A leitura do jornal impresso e do jornal on-line é o objeto de análise desta tese. Com o objetivo de compreender e discutir os indícios que se destacam nessas práticas de leitura em contextos educacionais diferentes foram selecionadas seis professoras e trinta alunos, entre 9 e 10 anos, de quatro escolas públicas, sendo uma do Brasil e três de Portugal. Ao estudar duas realidades histórico-culturais diferentes, mas com o uso da mesma língua, a tese tem o objetivo de contribuir para o avanço nas pesquisas em educação e de levantar questões e reflexões sobre novas tecnologias que surgem no contexto social e, particularmente, no escolar. Trata-se de uma investigação de cunho essencialmente qualitativo e interpretativo. Metodologicamente, o trabalho de pesquisa foi dividido em duas partes: a primeira, foi realizada uma experiência de ensino com 6 alunos brasileiros de uma escola pública de Marília, cujo suporte metodológico foi a pesquisa-ação. A metodologia escolhida para o desenvolvimento da primeira parte deste estudo visava a encontrar indícios de práticas de leitura do jornal impresso transportadas para situações de leitura do jornal on-line. As aulas de leitura do suporte eletrônico e do impresso foram gravadas em vídeo e os relatos verbais dos alunos gravados em fitas cassetes. Na segunda parte da pesquisa, um estudo etnográfico, tem como instrumento principal de coleta a observação e a entrevista semi-estruturada, realizada tanto com professores, como com alunos do Brasil e de Portugal, com o propósito de investigar o uso do jornal impresso e on-line... / This research starts from the existence of a new phenomenon, the cyber culture, which implements a new space for reading, with tools that will allow the building of new practices, interfering and modifying the formation of the reader in process. The reading of the print and the on-line newspaper is the object of the analysis of this thesis. With the main goal of understanding and discussing the evidences that stand out in these reading practices, six teachers and thirty students were selected, between 9 and 10 years old, of four public schools, being one from Brazil and three from Portugal, for the development of the research. By studying two different historic-cultural realities, but with the use of the same language, the goal of the thesis is contributing with the advance in educational researches, and raise questions and reflections about new technologies that are brought out on the social and particularly scholar context. It’s about an investigation, essentially, qualitative and interpretative. Methodologically, the research job was divided in two parts: in the first part of the research, a study experience was made with 6 Brazilian students of a public school from Marília, whose methodological gadget was the research-action. The chosen method for the development of the second part of this study aimed to find evidences of reading practices of the print newspaper transported to reading situations of the on-line newspaper. A transposição do fazer jornalístico impresso ao on-line se deu devido à novidade que a Internet trouxe como meio, sem a definição de estilo. No entanto, houve a necessidade de o jornalismo on-line assumir sua própria técnica e forma; primeiramente utilizando as potencialidades que a rede oferece como o hipertexto, multimídia, interatividade, personalização, memória e instantaneidade para se tornar diferente. A partir da conceituação do jornalismo praticado na Internet, com enfoque no modelo de portal local, este trabalho mapeou o ciberespaço de Mato Grosso do Sul quanto à existência de portais jornalísticos independentes e discutiu a gestão da informação no maior portal do Estado, o Campo Grande News. A gestão da informação foi aplicada sob o enfoque da comunicação e abordou os processos de produção da notícia. O estudo de caráter exploratório utilizou como técnica de coleta de dados, a observação direta do funcionamento do site na Internet e entrevistas com proprietário, funcionários e jornalistas do portal, abordando três grandes questões de análise: planejamento, comunicação e tecnologia. Por fim, esta pesquisa indicou a tendência dos portais locais na Internet, bem como teceu considerações quanto ao modelo explorado atualmente / With the popularization of internet as a mean of information diffusion, the transformation of journalism was felt in several directions, such as in production techniques, news catching and diffusion, writing style, and also in the possibilities made available by the new medium of communication. The transposition of press journalism into on-line journalism occurred because of the novelty brought by internet as a medium, with no definition of style. However, on-line journalism had to assume its own technique and form, at first by using the potentialities offered by the net, such as hypertext, multimedia, interactiviy, personalization, memory and instantaneity, in order to become different. From the concept of internet journalism, focusing on the model of local portal, this paper mapped Mato Grosso do Sul's cyberspace as to the existence of independent journalistic portals and discussed the information management in the State's largest portal, Campo Grande News. Information management was applied under the focus of communication and approached the processes of news production. The techniques of data collection used by this exploratory study was direct observation of the site working on the internet and interviews with the portal owner, employees and journalists, focusing on three major issues: planning, communication and technology. O objetivo do presente estudo é identificar as possíveis dimensões que formam a atitude do internauta em relação aos sites de leilão on-line, por meio da aplicação de um instrumento de coleta de dados e posterior avaliação da atitude global. Inicialmente são apresentados os conceitos referentes a atitude sobre uma perspectiva histórica e, os modelos estruturais mais conhecidos e as formas mais utilizadas para se avaliar as atitudes. São apresentados também os conceitos referentes ao comércio eletrônico com foco no modelo de leilões on-line. É desenvolvida uma escala para se medir atitudes, com base tanto na literatura encontrada como por meio de entrevistas com usuários do site. Para se analisar e validar a escala, é feita uma pesquisa exploratória com mais de quinhentos internautas onde por meio do uso de análise fatorial, chega-se a um modelo onde à atitude global foi avaliada. / The aim of this research paper is to identify the dimension of internauts? attitudes towards online auctions? websites through a questionnaire application for data collecting and posterior evaluation of global attitude. This paper presents at first some attitude concepts from a historical perspective, the most known structural models and the most used ways for attitude evaluating. Some concepts about eletronic commerce, focusing on online actions are also discussed. Then a scale was developed based on the literature review and in interviews made with the website?s users, in order to measure attitudes. With the purpose of analyzing and validating the scale an exploratory research was done with more than five hundred internauts and using factorial analysis a model where the global attitude was evaluated has been constructed.

The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out, if preschool kid is able to pick up the in-line skating and to find out, if this activity is used among preschool kids in school or out of school form. The conditions for in-line skating in certain location is also researched. The methodology for teaching in-line skating of preschool kids is also made. The methodology is based on experiment. The main research issue of this thesis is to find out the realization of in- line skating with preschool kids. First chapter deals with general information about in-line skating, such as history of this sport, division into various branches and proper equipment. Second chapter informs about the connection between in-line skating and health. There are pros and cons which influence person's life, characterization of preschool age, motor development and what the appropriate age for children to start is. Third chapter is focused on technique and methodology of in-line skating. Practical part deals with the evaluation of the mastering level of in-line skating among preschool kids, which is researched with questionnaire and experiment. This thesis deals with the possibilities of using on-line diagnostic tools in selecting employees. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes the theoretical basis for selection of employees, psychodiagnostics and on-line diagnostics. Attention is paid to psycho diagnostic characteristics and determination of preferences and risks of on-line diagnostics. The practical section examines and assesses the individual tools on-line diagnostics available for selection of employees on the Czech market - specifically, by the company Access Assessment s.r.o., Assessment Systems s.r.o., cut-e czech s.r.o and www.SCIO.cz, s.r.o. The tools are evaluated on the basis of psychometric features, factor is the standardization, objectivity, reliability and validity, as these characteristics determine the quality of the questionnaire or test. The result is a recommendation of an on-line questionnaire and tests that are for standard practice in the selection procedure most applicable.

Apesar de todo o crescimento apresentado, o comércio eletrônico está apenas iniciando. As diferenças entre as lojas virtuais e as lojas físicas além das estratégias inovadoras de marketing neste novo ambiente devem estar mudando hábitos e estilos de compra. Não obstante às novas opções e formas para comprar que o consumidor passou a ter, muito pouco se sabe sobre as mudanças em relação às suas atitudes, percepções, adoção ou não da compra virtual. Este foi o elemento direcionador deste trabalho que procura analisar as inter-relações entre a inovatividade e o envolvimento, fatores que se apresentaram como preditores da adoção da internet em estudos anteriores, a atitude dentro do modelo TPB (Theory of Planned Behavior) decomposto desenvolvido, na Psicologia Social com o processo de adoção da compra pela internet. Considera-se a Cultura como fator moderador, comparando-se os resultados com países de culturas diferentes a partir das dimensões de Hofstede. Com este propósito foi elaborado um modelo integrativo considerando os estudos desenvolvidos sobre os fatores apontados e que possibilitasse explicar a relação entre estes fatores e a compra pela internet dentro de um contexto de diferenciação cultural de consumidores de diferentes países. O trabalho envolveu uma pesquisa de campo considerando uma amostra não probabilística internacional de estudantes de grupos de países com grandes diferenças nas dimensões culturais, possibilitando assim, destacar a influência da cultura na relação entre inovatividade, envolvimento, atitude e experiência com a internet e a adoção da compra pela internet. O procedimento de coleta envolveu o desenvolvimento de um site contendo um questionário com auto preenchimento pela internet. Para poder ser entendido pelos respondentes, o questionário é apresentado nos idiomas: português, inglês, francês, espanhol e alemão. Para a análise dos resultados foi utilizado o método multivariado de modelagem de equações estruturais, aplicado por meio da técnica PLS (Partial Least Squares) para a verificação, explicação e comparação das relações entre os construtos. Os resultados mostram que a intenção da compra pela internet é diretamente influenciada pela atitude como fator interno e pela pressão social como fator externo. Apresenta também a influência indireta do envolvimento. A relação entre os fatores intenção e compra, assim como, envolvimento e atitude é mais forte nos países com mais igualdade entre seus membros e mais individualistas, enquanto a influência dos fatores inovatividade e condições facilitadoras se apresentou mais forte nas sociedades mais coletivistas que nas mais individualistas. As sociedades mais voltadas para a realização e a aquisição de dinheiro e posses materiais apresentaram maior influência de fatores sociais na intenção de adotar a compra pela internet que as culturas com maior preocupação com com a qualidade de vida e com o meio ambiente. As culturas com menor aversão ao risco mostraram uma relação mais forte entre o envolvimento e a atitude que as mais aversas ao risco enquanto para estas últimas a influência social é mais forte na adoção da compra pela internet. Estes resultados podem ajudar no desenvolvimento de estratégias de marketing num ambiente em que as barreiras internacionais parecem estar estão diminuindo e as empresas buscam estar presentes em diferentes países por meio do marketing global. / Although all the presented growth, the electronic commerce is only initiating. The differences between the virtual store and the physical store beyond the innovative strategies of marketing in this new environment must be changing habits and styles of purchase. Not obstante the new options and forms to buy that the consumer started to have, much little is known on the changes in relation to its attitudes, perceptions, adoption or not of the virtual purchase. This was the driving element of this work that it looks to analyze the relations between the innovativity and the involvement, factors that if had presented as predictors of the adoption of the Internet in previous studies, the attitude inside of model TPB (Theory of Planned Behavior) decomposed developed in Social Psychology, with the process of adoption of the purchase by the Internet. The Culture is considered as factor moderator, comparing the results between countries of different cultures from the dimensions of Hofstede. With this intention an integrated model was elaborated considering the studies developed on the pointed factors and that it made possible to explain the relation between these factors and the purchase on line. The work involved a field research considering an international not probabilistic sample composed by students from groups of countries with great differences in the cultural dimensions, thus making possible, to detach the influence of the culture in the relation between innovativity, involvement, attitude and experience with the internet and the adoption of the purchase on line. The data collected procedure involved the development of a site contends a questionnaire with auto fulfilling by internet. To be able to be understood by the respondents, the questionnaire is presented in the languages: Portuguese, English, French, Spanish and German. For the analysis of the results the technique used was multivaried statistics of structural equations modeling applied by means of the program PLS (Partial Least Squares) for the verification, explanation and comparison of the relations between the constructs. The results show that the intention of the purchase on line is diectly influenced by the attitude as internal factor and the social pressure as external factor. It also presents the indirect influence of the involvement. The relation between the factors intention and involvement, as well as, involvement and purchase on line is stronger in the countries with more equality between its members and more individualistic. Societies that have tendency to the acquisition of money and goods. had presented greater influence of social factors in the adoption of the purchase by internet than the cultures with bigger concern with the quality of life and the environment. The cultures with less aversion to the risk had shown a stronger relation between the involvement and the attitude to buy on line than the societies with more aversion to the risk, while for this last the social influence is stronger in the adoption of the purchase on line. These results can help in the development of programs of marketing in an environment where the barriers are diminishing and the companies search to be gifts in different countries.

Propagation Characteristics of Microstrip Transmission Lines on Intrinsic Germanium Substrates

<p> The microstrip transmission line has been theoretically analysed using conformal transformation and variational techniques. The variational method has been used to compute the line capacitance, characteristic impedance and guide wavelength of the following microstrip structures: (i) Microstrip transmission lines having negligible and finite strip conductor thickness. (ii) Microstrip transmission lines on two layer dielectric substrates having negligible and finite strip conductor thickness.</p><p> The total losses incurred in microstrip lines on semiconductor substrates have been included. An experimental technique (based on the Deschamps method) for measuring the characteristic impedance of microstrip lines through a lossy junction using a high precision microwave reflection bridge has been described. Measurements of the characteristic impedance of microstrip lines on intrinsic germanium substrates have been carried out at 9.38 GHz, and good agreement between the theoretical and experimental results have been obtained.</p> / Thesis / Master of Engineering (MEngr)
