Role a postavení ROH v ekonomice ČSSR v 80. letech 20. století / The Role and Position of the Revolutionary Union Organisation in the Economy of Czechoslovakia in the 1980sWolf, Vojtěch January 2014 (has links)
The paper's objective is to analyze the work of the Revolutionary Union Organization (ROH) in the Czechoslovak economy of the 1980s. The basic thesis of the paper is the assumption that ROH bodies preferred the interests of the representatives of the Czechoslovak Communist Party to those of workers. The relationship is analyzed on the basis of the employment legislation of the time and the impact of the union organization in its drafting. The paper also examines the contribution of the union organization in the course of the revolutionary changes in Czechoslovak society in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The analysis is based on a critique of sources from that era and a comparison of the role of the ROH in the 1980s and the role of the unions during Prague Spring. On the basis of the objectives set for this paper, the conclusion is that the ROH did have an impact on the work lives of working people, but its leadership lacked funds and, above all, the willingness to effectively protect the interests of working people. Hence, until December 1989, the ROH remained an organization serving, above all, the interests of the Communist Party.

Prohibice v ruských zemích a Spojených státech amerických / PROHIBITION IN RUSSIAN COUNTRIES AND THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICAMikláš, Martin January 2013 (has links)
In this thesis deals with the issue of prohibition of alcohol. At the beginning of the work are discussed theoretical approaches to the prohibition of alcohol across the major authors of the economic community . Then I deal with the prohibitive measures in several countries. In these two examples, a detailed study of the causes , course and consequences of prohibitive measures are implemented . For example serves two major experiments in this area , is the first of Prohibition in the United States of America (USA) , second prohibition is almost unknown in Tsarist Russia, respectively . in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics ( USSR). At work I have carried out a detailed study of the causes of prohibition in relation to the U.S. when I consider the prohibition of the years 1920-1933 for determining the direction of the legislative creation of Americans that influences the legislative power to this day. In the case of Prohibition in Russian countries I concentrated course , because unlike Prohibition in the U.S. was an administrative directive measures. In my work, I have proved that prohibitive measures nationwide scope of the pre- reliant to fail if they are not accepted by the general public . Under other circumstances, lead to circumvention of the law and the growth of crime. I am also on the basis of the findings refute the commonly accepted view that the prohibition in the USA in the years 1920-1933 was an absolute failure. The failure was undoubtedly related to the political point of view , however, if one takes into account the health impact on society, according to statistics reported for 1933. Prohibition changed the culture of the society as alcohol consumption , when the company moved from the bars and streets of privacy. Repeal of Prohibition was a logical step in the new circumstances on the 1930s

Zelená perspektiva. Variace zeleného politického myšlení v Česku / Green Perspective. Variations of Green Political Thinking in the Czech RepublicKřížkovský, Matyáš January 2016 (has links)
The presented work is devoted to the development of Czech environmental movement in 1990's which is accompanied by academic debate about de-radicalisation. The aim of the thesis is to explore what sort of particular changes in the field of political ideas could be identified behind notional de-radicalisation. For this purpose is first laid out the historical context within which the movements were created onto their political ideals. It is followed by an introduction of the theoretical approaches to analyse these ideologies, outlining the basic methodological assumptions for a morphological analysis of the journals of Hnuti Duha. This analysis shows that between the periods 1991-1994 and 1998-2000 can be seen significant ideological transformations that are linked both with the inclination to certain elements of conservative thought and partly an inclination to a non-political politics. Key words green political thinking, ideology, morphological analysis, environmental movement

Slavnosti vzdoru? Majáles v 50. a 60. letech 20. století v ČSSR. / Festival of Defiance? "Majáles" in 50s and 60s of 20th century in Czechoslovakia.Šťástka, Jan January 2016 (has links)
In this thesis based on research of historical sources I try to reconstruct the Prague festival of majales in 50s and 60s of 20th century and understand if they were truly meant as an act of defiance against the communist "régime" as some historians say. My point of view is base around the theory of Michail Bachtin and carnival as form of culturally creative force which act as form of social order negotiation. Worlds of play and laughter exist as a parallel to the official mundane world with their own different rules and they can be used as a form of social negotiation even in totalitarian or strongly conservative "régimes". Majales is a form of carnival that grants the transition into the world of play. Students in Czechoslovakia could use this possibility to negotiate about many otherwise taboo topics. Even if the worlds of play and mundane seem to be separated they influence each other in many ways and even the rules of mundane world can be changed through play and carnival. Students are also protected by their liminal status between being a child and an adult. Which grants them more rights than children but less duties than adults.

LGBT hnutí v ČR očima aktivistů / LGBT Movement in the Czech Republic from an Activist Point of ViewFiala, Jan January 2018 (has links)
The thesis deals with issues of LGBT movement in the Czech Republic in the context of the ongoing campaign "We are fair" for equal marriage. The intention was to try to find out on the basis of in-depth semi-structured interviews with LGBT activists how these activists perceive the status of sexual minorities in the Czech Republic and the related situation of the Czech LGBT movement with regard to its emancipatory potential. It turned out that the activists sensitively perceived the limits of the conditionality of the tolerance of Czech society and that they were aware of the changes in the social and political context in relation to minorities. However, particular minorities are not perceived in the same way by the society, and according to activists, LGBT rights can even be a tool for legitimizing aversion to other minorities, especially religious or ethnic minorities. On the level of reflection on the ongoiong campaign's strategies, activists put the emphasis on political lobbying for equal marriage, with the support of community mobilization and the formation of collective identity defined by the requirement of equal marriage. From the perspective of activists, it is therefore important to balance the professionalized lobbying with grassroots activism. Although, according to activists, the...

Hnutí ANO 2011 v radničních koalicích: případová studie velkých měst / Movement ANO 2011 in Local Coalitions: Case Study of Large CitiesHlušička, Filip January 2019 (has links)
This diploma thesis presents Hnutí ANO 2011 as a Czech local governance participant. Having put emphasis on ANO's local organizations, the diploma thesis deals with particular situations in selected statutory cities during the 2014-2018 electoral cycle. As the electoral cycle went by, internal problems in local organizations emerged which ended up with party board abolishing some of the organizations. Coalitions in which ANO participated also were affected by those problems. In some cities, however, coalitions persisted and ANO local organizations had not suffer with internal problems, study of which also became a part of the research in the thesis. Having a strong leader from the business environment and limited membership, ANO 2011 is considered to be a business-firm party focused on marketing strategies and external specialists. As a typical business-firm party instance Forza Italia can be named, established in 1990s by Italian businessman and future prime minister Silvio Berlusconi. Business-firm party character of ANO may affect local governance where ANO's local organizations follow ANO party board's instructions and those organizations lack of autonomy to make their own political decisions.

Thesis "Activists on the Road to Zapatista Territory" gives a resonance of actual results of my research among activists in Chiapas and Germany with contemporary theories. Based in theories of globalization and social movement and in dialogue with fieldwork data, it elaborates proper analytical concepts. These concepts enable to study journeys of activists to the Zapatista territory in Mexican state of Chiapas. Thesis aims to follow concepts of neo- zapatistas networks, which emerged around indigenous Zapatists and spread all over the World. Middle-Class activists from Germany enter these networks while travelling to Chiapas. Thesis scrutinize the nature of six months' journeys of activists and especially focus on transformation of so-called Imaginative knowledge of the World to Experienced knowledge of the World in the context of exoticism, poverty and Zapatista resistence.
