Interakce jednoduchých molekul s redukovatelnými oxidy: modelové studie H2O/CeOx and CO/CuOx / Interaction of simple molecules with reducible oxides: model studies of H2O/CeOx and CO/CuOx

Dvořák, Filip January 2014 (has links)
The thesis is focused on the investigation of fundamental catalytic properties of two model catalysts-CeOx/Cu(111) and CuOx/Cu(111)-by means of advanced surface science techniques. The investigations performed on CeOx are devoted to the study of the relationship between the surface structure and the surface activity of ceria. We develop the preparation method leading to growth of epitaxial CeOx(111) thin films with the adjustable morphological parameters-the step density and the ordering of surface oxygen vacancies. By using the CeOx(111) films with precisely controlled structure we identify the role of the step edges and of the oxygen vacancies in the interaction of water with ceria. The investigation performed on CuOx is focused on the microscopic characterization of the reduction process of Cu2O(111) on the molecular level directly under a near ambient pressure of CO. In direct microscopic study we identify the active initiation centers, the intermediate oxide phases, and the kinetics of the reduction reaction of Cu2O(111).

Elektronické a strukturní vlastnosti modelových katalyzátorů na bázi oxidu ceru / Electronic and structural properties of model catalysts based on cerium oxide

Duchoň, Tomáš January 2017 (has links)
Catalysts based on cerium oxide are ubiquitous in industrial-scale chemical conversion. Here, a thorough study of their fundamental properties is undertaken via a model system ap- proach with the goal of furthering rational design in heterogeneous catalysis. A focus is put on understanding the behavior of oxygen vacancies in cerium oxide with respect to atomic co-ordination and electronic structure perturbations. Utilizing state-of-the-art probing tech- niques, a scalable model system framework is developed that allows for control over both the oxygen vacancy concentration and local co-ordination. High precision of the innova- tive approach facilitated observation of new phases of substoichiometric cerium oxide and lead to a first-of-a-kind investigation of the electronic structure of cerium oxide throughout isostructural transition from CeO2 to Ce2O3. The acquired results advance fundamental understanding of essential properties of cerium oxide that are relevant to its utilization in heterogeneous catalysis and open new pathways for functionalization of cerium oxide-based materials. Furthermore, the methodology developed in the thesis is transferable to other important reducible oxides. 1

Rozvrhování v distribuovaných systémech / Rozvrhování v distribuovaných systémech

Vyšohlíd, Jan January 2011 (has links)
The present work studies methods of scheduling in heterogeneous distributed systems. First there are introduced some theoretical basics which contain not only the scheduling theory itself but also the graph theory and the computational complexity theory. After that, compile-time scheduling methods and some well-known algorithms solving the problem are presented, followed by real-time scheduling basics and by classification of used methods. In the main part of the work there are proposed algorithms which respect additional restrictions. These algorithms are tested via the enclosed application and compared either to each other or to another algorithms which mostly don't respect additional restrictions. The mentioned application and the documentation for this application are a part of this work as well.

Promítání měnového kurzu ve střední a východní Evropě / The Exchange Rate Pass-Through in Central and Eastern Europe

Mirková, Barbora January 2014 (has links)
This thesis examines the exchange rate pass-through into consumer prices in Central and Eastern Europe. The study is based on quarterly data of 12 countries from 2003 to 2013. Estimations are conducted using heterogeneous panel cointegration methods, namely the mean group and the pooled mean group estimators. Fixed effects are used as a reference. The thesis provides short- run and long-run estimates of the exchange rate pass-through for the individual countries and for the region as a whole. Based on the results, we conclude that the exchange rate pass-through is highly variable across Central and Eastern Europe. We find that there is no clear distinction between the pass-through rates in euro area countries, EU countries not using the euro and non- EU countries. Further, we find that the generally accepted concept of higher exchange rate pass- though in developing countries does not hold in this region. Haufová, Jitka January 2011 (has links)
Klíčová slova: komunikace, předškolní věk, druhy komunikace, pozorování, heterogenní skupina, jednotlivci Title: Communication of pre-school children Annotation: In my graduation theses I am focusing on the communication of pre-school children. The objective of my research is to identify the way of communication of pre-school children in heterogeneous group, the circumstances affecting communication between children and also the differences in communication between a child and its parent, a child and its peer and child with a teacher. Moreover, my focus is also on mapping the frequency of vulgarisms and neologisms in their communication and the situations...

Numerické modelování soutěží o dvě ceny s asymetrickými hráči / Numerical Modelling of Two-Prize Asymmetric Contests

Matysková, Ludmila January 2013 (has links)
This thesis presents an analysis on a class of asymmetric imperfectly discrim- inating multi-prize contests with the aim to investigate when more than one prize becomes optimal prize allocation if the average effort is to be maximized. We present n-person model with heterogeneous contestants who compete for two, possibly different, prizes. The contestants may differ in their relative abil- ities, i.e., parameters affecting their probabilities to win either of the prizes. Two different numerical methods for finding pure strategy Nash equilibria are employed. Depending on particular distributions of the abilities, we find two possible scenarios when the second prize becomes optimal. Furthermore, we ad- dress an issue of existence and uniqueness of a pure strategy Nash equilibrium with respect to the returns to scale in effort parameter. Chemická reaktivita tenkých vrstev oxidů ceru na kovových podložkách studovaná metodou teorie funkcionálu hustoty / Chemical reactivity of metal-supported ceria thin films: a density functional study

Szabová, Lucie January 2013 (has links)
Title: Chemical reactivity of metal-supported ceria thin films: a density func- tional study Author: Lucie Szabová Department: Department of Surface and Plasma Science Supervisor: Prof. RNDr. Vladimír Matolín, DrSc., Department of Surface and Plasma Science, FMF, CU Abstract: The present work is a theoretical analysis based on numerical DFT+U simulations investigating the physical and chemical properties of ultrathin ceria films supported by Cu(111). Such materials exhibit high activity towards several important reactions in heterogeneous catalysis such as water-gas shift and CO oxidation, with important applications also for renewable energy technologies such as fuel cells. We provide evidence of the influence of film thickness on the electronic and structural properties as well as on the reactivity of ultrathin ceria films supported by copper. The calculations combined with scanning tunneling microscopy experiments show that one monolayer thin film of ceria on Cu(111) is charged, strained and contains oxygen vacancies due to the limited thickness of the film. The influence of the film thickness on the reactivity of thin ceria films was explored for the case of water adsorption and dissociation. Significant differences were shown for water adsorption and dissociation on one-monolayer ceria compared to thicker films,...

Analýza behaviorálního nového keynesiánského modelu / Analysis of a Behavioral New Keynesian Model

Křížková, Šárka January 2018 (has links)
The thesis focuses on the analysis of a Behavioral New Keynesian DSGE model. In particular, various specifications of the model are collected from the existing literature and their combinations are simulated. The specifications include heuristics for forecasting output gap, sets of estimated or calibrated parameters and model structures. The resulting simulated output and inflation gap series are compared with the macroeconomic stylized facts and real world data from the US and Euro area based on their distributional characteristics and autocorrelation structures. In addition, a comparison of various simulated model specifications is performed based on the level of correlation between fractions of agents following a specific heuristic and the resulting output and inflation gap values. The distributional characteristics of the US output gap seem to be matched the best by the specifications with unbiased and extrapolative output gap heuristics generating series with higher levels of variance and kurtosis. Contrarily, the Euro output gap is best matched by specifications with optimistic, pessimistic and unbi- ased heuristics producing series with lower levels of variance and kurtosis. Second, the autocorrelation structure of the simulated series tends to mirror the stylized facts as opposed to the...
