Supervize jako nástroj rozvoje studentů - budoucích sociálních pracovníků / Supervision as a tool for development of students - future social workers

ŠABARTOVÁ, Alžběta January 2016 (has links)
The main instrument of improving the social work education in the Czech Republic is the guideline The Minimum Standards of Education in Social Work issued by the Association of Educators in Social Work. According to this Standard, a student of social work, as a future social worker, shall have not only theoretical, but also practical knowledge which include professional practical training and supervision. It is also essential to become aware of the fact that a student, as a future social worker, will bear the responsibility when helping people in difficulties. Therefore, the school should ensure that any information a student receives during his/her study, is supplied to him/her in a seizable form. That is why it is important that the school provides its students with a supervision which is to improve the quality of their professional preparation, offer them insight in social worker profession and help them solve not only any divergences a student can see between theory and practice. The aim of the Dissertation is to seek higher-education supervisors´ and students´ views of the supervision implemented as a part of future social workers´ studies. Two research questions have been raised within the Dissertation. How do the students future social workers perceive the supervision which is implemented as a part of studies? What do supervisors consider as the purpose of supervision (which is realised as a part of studies) for students future social workers? The necessary information for the elaboration of the Dissertation were acquired through qualitative research. Interviewing and a semi-structured dialogue technique were chosen as the most suitable data collection method. Two research groups were chosen for the needs of the Dissertation. The first group consists of highest-class students in the field of social work at the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences and Faculty of Theology at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. The other research group consists of supervisors operating at the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences and Faculty of Theology at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. The research showed that students perceive supervision as useful and purposeful. Students appreciate the possibility of exchanging their experience. Differences appeared regarding the duration of the supervision session. Students mostly do not know what to talk about during supervision. Greater part of the students has not a problem to confide to a supervisor, but shortcomings were also found in this respect. Regarding the supervisors of professional practical training, in their opinion, the purpose of supervision is especially to educate students, improve students' knowledge, interconnect the theory and the practice, support students in the course of their professional practical training and give students the opportunity to reflect their own practical experience. There was also raised an idea to establish supervision directly in workplaces, where students exercise their professional practical training. The Dissertation may serve as a feedback for supervisors and as an educational material for students. It can also be used to obtain a more comprehensive picture of functioning of school supervisions of professional practical training that takes place in universities.

Supervize v sociální práci / Supervision in the Social Work

Nagyová, Nicole January 2018 (has links)
v anglickém jazyce Supervision is one of the possibilities of professional support, which helps in solving difficult working situations. They imply challenges, personal constraints and ethical issues. Uncertainties can be on the both sides of the social worker and his client. Supervision should not be a check of incorrect decisions or supervision of the choice of work outcomes. On the contrary, the supervisor should be supportive of his clients and provide them professional and correct leadership to ensure the quality of their work. The diploma thesis deals with the interconnection of supervision with burnout syndrome. The theoretical part draws attention to the preventive nature of the supervision process and the risks that are threatened in the absence of supervision. Both concepts, supervision and burnout syndrome, are described and explained in the diploma thesis. The theoretical part of the thesis contains basic terminology, division and important participants in such cooperation. The second section describes the situation regarding the use of supervision and the rate of burnout syndrome in selected social workers. The results of this survey are shown in the charts. The thesis is concluded with a discussion which contains comments on the legal anchoring of supervision in the Czech Republic and...

Postoje studentů denní formy studia Zdravotně sociální fakulty Jihočeské univerzity k vlastní uplatnitelnosti na trhu práce / Attitudes of Students selected fields Faculty of Health and Social Studies University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice for their own employability in the Labor Market

KOIŠOVÁ, Lenka January 2017 (has links)
In my thesis, I am finding out about the attitudes of students of the health and social faculty towards their own future occupation prospects. Although the unemployment situation in the Czech Republic as well as the situation in the South Region is favorable, graduates and young people are among the most vulnerable groups in the labor market. The first chapter describes the theoretical background of this issue. This part defines the overall unemployment problems of the Czech Republic, unemployment in the South Region. It describes the labor market and students situation is described based on the educational attainment and then their situation in the Czech Republic is compared to the similar situation abroad. Then it also describes the faculty and defines the issues of helping professions covered by the fields of the faculty. The aim of my thesis was to find out what the students of the faculty imagine when asked of their future occupation. They would like to stay in the field which they graduated from and then why they would want to stay in it or why not. The results show that students of the faculty want to stay in the field they graduated from on the labor market in the future. The research was conducted via questionnaire. In the practical part of the thesis I compared the attitudes of students of health and social fields. I also compared the attitudes of students who are studying in bachelor's program and students who continue their studies in the follow-up study. When it comes to comparison between the social and health studies, it is possible to see the differences in the attitudes of students, as well as the comparison of bachelor and master programs. Thesis may be beneficial for the employment deparment of Czech Republic and for the health and social faculty. Furthermore it may also be beneficial for representatives of state administration who monitor and control the whole system of tertiary education.

Fluktuace všeobecných sester do jiných profesí na trhu práce / The nurses´ turnover into other professions on the labour market

SOVOVÁ, Zuzana January 2009 (has links)
The profession of general nurse is very demanding. The International Labour Organisation and World Health Organisation believe it to be one of the riskiest jobs. Having completed difficult studies nurses often leave their jobs for other positions due to insufficient financial reward which is inadequate to the physical and mental load. The issue of lack of nurses emerged in the Czech Republic as early as before 2004. This situation worsened after the country{\crq}s association with the European Union because nurses began to use the free movement of persons on the labour market. They find work in more attractive industries which are not so demanding in personal and working life. Workers cannot keep up with a pace of work for a long time, unless their mental and physical health is properly looked after. Overloading often results in dissatisfaction and fluctuations. This diploma thesis maps the level of general nurses' departures to other professions on the labour market, which are listed in particular. The survey carried out is quantitative. It employs the method of enquiring persons by means of anonymous questionnaires. The results entail that the level of fluctuations shows a rising tendency. This is caused mainly by low financial remuneration and the impact upon the family and personal life. Possible solutions may include higher salary, higher social respect, saturation of the lack of personnel, application of fundraising, supervisions or employee benefits. It is essential to emphasise the prevention during professional studies. I have chosen the topic of general nurses{\crq} fluctuations mainly because it is a highly charged issue and because I felt that it was necessary to point out a problem that I experienced myself. As modern nursing care is developing, the demands for medical staff are increasing; unfortunately this is not in proportion to the amount of prevention devoted to the issue of workload. I attempted to outline the causes of nurses{\crq} fluctuations and mention also possible ways of preventing the outflow of nurses from this strenuous, yet beautiful and socially irreplaceable job.

Psychosociální zátěž při práci sester a sociálních pracovníků / Psychosocial load at work of nurses and social workers

KUŘÁTKOVÁ, Lucie January 2010 (has links)
The Thesis deals with the questions of psychosocial load at work for nurses and social workers. The Thesis is divided into two sections. The theoretical part deals with definitions of terms like caring professions, load and stress, then load at work and psychosocial load. There is also a brief characteristic of the professions of a nurse and a social worker. The aim of the empiric part was to find out on a selected sample of respondents (i.e. nurses and social workers) how the respondents perceive the character of their psychosocial load at work and whether they are at risk of burnout syndrome, to find out whether nurses or social workers perceive the psychosocial load more intensely and whether there is a difference in the risk of burnout syndrome between them. A quantitative questioning method and questionnaire technique were applied on data collection and processing in the research part of the Thesis. An anonymous questionnaire was used for the investigation. The questionnaire preparation was based on a questionnaire provided by my thesis guide. The original questionnaire was more extensive and was only designed for nurses, which was why I had to select suitable items and add some special items applicable on nurses as well as social workers. The questionnaire consisted mainly of closed questions where the respondents chose from five answers the one best corresponding with their own opinion. I set 3 hypotheses before starting the research itself. The questionnaire answers were processed both, manually by means of the stroke method and by a statistic programme SPSS. Segment and bar graphs in Microsoft Office Excel were used for graphical interpretation of the results. After evaluation of the questionnaire research results I found out that the previously set hypothesis H1 suggesting that nurses and social workers perceive various elements of their psychosocial load differently, was confirmed, hypothesis H2 suggesting that nurses are more loaded by the work with patients/clients than social workers was not confirmed, and hypothesis H3 suggesting that nurses are at higher risk of burnout syndrome than social workers was confirmed. The results of my thesis may serve to inform general public as well as professionals on the problems in question. They may also serve as a possible incentive for managerial staff to pay higher attention to the problems of psychosocial load at work among caring professions at individual medical care facilities. The results may also serve as a base for further studies and research in the field.

ŠUHÁJKOVÁ, Pavla January 2010 (has links)
Mental hygiene is the discipline that deals with developing and maintaining mental healt and preventing mental disorders and illnesses. It is a system of scientifically elaborated measures and instructions that help maintain, improve and restore mental health. Assistant branches and sciences are generally and undoubtedlly regarded as very demanding. The staff must meet high demands and be ready at all times to help others sort out their problems and difficult life situation. To keep their mental balance, these staff members should follow the principles of mental hygiene. The target of the diploma thesis at hand is to find out how an assistant employee subjectively assesses his or her workload and if they know how to tackle it. The thesis also aims at exploring particular measures of mental hygiene through which the staff cope with the workload arising from thein work. Before the survey was carried out, three hypotheses were formulated: H1: The employees in assistant positions in facilities providing social services in Pelhřimov region are aware of the degree of their workload, H2: The employees in assistant positions are informed about how to deal with workload, H3: The employees in assistant positions eliminate the workload through active and passive elements of mental hygiene. To complete the research part of the thesis, the quantitative survey employed questioning as the method of data collection using questionnaires as the technique. The survey was carried out in all 16 facilities providing social services in Pehřimov region. The research sample consisted of 224 employees in assistant positions in the said facilities. The research confirmed all formulated hypotheses. The research result can be made available to managements of facilities providing social services in order to serve as a stimulus for finding a more active approach to solving the issue at hand. Furthermore, the thesis might serve as a source of important data related to mental hygiene that may be distributed to all staff in assistant positions as well as to those who are interested in this topic.

FOUSKOVÁ, Eliška January 2011 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to examine how ethical dilemmas can be assessed and addressed by the various ethical theories. These are dilemmas experienced by the help workers who encounter within their profession with a group of mistreated and abused children. First part of the thesis provides the description of the specific concepts related to work. The following section is devoted to factors that may influence the emergence of a dilemma and which are reflected within the solutions of the dilemmas. The main part of the thesis deals with the ethical analysis of specific dilemmas identified. Individual dilemmas are analyzed using the literature and ethical approaches. To each dilemma a reflection of its solutions is attached according to ethical theories and ethical codes of the workers from which possible insufficiencies arise. The thesis is concluded by the chapter on the proposed solutions of this situation and the practical benefits of the work.

Parents' constructions of the role of the helping professional in learning support

Zimmerman, Lisa 25 June 2007 (has links)
Within the helping professions there are contrasting epistemological views regarding the role of the helping professional, which have direct influences on learning support practices. Despite these views, it remains unclear what parents expect when seeking learning support for their children. This qualitative study explored parents’ constructions of the role of the helping professional in learning support. It specifically addressed parents’ expectations of the helping professional, what they value in their interactions with helping professionals as well as their understandings of their own roles in consultation and intervention for learning support. A case study approach was employed to gain access to participants. Specifically, three parents of children attending a school for Learners with Special Educational Needs [LSEN] were included as participants. These parents had had experiences with various helping professionals, both at the school and in private practice settings, in the course of seeking assistance for their children. It was thus thought that they would be able to provide in-depth perspectives as to their ideas of the role of helping professionals who assist children experiencing difficulties due to their exposure and experiences with helping professionals. Initial data collection was undertaken via semi-structured interviews with the participants. A content analysis of the interviews was subsequently employed to elicit affinities for use during a further modified form of Interactive Qualitative Analysis [IQA] with the contributors to the study. In total, fourteen affinities were generated and included Parental expectations, Professional characteristics, The helping process, Parents’ role, Status of the helping professional, Professional approach, Parents’ personal experiences, Parents’ emotions, Assessment, Recommendations, Stigma, a Team approach, parent-professional Interaction and Values. These affinity descriptions were corroborated and expanded on with the participants and the relationships amongst the affinities where then hypothesised by the participants themselves. A central outcome of the study was the research participants’ social representations of helping professionals. These representations comprise the thematic elements representing the participants’ discourse about the role of helping professionals in learning support and provide the participants’ in-depth ideas of the relationships amongst these elements. / Dissertation (MEd (Educational Psychology))--University of Pretoria, 2007. / Educational Psychology / unrestricted
