Výpočetní analýza provozních deformací válcové jednotky vznětového motoru / Computational analysis of operational deformations of the diesel engine cylinder unit

Zalibera, Tomáš January 2020 (has links)
Submitted diploma thesis deals about operational deformations in the cylinder unit of turbocharged diesel engine used in commercial vehicles. Introductory part analyses combustion engines computational modelling based on finite element method. The next step is the creation of computational models for thermal-structural analyses of the piston and engine block. In order to determine material characteristics of the head gasket, experiment is performed on the OEM gasket to determine its real behaviour under compressive load. The results shows strong nonlinear behaviour which justifies the decision of making such an experiment in the first place. The results of computational models are radial deformations of the piston and cylinder liners during load conditions. The last chapter deals with the application of these results to an advanced computational piston assembly dynamics model.

Fractal sets and dimensions

Leifsson, Patrik January 2006 (has links)

Fractal analysis is an important tool when we need to study geometrical objects less regular than ordinary ones, e.g. a set with a non-integer dimension value. It has developed intensively over the last 30 years which gives a hint to its young age as a branch within mathematics. In this thesis we take a look at some basic measure theory needed to introduce certain definitions of fractal dimensions, which can be used to measure a set's fractal degree. Comparisons of these definitions are done and we investigate when they coincide. With these tools different fractals are studied and compared. A key idea in this thesis has been to sum up different names and definitions referring to similar concepts.

Řešení montážních deformací bloku motoru / Solution of Engine Block Deformations during Assembling

Foltis, Aleš January 2012 (has links)
Size and distribution of mount deformation are the main topics discussed in this thesis, using different static loading. The thesis’ primary focus is to show how deformation and stress of the engine block with cylinder liner are affected in the assembly order of the cylinder head. The calculation and evaluation of the solution are calculated by using method finite element, software Ansys. In addition other methods are discussed which can also measure the deformation of the engine block.
