Analýza zapojení zahraničních dobrovolníků do hodin anglického jazyka na vybrané základní škole / Analysis of foreign volunteers' involvement in English language classes at particular elementary school

Medwell, Gabriela January 2019 (has links)
IN ENGLISH Along growing international cooperation, multicultural interconnectedness and generally improving social situation in Europe a number of international volunteering activities is growing. Much has already been written regarding motivation for such activities as well as about general perception od necessity to help others as a component of well developer civic society but until now there has not been described in detail how such long term international volunteering experience is perceived by volunteers themselves. This Diploma Thesis is a qualitative case study analysing experience of volunteering of six international volunteers from the European Union countries as well as from the countries out of the European Union. The research of their opinion and attitudes shows how they in relation with those opinion value benefits and losses in the Framework of their volunteering experience. In the triangualtion to the perspective of the volunteers, a perspective of all involved pupils and teachers is further analysed. Volunteers'experience is studied based on semi structured interviews, semantic diferential, time lines and their authorial products. To assess the perspective of pupils who reguraly met with the volunteers two anonymous questionnaires were issued. The perspective of involved teachers...

Pokračovatelé posesiv suus a illorum v románských jazycích / Continuators of the possessives suus and illorum in the Romance languages

Jančík, Jiří January 2019 (has links)
English abstract: The text looks into the working of the 6th person possessivity exponence on the base of the analysis of two concrete paradigms - paradigms SUUS and ILLORUM. Its proposal is to comprend and to describe all changes of the semiosis of both of the two paradigms on their transition from the Latin diasystem to the Protoromance and the Romance one. These changes will be mesured and described on the base of the eight parameters of semiotic and semiologic description as changes of (1) formal aspect, (2) conceptual aspect, (3) reference, (4) extension, (5) intension, (6) differential value, (7) paradigmatic relations, (8) syntagmatic relations. On the base of the analysis of the individual diasystems we try to identify the connection, the relationship among the Romance centres, with the objective to identify the sources of the importation of linguistic innovations. English keywords: 6th person possessivity, reflexive possessivity, non-reflexive possessivity, possessives, ILLORUM, SUUS, semiosis, grammaticalization, suppletion, linguistic innovation, exportation of linguistic models, endophoricity, logophoricity, exophoricity, vulgar Latin, classical Latin, Romance languages

Výuka anglického jazyka u dětí se specifickými poruchami učení a výchovnými problémy na 2. stupni základních škol / Teaching English to Children with Specific Learning Disabilities and Behavioural Problems at Middle Schools

ŘÍHOVÁ, Klára January 2019 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with teaching English to children with specific learning disabilities and educational problems. The theoretical part describes the most frequent educational problems of children and adolescents. Further attention is paid to the problems of specific learning difficulties, the causes of their origin and their manifestations in teaching English at middle school. Finally, the thesis deals with the methodological principles for foreign language teaching of children with specific learning disabilities. The research part is based on the case studies of children placed in specialized facilities due to their educational problems. I participated in individual assistance to two concrete children and I worked out case studies based on our cooperation. The aim of the empirical part is to choose a suitable individual approach to two concrete children, realize it, and reflect it in depth.

Relevance australizmů ve výuce anglického jazyka / Relevance of Australianisms in English Language Teaching

Hillier, Markéta January 2012 (has links)
TITLE: The Relevance of Australianisms in English Language Teaching AUTHOR: Markéta Hillier DEPARTMENT: Department of English Language and Literature SUPERVISOR: PhDr. Klára Matuchová, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: The proposed thesis explores the existence of Australian English, the part it plays in Australian culture, available sources on the subject, the direction in which it is heading and the relevance of its teaching to foreign students. The theoretical section of the thesis explores the development of Australian English, modern Australian English, second language acquisition and aspects and importance of teaching vocabulary. The practical part of this thesis introduces two hypotheses: "Australianisms are constantly evolving and in order to keep up with new generations, fresh texts should be developed as a reference for both foreign students and tourists" and "Australian English vocabulary is very different to other English varieties; therefore, students need to be exposed to Australianisms in order to successfully communicate in the Australian environment". Upon statistical analysis the first hypothesis is supported with the second hypothesis being partially supported. KEYWORDS: Australia, Australian English, Australianisms, Second Language Acquisition, Vocabulary

Nové metody generování promluv v dialogových systémech / Novel Methods for Natural Language Generation in Spoken Dialogue Systems

Dušek, Ondřej January 2017 (has links)
Title: Novel Methods for Natural Language Generation in Spoken Dialogue Systems Author: Ondřej Dušek Department: Institute of Formal and Applied Linguistics Supervisor: Ing. Mgr. Filip Jurčíček, Ph.D., Institute of Formal and Applied Linguistics Abstract: This thesis explores novel approaches to natural language generation (NLG) in spoken dialogue systems (i.e., generating system responses to be presented the user), aiming at simplifying adaptivity of NLG in three respects: domain portability, language portability, and user-adaptive outputs. Our generators improve over state-of-the-art in all of them: First, our gen- erators, which are based on statistical methods (A* search with perceptron ranking and sequence-to-sequence recurrent neural network architectures), can be trained on data without fine-grained semantic alignments, thus simplifying the process of retraining the generator for a new domain in comparison to previous approaches. Second, we enhance the neural-network-based gener- ator so that it takes preceding dialogue context into account (i.e., user's way of speaking), thus producing user-adaptive outputs. Third, we evaluate sev- eral extensions to the neural-network-based generator designed for producing output in morphologically rich languages, showing improvements in Czech generation. In...

Analýza cizojazyčných interakcí v kontextu rané imerze. Kvalitativní výzkum komunikačních strategií na základě videozáznamu. / Analysis of foreign language interactions in the context of early immersion. Qualitative research of communication strategies based on videorecording.

KŘIKAVOVÁ, Alena January 2017 (has links)
This diploma thesis focuses on teaching German language to preschool children in Czech nursery schools. The theoretical section defines the conditions of early foreign language learning and opinions on it, and presents arguments for early German as a second language learning. Suitable methods for education of preschool children are discussed as well. The aim of this thesis is to determine and compare how early foreign language learning is realized in particular preschool institutions, based on the information from videos made within the project "Intercultural education of children, students and teachers". E.g. whether the children understand instructions given in foreign language and the teacher's speech, the extent to which the communication takes place in German within the group, which activities are most often used, the ways or forms of implementation of these activities and whether they meet the conditions of early foreign language learning. The diploma thesis summarizes the education methods of individual preschool institutions and identifies potential mistakes made, and it suggests more effective ways of teaching.

Klasifikace žánrů pomocí strojového učení / Genres classification by means of machine learning

Bílek, Jan January 2018 (has links)
In this thesis, we compare the bag of words approach with doc2vec doc- ument embeddings on the task of classification of book genres. We cre- ate 3 datasets with different text lengths by extracting short snippets from books in Project Gutenberg repository. Each dataset comprises of more than 200000 documents and 14 different genres. For 3200-character documents, we achieve F1-score of 0.862 when stacking models trained on both bag of words and doc2vec representations. We also explore the relationships be- tween documents, genres and words using similarity metrics on their vector representations and report typical words for each genre. As part of the thesis, we also present an online webapp for book genre classification. 1

Techniky dramatické výchovy v soft CLIL vyučování na 2. stupni základní školy / Drama techniques in soft CLIL lessons in a lower-secondary class

Wirnitzerová, Jitka January 2015 (has links)
This diploma thesis is focused on acquiring communicative competence in teaching the English language as a foreign language. It is based on the presumption that students are not aware of some components of communication which partake in understanding when communicating in a foreign language (context of situation, nonverbal communication, paralinguistic features). This assumption is being verified via questionnaires. The theoretical basis describes the grounding and benefits of drama techniques used in teaching a foreign language and The Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) method. Both these approaches are used for preparation of three experimental lesson plans which are put into practice. Video recordings are made which, along with information from students and their teacher, serve as a detailed analysis of the whole experiment.
