ON-Line DSP-Based Uninterrupt Power Supply

Hu, Jenchieh 26 July 2001 (has links)
This thesis designs a DSP-based controller which is composed of two parts, voltage controller and current controller.A proportional controller, treated as the current controller,is designed in the inner loop to control the capacitor charging current fast and effectively, especially when the sudden load is occurred. An PI controller, treated as the voltage controller,is designed in the outer loop to improve the system response irrespectively of system¡¦s parameter variation and load disturbance. The experimental result shows the output voltage can follow a sin wave which can match command exactly under the control scheme.

On Line Behavior Of Using Cyber Coffee : A Case Study For The User Of Cyber Coffee in Kaohsiung

Chang, Joseph 08 July 2002 (has links)
Abstract Most of people were introduced that cyber coffee shop equivalent to electrical game shop, and electrical game shop was regard as gambling place. Therefore , cyber coffee shop was misinterpreted to gambling place before. Meanwhile , people who merely know the addiction of cyber coffee shop , but do not try to know the reason why people have such addiction. The young people like to stay at cyber coffee shop where has not only hi-end facility but also good partnership can be found there. Especially , for some people who can escape from parent¡¦s or others interruptions and enjoy themselves while they stay at the cyber coffee shop. After reviewing the previous literatures, we adopt to do the case study from the point of view of schoolwork , relationship and filiation. In principle , we focus on studying the user¡¦s on line behavior of cyber coffee shop in Kaohsiung. Finally we found that the young students are major users of cyber coffee shop in Kaohsiung , and they express that they can well handle the schoolwork. Even though they are good users who have better intelligence , we still worry them will be affected by poor circumstance and play with highly potential risk if the owners of cyber coffee shop have not well management. It worthy to think how to well manage the discipline of cyber coffee shop by responsible education department of government after concluded some guideline through this study.

Examining line broadening approximations using Xenomorph : a simulation line broadening program

Gomez, Thomas Alexander 24 March 2014 (has links)
White dwarfs are particularly interesting due to their broad application to the field of astronomy (cosmochronology, SN Ia progenitors, asteroseismology). Examining distributions of white dwarf masses and temperatures, it is evident that there is some flaw in our ability to make physical atmosphere models. Tremblay and Bergeron (2009) used an {\it ad hoc} treatment of line broadening and derived significantly different surface gravity and temperatures for white dwarfs, demonstrating the importance of the line broadneing treatment in determining stellar parameters for high surface gravity stars. This thesis presents a new line broadening program, Xenomorph, based on simulation techniques. Xenomorph is used to examine various approximations used in line broadening calculations used in white dwarf atmospheres. Some approximations, like including fine structure and lower state perturbations, have small, if detectable effects. Ion motions during a transition can make features commonly seen in Stark profiles less pronounced and leads to an increase in the FWHM of the lines. Including a more complete basis set at higher densities will result in extra features, including asymmetries that has been observed in many experiments. / text

Proposed Manitoba Hydro D.C. transmissionline east of Lake Winnipeg: Identification of alternative corridors with a view to minimize adverse effects on outdoor recreation

Asgarali, Ashmede S.J. 28 August 2015 (has links)
A regional assessment of the potential impacts of transmission facilities on the area east of Lake Winnipeg was conducted in order to identify alternative transmission corridors with the emphasis on minimizing the adverse effects on outdoor recreation. A regional resource inventory of the Biotic, Socio-cultural, and Recreational Components of the study area was assembled. Impacts of severe, high, moderate and low were defined and applied to the resource inventory. Four possible corridor routes; --A, B, C and D --were identified at the northern extent of the study area, converging to three just south of the fifty-second parallel; one with its associated trunk line along the east shore of Lake Winnipeg, the other with its associated trunk line along the midline of the study area and the third, along the Manitoba-Ontario border veering southeast to a common exit near the Fort Alexander Indian Reserve. Finally, the corridor on the east shore of Lake Winnipeg and the central corridor converge in the Manigotagan area and exit the study area near the Fort Alexander Indian Reserve. / October 2015

COMPREHENSIVE TECHNIQUES TO DETERMINE BROADBAND PHYSICALLY-CONSISTENT MATERIAL CHARCTERISTICS USING TRANSMISSION LINES

Zhou, Zhen January 2009 (has links)
Dispersion, attenuation, and crosstalk are several major challenges that both a high-speed digital and a microwave serial link must overcome to achieve their desirable performance. These phenomena are directly related to the frequency dependency of the dielectric property of the material used in package and interconnect. The dielectric property of a material is commonly measured by its manufacturer in a particular direction at a few discrete frequencies using resonator and waveguide methodology. Since the dielectric property may vary during manufacturing processing, the measurements taken by the manufacturer might be not adequate. Moreover, the dielectric property of a material in a bandwidth that covers at least the second harmonics of the fundamental operational frequency is required to accurately predict the link performance. One of the efforts in this research is to investigate the methodology of realizing broadband characteristics of the dielectric property of a material in its "as packaged" configuration using various transmission line topologies, such as microstrip line and Co-Planar Waveguide (CPW). Transitions from CPW to other transmission line topologies are mandatory if CPW probes are used to achieve broadband and repeatable measurements. Since microstrip line is one of the transmission line topologies involved in this research, a research effort is dedicated to develop a broadband CPW-to-microstrip line transition. An effort is also expended to creating casual material models that can be used in electromagnetic simulators to appropriately model the link based on the polarization mechanism of the materials. In addition to focusing on the measurement method in frequency domain, Short Pulse Propagation (SPP), a time domain method, is investigated as well. A virtual test bench is created to investigate the correlation between impedance variations in stripline structures due to fabricated tolerance and the attenuation predicted by SPP.
