Grenz ray therapy for inflammatory skin disorders

Lundqvist, Natalie January 2022 (has links)
Introduction Grenz ray therapy ( has long been used as treatment for inflammatory skindiaseases R ecent h ealth technology assessment reports have concluded that because ofinsufficient evidence of its efficacy they do not promote further use of GRT for benigndisorders. Aim T o investigate the effect, estimate remission times and summarize the outcome of the GRTseries administered over a six year period for the treatment of inflammatory diseases at theUniversity Hospital Örebro Methods A total of 204 treatment serie s were included by review of patient files spanningfrom 201 5 to 2020. Symptom scores of one to fifteen were recorded at start and end oftreatment. Data on recurrence was collected over a follow up period of 12 months after theend of treatment. Results Al l diagnoses had reduced symptom severity score s post treatment, with psoriasis ofthe scalp showing a 71.4% reduction and genital lichen showing a symptom score reductionof 25.0% Non reponse was lowest for hand dermatitis, and highest for lichen and eczema ofthe body. In patients with an initial effect post t reatment, a majority did not experience arecurrence within 12 months. Conclusion Positive effects were of GRT was indicated especially for scalp psoriasis andhand dermatitis, a ltough effect size is undetermined. The least effect was indicated for genitallichen. Hand dermatitis had the lowest recurrence rate in the follow up period. Furtherresearch of the subject is needed to determine the utility o f the method

Possibilités d’une théologie évangélique postmoderne et pratiques des Églises évangéliques en contexte québécois

Basque, Gérard 12 1900 (has links)
While a growing number of Anglo-Saxons evangelicals theologians define themselves as postmodernists, this Master thesis`s first aim is to understand what this means concretely. We will achieve this through the study one of the main reference books on the matter. We put forward that these postmodern theologians are developing a theology in opposition to the fondationalist theology. They also tend to oppose modernity’s absolute assumptions with postmodernism’s relativism. Yet, they argue in favor of a moderate relativism. This theological turn has concrete implication in regards to ecclesial practice, especially within emergent churches. However, these new trends of thoughts and practices are highly criticized by other evangelical theologians, bent on preserving the absolutes inherited from Cartesians, as well as consolidated ecclesial tradition. This Master’s thesis second aim is thus to study and to resume criticism emanating from these other theologians. Since this research is developed within Quebec’s context, we have also delved into Quebec’s evangelical theologians take on postmodernism. This constitutes the third element of this Master’s thesis. From this literature we chose to resume one article that stemmed from a conference presented at a 2007 Montreal convention on emergent churches. We also conducted interviews to understand the ecclesial practices related to emergent churches in the Quebec context. The first interview has been conducted with a Quebec evangelical theologian who has adopted postmodernism. The second interview has been conducted with a small group of members of an emergent church. To conclude, we make a final analysis of the literature brought to bear in this Master’s thesis, and we make our own contribution in favor of a postmodern evangelical theology and postmodern ecclesial practices in Quebec’s context.

The role of the doctrine of the Trinity in the theology of Stanley J. Grenz

Sexton, Jason S. January 2012 (has links)
This thesis provides an examination into the primary features in the theology of one of the turn of the century's leading evangelical theologians, Stanley J. Grenz. It begins by establishing the controversial nature of Grenz's project within evangelical theology, and how his aims were misread by a number of evangelical scholars. It then argues that the primary feature in his writings was the doctrine of the Trinity, giving shape to his methodology, theology, and ethical engagement. Accordingly, this thesis identifies the most significant features he adopted and adapted from Wolfhart Pannenberg, whose influence on Grenz is readily seen. These features include not only how Grenz derived particular methodological aspects from Pannenberg (chap. 2), but also those related to the shape of his trinitarian theology itself (chap. 3). Next, while realizing that Grenz's new-found emphasis on a trinitarian project was not placed on a tabula rasa, a wider account of his trinitarian background is considered (chap. 4), as is the particular developmental shape of his doctrine of the Trinity itself (chap. 5). Following this, an examination is made into how Grenz accessed this doctrine of the Trinity, through the imago Dei concept, informed by a theological hermeneutic, theological exegesis, and weaved through the traditional systematic loci (chap. 6). Finally, the shape of his trinitarian ethical work is considered in light of the overall coherence of his body of writings, both in its early form as a Christian ethic as well as in the test-cases that were part of his engagement (chap. 7). This is followed by a summary of the reception of Grenz's project, which is deemed consistent with his aims of being both a distinctly evangelical and trinitarian theologian.

Le pacifisme chrétien et la théologie évangélique

Miller, David 20 April 2018 (has links)
From 1980 until the end of the decades of the 90s, there is a resurgence of theological thinking and writing about the question of how to build a more peaceful world. This work focusing on the renewal of a theology of peace finds significant expression in the United States. Included in this effort to build a theology of peace are perspectives that see in pacifism an approach that is both coherent with respect to the message of the Gospel and relevant as a part of the Church’s contribution to peace in a violent world. Pacifist expressions are found in Catholic, Protestant and Evangelical discourse. This dissertation is an analysis from an evangelical perspective of three of these expressions of pacifism. Using the three components of a methodological model proposed by Canadian evangelical theologian Stanley Grenz, we analyze the relationship between this methodological approach and the three portraits of pacifism that form the corpus of this study. Our analysis will lead us to determine that there is a strong methodological correspondence between the three expressions of pacifist discourse studied and the evangelically-inspired theological model proposed by Grenz.

Revising evangelical theological method in the postmodern context: Stanley J. Grenz and Kevin J. Vanhoozer as test cases

Berry, Chauncey Everett 13 November 2003 (has links)
This dissertation examines the theological diversity that is currently developing within North American evangelicalism due to the growing influence of postmodernism and the resulting postconservative shift in evangelical thought. Chapter 1 begins with an initial assessment of the historical background and intellectual landscape behind the postmodern setting as well as the reasons why many evangelicals, such as Stanley J. Grenz and Kevin J. Vanhoozer, have chosen to adopt postconservative approaches to theological method. Chapter 2 then moves to a critical analysis of these two theologians by first treating the work of Stanley Grenz. This segment evaluates his proposals regarding theological method by outlining the primary ideas and factors that lead to his version of a postmodern evangelical theology. Chapter 3 subsequently offers a survey of the contrasting ideas of Kevin J. Vanhoozer. Here again, the tracing of Vanhoozer's distinct rendition of postconservatism is done by examining the major factors that are prominent within his work. Chapter 4 then provides evaluations of the strengths and weaknesses of Grenz's and Vanhoozer's thought as well as points of comparison and contrast between them. In the end, it is argued that while both thinkers share several mutual criticisms of conservative evangelicalism, Grenz's expression of postconservatism is noticeably different from Vanhoozer's. Specifically, it is shown that Grenz clearly advocates a kind of postmodern postconservatism, which entails modifications in theological method as well certain doctrinal commitments intrinsic to historic evangelicalism. Juxtaposed to Grenz, it also is argued that Vanhoozer provides a more confessional model of postconservatism because his recommendations for a new methodology still remain loyal to certain theological commitments that Grenz would deem as non-essential to the evangelical theology. Chapter 5 finally assesses the potential future effects that certain kinds of postconservative thought could have in evangelical circles. Likewise, several key elements regarding theological method that still require further attention in light of the development of postconservatism are also highlighted and discussed. / This item is only available to students and faculty of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
