volume of the building do not interfere in any way with the character of the territory. Veterinary clinic is partially basement with two floors. In the basement is a technical background for the whole multifunctional building. On the first floor is a waiting room with a reception and two examination rooms, an office and a changing room for employees. On the floor are specialized workplaces, X-ray, ultrasonographic, otoscopic, laboratory and operating room together with hospitalization for animals. The shop with pet supplies is designed as a single storey, consisting of a sale area with a warehouse and facilities for employees. The southeast facade is covered with expanded metal. The construction system of the building is wall-mounted, made of ceramic bricks for thin-layer mortar. Ceiling constructions are designed from large-area filigree panels. The roof is vegetational.

Development of a framework for the design of expanded metal facades : Using artificial intelligence to streamline pre-production work

Larsson, Linnéa, Ståhlbrand, Moa January 2022 (has links)
The field of design automation aims to automate repetitive tasks in a workflow in order to free up time for more productive work. In this thesis, design automation with the help of AI techniques is investigated to streamline the pre-production work of expanded metal facades.  Two different problems concerning pre-production work are investigated in this thesis. The first one focuses on how to translate architectural drawings in pdf format to a bill of material. The second problem aims to develop a non-linear method for calculating the free area of the expanded metal facades. The method used for this project is an adaptation of the product development process with the inspiration of knowledge-based engineering.  For the first project, the AI method template matching was successfully used. With a script using this method, most of the panels are identified, except for panels where the drawings do not provide clear lines or where lines around the panels do not exist. The line quality in the architectural drawings was shown to impact the size estimation of the panels. In the second project, a non-linear machine learning model was developed. However, it was not managed within this project to get a good enough accuracy. The main reason for this is that it is suspected that the data is not accurate enough, nor are the 78 data points enough to train the model.

Konststycket / A Piece of Art

Hoas, Helena January 2014 (has links)
The project is about creating a new art museum in Uppsala, situated in the area behind Uppsala centralstation, where extensive retouching of the area recently was made. The long and slender character of the buildning derives from the shape of the old cargo warehouse next to the museum, and from the shape of the plot. Through the building runs a passage that lends pedestrian a shortcut through it, which will bring life to the area. Along the passage through the museum, the ground floor of the building is entirely covered by windows, in order to give passing strollers a glimpse of what is happening inside the museum. The entrance, the educational activities and the café is situated along the passage. The facade of the museum is inspired by the arabic mashrabiya fenomenon. The exterior facade of the building is entirely covered with windows which in turn are covered with screens of expanded metal. Daylight may enter through the tiny holes in the screens, while at the same time the metal screens manages to keep some of the secrets of the museum from the people passing by. The inner walls, made of concrete, form a diagonal grid inside the building, creating two types of rooms. The inner rooms, which are quadratic and have a more closed and darker character, and the outer rooms which are triangular and receive light from the outside through the expanded metal screens. At nighttime, instead the museum itself lights the place around it.

Nádraží VRT letiště Brno Tuřany / HST Station at the Airport Brno Tuřany

Svobodová, Lenka January 2012 (has links)
Main topic of this Masters Thesis is design of railway station for high speed line railway. Building site is situated in East Moravian region in the district of Brno-Tuřany. The building is designed as a detached two-storey object standing on the bridge over the railway. Mass of the building consists of two trimmed blocks which are mutually mirrored. The mass of both parts of the building is pervaded by illuminating stripe. Its shape is also based on the shape of trimmed block and rises over the surrounding surfaces. There are placed vertical paths in the stripes. It helps passengers in orientation because these are visible even from the outside of the building. This arrangement of individual masses symbolizes both direction of the arrival of trains to the station. There is placed arrival and departure hall in the middle of the object. Its height is similar to the height of the object itself. The hall is surrounded by the service facilities of the railway station situated on two floors. The supporting structure is made of steel. Both peripheral housing and roof are supported by the frame construction consisting of planar lattice beams. Construction of the façade is composed of frame system Wicona. The peripheral housing is tiled with panels of expanded metal.

Obchodní dům "Centrum" v Brně / "Centrum" Department Store in Brno

Dvořáková, Zuzana January 2014 (has links)
The subject of the thesis is an architectural study of the reconstruction and extension of the "Centrum" department store in Brno. It is a dominant building designed by the famous czech architect Vladimir Karfík, which is located at the Urban Conservation Area Brno. Object wasn´t realized with the full extent of the original proposal, so in the project is planned a completion of it. The new solution respects the historical quality of Urban Conservation Area Brno with a concurrent view of the location on the lucrative land in the city center. The architectural concept is based on a return to the original idea of the architect and the addition of my own creative contribution within the extension of the new floors. Draft of the extension is intended so that the individual parts of an object communicate with each other, but they are easily recognizable as well. This idea was filled by both parts linked together visually by horizontal lines and ripple, which is used on balconies of the extension and behind the facade of the current building by shielding walls. However it is emphasized the contrast between an enclosed mass and a free-flowing space. The existing part of the building is used especialy as a leasable area of trade and services. On the upper floors there are areas of administration. Furthermore, there will be a restaurant and cafe with exhibition galleries and apartments are designed on the new added floors. The building is adapted to use by person with limited mobility. Newly added uses in the object will increase the attractiveness of the building and its surroundings.
