______________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / Using the Hamiltonian of a modified version of the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model, we investigated the creation of excitons and their subsequent dynamics in conjugated polymers. The model was modified to take into account temperature effects as well as external electric field, interchain interactions, photoexcitation processes and impurities. In order to describe the time evolution of the system, the behavior of triplet excitons was analyzed in the scope of the Ehrenfest molecular dynamics. Based on amplitude and frequency data, it was possible to establish a distinction between the response of different oscillating dipoles depending on the given excitation and temperature considered, provided nonzero thermal regimes were applied. When it comes to the excitons dynamics solely considering temperature, it was possible to characterize the diffusive process of the quasi-particles as being mainly due to “random walk" effect, rather than being primarily originated from a concentration gradient.
