Komparace tradičního transportu materiálu v horském hospodářství Krkonoš a Šumavy / The Comparison of the Traditional Material Transport in the Mountain Economy of the Krkonoše and Šumava Mountains

Smrčka, Aleš January 2015 (has links)
This thesis The Comparison of the Traditional Material Transport in the Mountain Economy of the Krkonoše and Šumava Mountains introduces the traditional forms of material and goods transport in the Krkonoše Mountains (the Giant Mountains) and the Šumava Mountains (the Bohemian Forest). The way of life in the highland area of Giant Mountains was significantly affected by the Alpine colonization in the second half of the 16th century. The Alpine colonists brought knowledge of logging, mountain economy and transport equipment into the mountains. Inhabitants of the Giant Mountains used water power, skids, later sledge called "rohacky" for bundles of wood. They also used backpacks, textile "loktuse", baskets, wheeled means of transportation and animal skid for the transport of other goods and materials. The comparison shows that the Bohemian Forest unlike the Giant Mountains was populated by gradual colonization of woodmen from the surrounding regions. Various forms of traditional vehicles were applied in this area. Unlike the Giant Mountains there was increasingly developed timber transport on the canals and rivers. The thesis maps the traditional modes of material transport in both regions, highlightes their differences and records their transformation in the present. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Retrográdní studie efektu terapie rázovou vlnou u funkčních poruch muskuloskeletálního systému / Retrograde study of the effect of the shock ware therapy for the functional disorders of the musculosceletal system

Horáková, Kateřina January 2013 (has links)
This thesis assesses the effectiveness of shock wave therapy for dysfunctional disorders of the musculoskeletal system. While we are well aware of the physical principles and history of shock wave generators, opinion differs on the treatment effectiveness mechanisms. The theoretical part of this work explains the effects of shock waves on various types of tissue, the differentiation of the cells, and the analgetic effect of therapy. It summarizes the indications, side effects and contraindications of shock wave therapy. The research part of this thesis deals with the effectiveness of shock wave therapy at the Department of Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine at the Motol University Hospital, which specialises in various musculoskeletal disorders. This thesis evaluates the correlation between the effectiveness of shock wave therapy and length of time the patient has experienced difficulties before undergoing treatment. This thesis also reviews whether the number of treatment applications has the capability to influence the outcome of therapy. The study is controlled by a control group of 22 patients. The total effectiveness of shock wave therapy is p = 1,12*10-10 . The shock wave therapy effectiveness of patients with heel spur is p = 0,00176. The shock wave therapy effectiveness of patients with...

Odborný překlad a organizovaná činnost překladatelů ve 2. polovině 20. století / Technical Translation and Organized Translating Activities in the Second Half of the 20th Century

Chmelařová, Eliška January 2014 (has links)
This thesis discusses the topic of the organized translation activities in the second half of the 20th century. It focuses especially on translators of technical texts. The purpose of the thesis is to provide the basic overview of organizations and institutions which operated in Czechoslovakia, and to which the translation activities were concentrated. There is no similar systematic overview in the home professional literature yet. The research method of the oral history was realized via interviews with witnesses. Case studies, dealing in detail with one or another of the examined organizations or institutions, like International Federation of Translators, Translation Department of the Czechoslovakian Writer's Union, translation department in Škoda Auto a.s., International Organisation of Journalists, Prague City Tourism and World Federation of Trade Unions, resulted from the interviews. The information from the interviews was compared and general conclusions about the translating work in the second half of the 20th century were stated. 'Gender na pozadí historie, historie ve světle genderu: fikce Jeanette Winterson a Ali Smith' / Questioning Gender Through the Test of History: the Fiction of Jeanette Winterson and Ali Smith

Burianová, Petra January 2016 (has links)
This thesis focuses on the work of two contemporary authors, Ali Smith and Jeanette Winterson, and their treatment of the concepts of history and gender in their fiction. I argue that, by openly speculating about the nature of time and history, and by making their readers think about the origin of these notions, Smith and Winterson uncover the seemingly stable but, in actuality, very fragile roots of the 'truths' we take for granted. They explore the potentiality of the past, which, in turn opens up the present and the future. To support my argument, I turned to Hayden White and his theory of historiography and Paul Ricoeur's philosophy of time and history. The latter part of the thesis deals with gender, as well as biological sex and sexual orientation, and the way in which Smith and Winterson's texts put into practice Judith Butler's theory of gender performativity, and work towards the subversion of gender norms as well as the destabilisation of heteronormativity. Both parts of the thesis are closely connected; history serves to keep the laws that define gender, sex and sexuality intact, and, in turn, these laws are often adhered to solely by the virtue of their historicity. What is more, myth and language are equally exposed to be supporting these norms. The aim of this thesis is to...

Vztah mezi počtem druhů, teplotou, a úživností prostředí pro původní a nepůvodní druhy rostlin / Relationship between species diversity, temperature and productivity for native and non-native plant species

Szostoková, Kateřina January 2016 (has links)
Latitudinal gradient of diversity is typically being explained by the three main hypotheses: The Resources Limitation Hypothesis, The Speciation Rate Hypothesis and The Niche Conservatism Hypothesis. In my study I tested basic assumptions of these hypotheses using native and non-native vascular plants obtained from the new database GloNAF (Global Naturalized Alien Flora). I tested an effect of precipitation, NPP, temperature and historical velocity (difference in temperature and precipitation between the Last Glacial Maximum and present) on species richness. Given that the distribution of non-native species is among continents irregular (we can divide them into two groups - Australia with Europe and North America and South America with Africa and Asia), I tested the abovementioned relationships at both - global and continental scale. Species richness of native species increased with NPP, precipitation and temperature and decreased with the difference in temperature. The global distribution of non-native plants increased with precipitation and temperature velocity and decreases with temperature and precipitation velocity, although the results varied for particular continents. Unlike other studies the number of non-native species didn't correlate with the number of native plant species. Concurrently...

Historie vegetace Chebské pánve ze sedimentárního záznamu lokality SOOS / History of vegetational development in the Cheb basin from sedimentary record of the SOOS National Nature Reserve

Suda, Tomáš January 2012 (has links)
Vegetation development in the Cheb basin ( W Czech Republic) recorded in the sediments of the SOOS ational ature Reserve This thesis focuses on palaeoecological research of quaternary sediments in the Soos National Nature Reserve (Cheb basin, NW Czech Republic). Quaternary history of this locality is poorly known, despite it is a valuable and protected area with high natural qualities. The Soos basin is also known for its unique geological record, which is expected to cover information on landscape dynamics at least during the Holocene. A lake existed in the Soos basin enabling accumulation of diatomite and peat sediments of a broad palaeoecological potential. Records were analysed with method of pollen analysis and were dated using 14C. The results of this study bring information about vegetation development in the area of Cheb basin as well as development of lake ecosystem. It also gives a new insight on lake's origin and its age. The accumulation of peat sediments started in the Preboreal period and was continuous at least until the Atlantic following with a hiatus, therefore further detection of vegetation development is impossible. The beginning of diatomite accumulation, as well as the existence of the lake goes back to the Bølling interstadial, according to radiocarbon dating. However, this...

Česká hudební publicistika zaměřená na rockovou hudbu v období normalizace / Czech music journalism focused on rock music during the period of normalization

Husák, Martin January 2012 (has links)
The thesis "Czech music journalism focused on rock music during the period of normalization" reflects the position and importance of Czech rock music journalism within the structure and development of normalization of the media system. It is brought back through the oral historical research based on authentic evidence of their protagonists. It defines the initial prerequisites (ideological, political and socio-cultural) which are important to understand the circumstances under which rock music could be created and developed into an institution. It all depended on the confrontational attitude of communist power towards rock music generally. The next methodic element how to fulfill the defined goals is descriptive and comparative perspective. On this basis there is confronted official and samizdat's area of magazine production on the example of chosen periodicals. There also belong other qualitative aspects of music journalism (personalization, professionalization and every day editorial job). At the end the accepted conclusions are supported by the analysis and interpretation of chosen cultural and music events. They are divided by the method of their media coverage from official and samizdat periodicals.
