Soares, Adriano Mesquita 25 April 2015 (has links)
This research has as main objective to analyze, through the "Master Plan" tool, the technology transfer (TT) processes in UTFPR - Campus Curitiba. For the case study was carried out basic research, with qualitative and exploratory approach, the Master Plan was the instrument used for data collection. The technical procedures used: bibliography, documentary and case study. The results indicate barriers in TT processes related with information technology, and knowledge management. Need to be developed information and communication technology tools, improving access to information, facilitating decision-making and increasing agility by reducing bureaucracy. But even if there are barriers in TT processes, the UTFPR - Campus Curitiba is organized to be a model as regards the technology transfer. The top management of the institution is aware of the need for a dynamic interaction with the business community, focusing on its mission the institution through its TT structure can evolve into a more robust and integrated model.

Stakeholders' perceptions about their educational contributions of Gorongosa National Park in Mozambique

Maibaze, Ivete Joaquim 16 August 2012 (has links)
M.Ed. / This study, entitled "Stakeholders Perceptions about their Educational Contributions of GNP in Mozambique" focused on stakeholders of Nhambita buffer zone in the Province of Sofala. My interest in conducting such an investigation stemmed from the fact that when started this research I was working at the center for sustainable development of natural resources (CDS-RN) in Chimoio. — Manica Province and had Gorongosa National Park (GNP) as our pilot project. I realized that there were different stakeholders involved with the Park as well as the communities around it and not that much was done to improve their quality of life. Therefore, there was a need to conduct an inquiry which could lead to identifying the real reason underpinning the stakeholders not to do much and to afterwards draw some conclusions to modify the methodologies in order to change stakeholders' perceptions. In this regard, I conducted interviews and questionnaires in the community and with some stakeholders at Nhambita community, followed by data analysis of research data representing the stakeholders, community members, GNP and also to empower all participants. Hopefully, an educational programme would result from the consensus among all interested parties in the process with the objective of improving the citizen's life.

Nywerheidsbetrokkenheid by kurrikulumontwikkeling vir bouverwante vakke

Forrester, Walter 10 June 2014 (has links)
M.Ed. (Curriculum Studies) / In a rapidly changing world, where rivalry and competition influence each decision, it is imperative for employees to be educated and trained to the maximum, in order to perform their tasks in a comprehensively satisfactory manner. This can only be achieved when students undergo relevant education and training through a relevant curriculum. Due to the lack of communication between the industry and the education sector, as well as the fact that the requirements set by the industrial sector for a curriculum are not clearly defined, the curriculum does not address the needs of the industry. In this study the importance of involvement of the industry in the development of the curriculum for building-related subjects is addressed and the researcher endeavours to facilitate guidelines to promote continued co-operation and communication between all parties involved in curriculum design. The first phase of this study comprises of a literature study regarding curriculum development. In the next phase the empiric facet and its motivation is presented for the qualitative research in question. The last phase considers the data-analysis of the empiric research and after completing the above process, the following conclusions were made: That a greater measure of communication and co-operation between the industrial sector and the educ~tional sector can be established by developing definitive structures. This can be done by involving the broad spectrum of role-players to address specific curriculum matters. Communication channels have to be created so that there is continuous contact and co-operation between the two sectors. The value of this study is that the guidelines are not a direct assumption of the researcher himself. This was done by interviewing various employees and role-players of the two sectors, and it is therefore the employees' own opinion which is compiled in this study.

Developing strategies to improve the technical and vocational education training system in Swaziland

Mdluli, Grace Sizakele 01 1900 (has links)
D. Tech. (Business, Faculty of Management Sciences) Vaal University of Technology / The purpose of this study was to develop strategies to improve Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Swaziland. It has been 68 years since the TVET education was introduced in the country, but it has slowly been coming forth, especially in providing for the needs of society and industry. For this reason, the researcher wanted to find out what could be delaying the progress of the TVET system by developing some strategies to improve this aspect of training. The fundamental research questions were based on the strategies that could be developed to improve the TVET system in Swaziland and the importance of ensuring pre-service and in-service training for special target groups. It was worth mentioning that since the TVET policy had been officially launched and implemented, different stakeholders who would be expected to fully support and understand what the policy entails would recognise its functions. The policy states that skills training should be introduced in the school system at the earlier years of starting the school system to create awareness and love for various skills at an early age. In addition, it is imperative that the country give priority to the TVET versus the academic education as it had been proved through the unemployment rate that the jobs are actually shrinking whilst the work in the market is in abundance. Hence, there was a need to strategise methods of successfully implementing the TVET policy in order to benefit the government’s efforts in the aims and objectives set in the policy The study aimed at examining the challenges faced by the country in implementing the policy so that it could effectively address the TVET education in the most positive and successful manner. The main findings form part of the important basis of the study by providing evidence of research phenomenon that it is anticipated to denote. The findings of the study were discussed according to the participants’ responses collected during focus group interviews and individual in-depth interviews. Further developments for TVET improvement of the study showed the findings portray that there is a need to improve resource efficiency strategy and the private sector/industry should provide support to TVET students, via internships, attachment of identified relevant training staff, sharing of equipment or the provision of training programmes.

Avaliar o processo de transferência de conhecimento e tecnologia na disciplina de Técnicas de Gestão Industrial / To evaluate the process of transfer of knowledge and technology in the discipline of Industrial Management Techniques

Ditkun, Sérgio 02 July 2017 (has links)
The objective of this study was to evaluate the process of knowledge and technology transfer in the discipline of industrial management techniques through industrial management techniques as the transfer tool itself. First, a questionnaire was prepared with the best 45 management techniques found in the literature. The method used was Methodi Ordinatio. At the beginning of the Industrial Management Techniques classes, in March 2016, the 45 chosen techniques were given to some students to select, in their opinion, the 10 most important management techniques, and then it was also asked them to rank the techniques between 10 and 1, with 10 being the most important and 1 being the least important technique. The researched academics belong to the Graduate Program in Production Engineering of UTFPR - Ponta Grossa Campus. In total, 55 academics were researched, being 22 of the specialization group, 26 of the master and 7 of the PhD programm. From this sample, some scholars only study, while others also work. Then, the technology transfer process of the management techniques began using the methodology adopted by the Professor of the discipline. Once the classes were over, in June 2016, the research paper with the 45 management techniques was given again to the academics to rank the 10 practices they then considered the best. After comparing the answers of the two surveys, a roadmap was proposed so that the technology transfer tool would always be up to date with the best management practices. The main result was that there was a perception change of the ten best practices chosen, aswell as in the ranking relation of the first measurement, showing that there was a technology transfer in the discipline.A great contribution of this work to the University, especially for the Industrial Management Techniques discipline was the validation of the methodology and the technology transfer tool.
