The Irish Hills Natural Reserve Conservation Plan is a unique component of the Cityof San Luis Obispo’s green belt that provides a number of hiking and mountain bikingtrails within a short distance from the downtown core as well as ensures that valuablehabitat be preserved into the future. As the subject of my thesis project, IHNR presented the opportunity to pursue an aspect of city planning that can often be over-looked and, conservation planning. Conservation planning is an important element of the planning profession in that it incorporates such elements into the future growth of cities. With proper planning it is possible to foresee future development patterns and thus be able to designate and protect high value natural resource areas as open space, in order to preserve and protect their resources. In addition to setting the guidelines for preserving and protecting the natural resources and important habitats of Irish Hills, the conservation plan has a secondary effect of ensuring the future health of the surrounding habitats.

Ants are ecologically important, environmentally sensitive, widespread, and abundant, yet ant assemblages of many habitats remain poorly understood. Ants in inland barrens of New York State (NY) barely have been studied, but the limited data suggest such habitats are likely to support uncommon ant species and high species density for the region. To increase knowledge of these assemblages, I systematically collected ants from three inland barrens systems in NY, to create species lists and measure species density. I also investigated how hiking trails — a common man-made disturbance — may be impacting ant assemblages in these early-successional, disturbance-dependent ecosystems. My data strongly indicate uncommonly high densities of ant species in NY pine barrens, including the most northern known occurrences of some species, and show that ant assemblage composition and species density are altered on hiking trails relative to managed barrens habitat bordering the trails. I conclude that monitoring ants on hiking trails could provide valuable information, particularly on disturbance-tolerant species, and an opportunity for visitor participation and citizen science programs that could detect additional rare species.

The diploma paper, Evaluation of aplicability of Leading Quality Trails - Best of Europe criteria on a long-distance hiking trail in the Czech Republic, deals with the process of certification of long-distance hiking trails in accordance with the norm called Leading Quality Trails - Best of Europe. The norm is based on German norms for certificating long-distance hiking trails which brought remarkable success. So far, there are no such trails in the Czech Republic. The main purpose of this thesis is to provide answers to questions concerning the aplicability of European norms on Czech hiking trails. Specifically, it will focus on the aplication of the norms on the long-distance hiking trail Stezka podel Luznice and its evaluation.

The objective of this diploma thesis is search processing of tourism, his problematics and protection of the nature. In the other part this thesis deal with analysis of hiking trail in Labske piskovce PLA in focus of potentional atractive with proposal of new hiking trails in this location. Analysis containe all hiking trails in this location according to colored tourism distinction of trails. Proposal of new hiking trails was formed with regard on protection of nature thus at the same time was surrounding area approached for visitors as much as possible. Proposal comprise new and turisty often attended attractiviness. This proposal can produce increase of attractiviness in this district and the influx of new turists.

The theme of Master thesis is a Gallery of aviation technology and traditions of aviation at the airport Gallery aviation technology and traditions of aviation at the airport Medlánky in Brno. The project insludes overall operation of the sports airport, then deal in detail operations of the museum and related services within the airport. The new campus will humbly entered in the countryside, in an attractive location Medláneckých hills creates another attractive feature and despite the complex operation and movement techniques does not create a barrier to the contrary territory it unites and is a natural center. Airports Medlanky was founded already in the twenties of the last century, and since then the area is relatively non-conceptually grew by more hangars and various outbuildings. Of these, only two were preserved original wooden sheds, which adds yet another new administrative and ceremonial buildings. Operational buildings set limits on technology, the new representative building it closes, and defining a space for people, nature trail connects the area, offers wonderful views and creates a public space that makes passers airport. The whole area is oriented to the back area and opens onto the landscape, wide area thus presents an iconic silhouette reperzentační building. The curve of the building provides space aircraft-makers to fly and allows collision-free movement of people and equipment around the airport and also generates a dignified space for aircraft to fly longer will. Exposure air museum at the second floor of the building and the visitor thus rises to individual gliders that levitate in space, the sun's rays make their reflections on the polished bonnets and backgrounds are vivid airports and skies. The urban problem of the present area is the poor technical condition of the buildings, the inadequate function of the buildings. The aim of the proposal is to create a significant area of both professional and recreational sport. The main part of the work is devoted to the design of a new cycling stadium owned by TJ Favorit Brno. The hall should have sufficient capacity and facilities to hold international sporting events in cycling and athletics. At the same time it should be useful for smaller races and other events. Another requirement is that the stadium can provide enough facilities for the TJ Favorit Brno cycling club. The home base is currently a cycling stadium at the Brno Exhibition Grounds. This stadium is currently inadequate, serving only as a training course. It does not meet the conditions of the International Federation of UCI. The design of the variable space of the hall deserves a further attention at least, beacuse it will serve athletics or other sporting events. The cycling stadium is located in the northern part of the grounds. It places emphasis on the scattered surfaces in the immediate vicinity of the stadium, easy orientation and layout of entries from all sides of the object, separation of athletes from spectators. The main expression element of the exterior is a glazed facade wall, with a perforated sheet metal. Providing night lighting and putting visitors into action. The attractiveness of the whole area is enhanced by the newly designed park. A café and relaxation areas are also proposed. The total area will be separated from traffic. Two parking spaces with sufficient capacity for the whole area will be created at its edge. Transport within the premises will only be accessible for service and operation.
