Univerzita v městském prostoru: Univerzita Karlova a Universität Wien / University in the City Space: Charles University and University of Vienna

Kavan, Ondřej January 2018 (has links)
This thesis is a comparative case study that employs the disciplines and subjects of urban studies, history of universities and city planning. It presents and compares the history of the built environment of the Charles University Prague and the University of Vienna from their very beginning until present days. Main subject of the study therefore is the (spatial) city- university relationship and the position of the respective university in it. How many areas does the university use? What are these like? What are the distances between each of them and what is the distance to the attractive downtown? What are the respective historical contexts of all the development plans, which of them became reality and which not? These research questions are answered in the comparative analysis of the two universities. A second subject of the paper is the analysis of the agility of the universities who are facing some global development trends of the university strategic planning and have to deal with them both now and in the future. Do the development plans of the university support the interdisciplinary cooperation, globally competitive science or it's own position in the host city in order to support own attractiveness and efficiency? All these questions are discussed and answered.

Akademická spolupráce mezi Univerzitou Karlovou v Praze a Univerzitou Hamburk v období tzv. normalizace / The Academic Cooperation between Charles University in Prague and University of Hamburg during the Period of the So-called Normalization

Kuklíková, Kateřina January 2020 (has links)
This master thesis deals with the development of the academic relations between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany during the so-called normalization, so from the beginning of the 1970s to the fall of the so-called Iron Curtain. The main focus lies on the inter-university partnership between Charles University in Prague and the University of Hamburg, which was concluded in Prague in 1980 and is successfully carried out till today. It was the first cooperation agreement Charles University made with a West German university during the period of the cold war. The thesis analyses, in which way both universities approached the partnership and how the cooperation could be put into practice. The main objective of the text is to find out which dynamics the partnership in the observed period gained and if the cooperation even managed to overcome the original expectations of the main actors considering the given conditions within the domestic and international politics. The examined cooperation is put into a broader context, not only of the development of the Czechoslovak-West German relations but also of the situation within international politics. The partnership was possible to negotiate thanks to bilateral agreements, which arranged the further development of the...

Příprava učitelů primární školy na pedagogických fakultách v ČR / Education of primary school teachers at the faculties of education in the Czech Republic

Vokšická, Barbora January 2020 (has links)
The quality of education of teachers has recently started to be in the focus of educational theory, research and of education policy in all developed countries, including the Czech Republic. We face problems such as unqualified teachers, the lack of interest of young people in teaching, the departure of teachers from schools, the quality of education of teacher, with regard to the needs of modern society and the labor market. Furthermore, the lack of a standard for the teaching profession together with the high autonomy of universities leads to a situation in which individual faculties of primary education design education programs completely independently and we have little information, If they are equipping graduates with comparable knowledge and skills, building similar attitudes and establishing teacher education of similar priority. The theoretical part is devoted to the development of teacher education of primary schools in the Czech Republic after 1989, the legislative and conceptual anchoring of university teacher training. In the practical part, the thesis attempts to answer the question of how different is the preparation of primary school teachers at various faculties of education in the Czech Republic. The case studies were carried out at two departments of primary education in order to...
