The thesis deals with the first comlete presentation of Wagner´s opera cycle The Ring of the Nibelung in the National Theatre in Prague. It introducts the author´s life and his relation to Bohemia and Czech music. Further on it deals with the mythological theme of the Ring and philosophical reflections of its ending. The thesis culminates with analysis of each opera of the cycle presented in the National Theatre in Prague, evaluation of the production and its contribution to Czech culture.

The title of my master's thesis is Karel Pivoňka and Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and bassoon class from the beginning to the present. In the first chapter is the development of czech bassoon school and everything that preceded the bassoon class of Academy of Performing Arts. In the first chapter is subchapter where I mention the personality of Karel Bidlo, which also had an effect on the development of czech bassoon school. In the second chapter I discuss Academy of Performing Arts, the school and individual departments. In the third chapter describes the personality of Karel Pivoňka and in the subchapter are listed all the graduates of the Conservatory and the Academy of Performing Arts, which studied at prof. Karel Pivoňka. In the following chapter are the most significant graduates from the beginning to the present. The last chapter is an overview of most concerts and broadcasts for radio, which played Karel Pivoňka. Annex is scanned photo of Karel Pivoňka.

The itemization of compositions I enriched by the characteristics and analysis of some compositions focused on the difficulty and appearance of contemporary clarinet techniques. Last but not last, I write about the establishment, history, and point of each competition and their contribution to young talented musicians.

This thesis discusses the method of approach of Albert Schweitzer's performance interpretation of Johann Sebastian Bach's organ compositions and his influence on contemporary interpretations. The first part is devoted to the historical context of major milestones in the life of Albert Schweitzer and a history of interpretation of Johann Sebastian Bach's works. The second part of the study analyzes some of the recordings of Albert Schweitzer and of contemporary interpreters, their distinct interpretive approach and the registration of individual compositions.

The aim of this master's thesis is the analysis of musical compositions from the standpoint of time resources of music. The introduction briefly describes the basic musicological terms and variables that are in direct relationship to the time resources in expressive music performance. The following part of the work is devoted to the known methods of digital signal processing, suitable for music information retrieval from audio recordings. In the practical part these methods are demonstrated on three recordings in MATLAB environment and the results were compared in terms of used agogics.

Presented master thesis tackles common piano practicing issues among students at the first stage of piano learning. The main purpose of the study is to investigate the difficulties that block students' progress, and analyze proper approaches that improve students' musical capabilities. The practicing issues are scientifically categorized into three categories: technical, interpretative and general practicing and performing issues, and are further analyzed from physical, psychological, and most importantly, educational perspective. In addition, contemporary piano teaching methods from various countries are explored and various methodologies and teaching philosophies are investigated and presented. Effective approaches, suitable strategies and practicing suggestions are provided in the study for both teachers and learners. Chinese piano educators can use this study to enrich their teaching methodologies and to develop new piano teaching methods.
