Covid-19-pandemins avtryck på fysisk aktivitet och självupplevd hälsa : En kvantitativ studie på en Crossfit-verksamhet / Covid-19 pandemics effect on physical activity and self-experienced health : A quantitative study in a Crossfit business

Holmqvist Göthberg, Josefine January 2021 (has links)
The study examined how members of a Crossfit box consider the Covid-19 pandemic effects on their physical activity level, self-experienced health and motivation. The study has a quantitative research approach and the data was collected from a questionnaire. A total of 106 respondents participated in the questionnaire and they all are members of the Crossfit box. The result indicated that the study group are no less physically active but rather more physically active today than before the pandemic. The result also indicated a generally good self-experienced health but with some tendency of social health worries. The motivation in the study group was relatively high and the majority mean that they have good or very good motivation to be physically active. In the discussion thematic analysis was used and that showed that the respondents are characterized by ambivalence. Many of the respondents considered the Covid-19 pandemic as more lonely and more alarming but at the same time many of the respondents have grown from all setbacks and learned more about themselves. The results can be described as for better or worse. The conclusion of the study shows that people who work or study from home think that the Covid-19 pandemic is more demanding on the social level but also that many of the study group have realized the importance of physical activity and social gatherings as one cannot perform it as under normal circumstances. The study can also emphasize the importance of responsibility on parts of both members and the staff at the Crossfit box to make the situation work as well as normal.
