För sakens skull : Det omöjliga mötet i Rut Hillarps roman Sindhia - en lacansk läsning

Arbelius, Karin January 2006 (has links)

This essay examines the love affair between the two main characters of Rut Hillarp’s novel Sindhia. It draws attention to the schism between the Surrealist version of love as an extatic-religious fusion of the sexes – that in a way marks the relationship – and the yet remarkable coolness between the two lovers.

With the theories of French psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan, I will show how the man and the woman project their unrealistic individual fantasies on each other, thus rendering impossible the Surrealist Meeting, with its road to an absolute reality. The Surrealist "l’amour fou", I will argue, is trapped in the ritualized "l’amor interruptus"; a lacanian term for a certain kind of love that wishes to conceal the fact that desire will never find its object. It does so by pretending that the object would be found if only love had been consummated (thus the reason love is never consummated, since, as Lacan puts it, the object, or the Thing, is never to be found).

I will, in brief, argue that the love affair depicted in the novel in different ways tries to deal with the “lack-of-being” that marks the subject according to Lacan; the absolute distance to the desirable Thing.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Ricardo Monteiro Guedes de Almeida.pdf: 2066241 bytes, checksum: 71b6bcd10a6230f6e6b94754338a8997 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2017-05-12 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / The purpose of the present study was to investigate the notion of the construction of the fundamental fantasy in Lacan, aiming at a possible articulation with the Freudian concept of Durcharbeitung. Our guiding question was how the construction of the fundamental fantasy imposes itself as a limit to the tireless work of the analysand's perlaboration. We start from the notion that the construction of the fundamental fantasy indicates a limit to the persistent work of the significant articulation, characterized by the Durcharbeitung, as well as an opening for the notion of a finite analysis. To develop this thesis, we mainly cover the works of Jacques Lacan. With this purpose, we limited ourselves to his teachings from 1957 to 1967, a period that goes from Seminar 5: the formations of the unconscious to Seminar 14: the logic of fantasy. In our last chapter, based on Seminar 14, the logic of fantasy, we approached Klein's quadrangle and the way Lacan uses it to represent the route of an analysis. Only then was it possible to address the fundamental fantasy as the subject's deadlock and its role in the route of the analytic process, more specifically in the work of Durcharbeitung. In conclusion, we defend that the fundamental fantasy, associated with the subject's deadlock, represents in the analysis a limit point to the work of Durcharbeitung. We understand that the fundamental fantasy was present both at the point of arrival of the time of understanding and also at the point of departure from the moment of conclusion / O presente estudo teve como propósito pesquisar a noção de construção da fantasia fundamental em Lacan, visando uma possível articulação com o conceito freudiano de Durcharbeitung.
