A GA-Fuzzy-Based Voting Mechanism for Microarray Data Classification

Chen, Ming-cheng 30 September 2008 (has links)
The microarray technology plays an important role of clinical oncology field. The patient can be diagnosed a symptom about cancer through microarray data. Currently, to solve classification of microarray data is still a wild open issue. Existing methods may have a good performance, but need to spend much time to analyze microarray data, such as SVM. In this thesis, we propose a novel GA-Fuzzy-based voting mechanism to find genes which affect the symptom to better diagnose patient. The proposed algorithm can blur the boundary between classes to handle the ambiguous regions. In order to simulate the gene selection mechanism, we proposed upper bound £\-Cut and lower bound £\-Cut in voting mechanism. Two groups of data collected from the literature are used to test the performance of the proposed algorithm. In the first group of dataset, experimental results show that the accuracies of five datasets using the proposed algorithm are better than those methods proposed by Pochet et al. But, there are the four datasets which the accuracies using the proposed algorithm are a little bit worse than the methods proposed by Pochet et al. For the second group of dataset, the accuracies of seven datasets using the proposed algorithm are better than KerNN proposed by Xiong and Chen. But, there are four datasets which the accuracies using the proposed algorithm are worse than KerNN proposed by Xiong and Chen. Nevertheless, experimental results show that the proposed algorithm performs the best for multi-class data.

Application of Lab VIEW in Smart Home Surveillance Systems

Chen, Kun-Wei 23 June 2011 (has links)
The objective of this research is to study smart home network systems and the application of Lab VIEW to develop man machine interface (MMI) so that traditional instrument panels can be replaced with virtual panels to reduce the consumption of hardware resources. For energy efficiency, the focus is on using MATLAB¡¦s fuzzy toolbox as the computing center and applying it to both lighting and air-conditioning systems. This thesis also looks into the use of Lab VIEW¡¦s CGI tools to develop remote monitoring functions as well as embedding the network related syntax into the Web pages. The user not only can use his/her computer equipment, but also their mobile devices (cell phone, PDA, pad, etc.) to link up to the networks and conduct remote monitoring, which enhances convenience and security. Hardware using wired control (PCI, Ethernet) and wireless control (ZigBee) could monitor the information from the components and transmit it to the computer for processing using the aforementioned method, and finally send it to the control end to complete the monitoring process. Choosing ZigBee wireless control is because it is more energy saving and network friendly than other wireless devices. It will have were opportunities to be used in home applications in the future. This thesis also integrates a fuzzy control for the power consumption. Test results show that adding fuzzy control can reduce power consumption. Besides using computers for remote monitoring functions, cell phones and pads were used as well.

A Study of Applying Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process on Management Talent Evaluation Model.

Wu, Yen-Hui 17 August 2000 (has links)
In the book of ¡§The Practice of Management.¡¨ Peter Drucker (1989), one of the most famous masters of management field, noted that being the only dynamic element of the company, the quality and performance of managers determine the fate of the company. Indeed, as the world changes getting faster and faster, the role manger played is becoming more and more important. In order to advance the competency managers need, enterprises worldwide are putting more and more effort to develop all kinds of competency assessment models that they can use as the base to make decision about managerial competency activities. Limited by the skill or ability of assessor, the traditional general assessment was unable to make fare judgments and the effect is hard to see. On the other hand, because the Assessment Center often takes longer time and more money to implement, it also limits the number of people to be assessed. Therefore, by using the AHP method of Multi-Criteria Evaluation to construct a new managerial competency assessment model, the assessor would be able to obtain the information needed to assist the relative managerial competency activities with a more systematic ways and fewer steps than before. The study adopted Borda Function and AHP method conduct a further survey and analysis with the semi-conductor industries. The findings are list as bellows: 1. Constructing the managerial competency assessment weighting system, is consisted of 8 main indicators and 39 sub-indicators, which shows a correct direction to conduct activities 2. Meaning on the scale of weighting indicators, indicates the relative degree of importance between indicators, which can show the key points to accelerate the effects of relative activities. 3. The AHP Management Competency Assessment Model is developed from the mathematics which can reflect the impact on decision making, caused by fuzzy situations and which can provide valuable information about the assessment management of management competency. 4. An empirical study was conducted to examine this model. The target of this empirical study is one electronics company. Top executives of the company heavily recognize this analytical result of the main evaluative indicator and sub-indicator. They consider this research¡¦s model having highly explanative capacity and can be reference of future managerial related activities. Lu, Shao-Yi 23 June 2003 (has links)
The distribution system containing numerous protective facilities and switch equipment ranges over a wide boundary . The most urgent problem the dispatcher has to tackle right after the breakdown of distribution system in how to resume as soon as possible power supply for the none-faulted out-of-service area. Therefore, distribution system service restoration is an important and practical subject. During the process of maintaining and operation ,the distribution district collected a lot of data. These data includes substation-related automatic operating data , switch section of doing a feeder , load data of high and low tension customers, and historical distribution system planning information concerning load transfer while operation, etc. The useful resource could help the dispatcher to get the best load transfer on distribution system service restoration. Datum-oriented researcher refers to the exploration of the concealing regulations and knowledge and the techniques regarding comprehensible model. This thesis manages to collect the maintaining and operation data of the distribution district ; it makes use of the information exploration techniques and ID3 decision tree and fuzzy theory to get the load transfer rule and knowledge , and to establish the load transfer model. After the fault occurred, it would help the dispatcher to get the best tactics for the load transfer on distribution system service restoration under the constraint condition. This thesis chooses the underground distribution system in sijhih of the Keeling District Offices of Taiwan Power Company as a sample. That underground distribution system comprising 8 distribution feeder ,73 distribution spaces,16 high tension customers, 28 feeder section, 4 feeder-tie-switch and 19 lateral-tie-switch will be simulated on computers to verify the proposed method for the distribution system service restoration.

Wang, Chung-Hsiang 22 July 2003 (has links)
After decades of development, Taiwan¡¦s IC industry has become the world¡¦s third largest manufacturing center, and claimed the positions of the world¡¦s first largest IC foundry industry, second largest packaging industry, as well as second largest IC design industry. For an industry to be successful, in addition to the provision of various niches and resources from private businesses, it requires the coordination of industrial policy-making, peripheral conditions, and infrastructures. Therefore, to enhance current competitive advantages and facilitate industrial transformation for greater competitiveness, the government needs to make effective industrial policy to promote competitive environment. For this reason, this study intends to investigate the current competitive environment of IC industry, how the government responds in terms of stipulating rules and regulations, and what the primary concerns of policy adoption are. It is clear that aside from an effort by businesses, the assistance from government is pivotal to industrial development as well. This study is an attempt to first, collect literature related to industrial analysis and policy; secondly, to analyze the competitive environment of IC industry and thereby find out the relevant policies that influence the managerial effectiveness of Taiwan¡¦s IC industry; and lastly, to survey IC companies and experts on IC industry by utilizing a questionnaire designed based on Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process. After prioritizing the concrete measures for a variety of dimensions of IC industrial policies based on the survey results, the researcher proposes top ten most emphasized including: the assistance in introduction of techniques, the training of technological talented, the aid in the development of SOC technique, the subsidy in R&D of innovative techniques, the accelerated depreciation on R&D equipments, the implementation of three-links, the tariff exemption for importing R&D equipments, the enhancement of National Defense Substitute Servicemen (NDSS), the training of marketing talented, and the enactment of patent rules. Modelagem fuzzy para fixação de trajetórias em sistemas caóticos. / Fuzzy modelling for trajectory fixation in chaotic systems.

Garms, Marco Antonio 16 August 2007 (has links)
A mapping of analytical tools for representation and computational treatment of Fuzzy Systems was made in this thesis. This mapping evidenced the existence of relations and the adequacy of the use of the Fuzzy Theory in the models construction for the problems solution involving dynamic systems e, in particular, of chaotic systems. A differentiation was considered about two types of Fuzzy Dynamic Systems - the Intrinsic Fuzzy Dynamic Systems (IFDS) and the Extrinsic Fuzzy Dynamic Systems (EFDS). The EFDS in the Fuzzy modeling is used for the problems solution of trajectories setting in chaotic systems. Case Studies had been developed that allow to verify, by means of simulation in billiards and tests in circuit of Chua (implemented in physical prototype), the adequacy of the use of this strategy in the solution of these problems. Related with Chua circuit, can be mentioned the following achievements: Computational treatment on real circuit; Use of a 8-bits AD converter followed by lowpass filter to compensate this low resolution signals reading; Use of gyrator circuit to implement the inductor used in this circuit; Proposal and accomplishment of a circuit to define the control resistor, via PC parallel port, of simple reproduction. Related with billiards, the following achievements are mentioned: Definition of a new billiard - Garms & Andrade Newtonian Billiard; Development of detailed equations of the simulations billiards analysis. When discussing again the Sequential Logic Fuzzy, is defined and developed, by means of the application of feedback in Sequential Circuits Fuzzy in the Dynamic Systems, an Astable Fuzzy (non-periodic oscillations), which exemplifies an IFDS. Finally, some interpretations of the Physics for the Fuzzy Theory are also presented with the use of the IFDS concept.
