This thesis offers a complex overview of the Prague Spring International Music Competition with a detailed focus on the basssoon category.

The topic of this Master’s thesis is term of the French oboe school and then the influence of this specific school on the oboe school in Bohemia. The aim of the thesis is to find validity of this term at present, provide factual informations about French oboe school and write down the own experiences of the author. In the introduction the author explains the meaning of the term French oboe school in this thesis, author represents the aims of the thesis and the reasons for choosing a topic. The first chapter focuses on the term of the French oboe school and its meaning in the context of time. Second chapter describes the historical development of the French oboe school, the French oboe producers and the current system of musical education in France. The third chapter, based on the author's experience, is focused on the French oboists who worked in Bohemia. Czech interpreters who are connected with the French oboe school are mentioned in the fourth chapter. The last chapter describes the author's experience with studying at the Paris National Conservatory of Music and Dance. Gained knowledges are summarized in the end of the thesis.

The aim of this thesis is to compare the geopolitical situation of Jordan after the Arab Spring and to outline future possible developments in the Middle East. The Arab Spring, began in 2011, is a series of popular uprisings and revolutions in the Arab countries, when the citizens were calling for better economic and political situation. It has resulted in several civil wars and refugee’s crisis, that dragged the attention of the rest of the world. Although Jordan is a small country without any significant natural resources or economic influence, it plays an important role in geopolitical developments in the region. This thesis starts with the introduction of the general historic moments of postwar Czechoslovakia. Attention is paid to the February 1948, Prague Spring and the events of August 1968. These dates established two waves of emigration from Czechoslovakia. In this context, there are presented personalities of Jiri Pelikan and Pavel Tigrid as leading personalities of exile. The analytical part focuses on the comparison of Tigrid's Svedectvi and Listy published by Jiri Pelikan. Analysis is based on important events in postwar history. The thesis is mainly focused on the different perceptions of the Prague Spring and the Velvet Revolution in 1989.

This thesis discusses international music competitions, their struggle with their subjectivity, awarded prizes and following up the success of their laureates. In a case study the thesis introduces the International Music Competition Prague Spring, its history and present. The competition is analyzing by using the SWOT analysis and intern analysis methods. Based on its results the thesis suggests solutions in terms of strategic planning, work with media, partners and laureates.

This diploma thesis is focusing on analyzing a possible influence of new media on politics with an emphasis on the three most popular social networks as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. The main methods used in this thesis are analysis and subsequent comparison of acquired facts. This thesis has two subtopics. Firstly, it is the action and the access of Czech and world politicians on the social networks. Secondly, it analyses the events of the Arab Spring in the years 2010 and 2011. This thesis is based both on professional literature of Czech and foreign authors, that follows up mass media, mass communication and new media, as well as on studies analyzing social networks as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, on Czech and foreign newspapers, TV broadcasts and post electoral studies.

abstract: The human motion is defined as an amalgamation of several physical traits such as bipedal locomotion, posture and manual dexterity, and mental expectation. In addition to the “positive” body form defined by these traits, casting light on the body produces a “negative” of the body: its shadow. We often interchangeably use with silhouettes in the place of shadow to emphasize indifference to interior features. In a manner of speaking, the shadow is an alter ego that imitates the individual. The principal value of shadow is its non-invasive behaviour of reflecting precisely the actions of the individual it is attached to. Nonetheless we can still think of the body’s shadow not as the body but its alter ego. Based on this premise, my thesis creates an experiential system that extracts the data related to the contour of your human shape and gives it a texture and life of its own, so as to emulate your movements and postures, and to be your extension. In technical terms, my thesis extracts abstraction from a pre-indexed database that could be generated from an offline data set or in real time to complement these actions of a user in front of a low-cost optical motion capture device like the Microsoft Kinect. This notion could be the system’s interpretation of the action which creates modularized art through the abstraction’s ‘similarity’ to the live action. Through my research, I have developed a stable system that tackles various connotations associated with shadows and the need to determine the ideal features that contribute to the relevance of the actions performed. The implication of Factor Oracle [3] pattern interpretation is tested with a feature bin of videos. The system also is flexible towards several methods of Nearest Neighbours searches and a machine learning module to derive the same output. The overall purpose is to establish this in real time and provide a constant feedback to the user. This can be expanded to handle larger dynamic data. In addition to estimating human actions, my thesis best tries to test various Nearest Neighbour search methods in real time depending upon the data stream. The thesis focuses on the progress of the oil economies in MENA since 90's. Due to the outbreak of unrest in the Arab world, the thesis deals with the political area and causes leading to the Arab Spring. The importance of oil in the world economy and it's discovery in the Middle East and North Africa increased strategic importance of this region. Arab countries have for the past three decades undergone significant social, economic and political transformation and their oil wealth played a major role in this transformation. The first chapter focuses on economic theory dealing with raw materials and their impact on economic growth of countries. The next chapter focuses on presentation of the MENA region. The third chapter deals with the development of four selected countries - Algeria, Egypt, Syria and Libya since 90's, the impact of the global financial crisis on Arab countries and the Arab Spring.
