Kubátová, Zuzana January 2021 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with Catholicism in Poland and its permeation through the Polish national identity. The introductory chapter characterizes the concept of identity Polak-Katolik and its individual aspects that co-create this concept, as a rate of religiosity; the interconnection of Catholicism with polish statehood; Christianity as a part of national identity and historical events during which the Polak-Katolik connection was strengthened. The thesis then focuses in more detail on selected historical milestones in Polish history, which shows, how the elements of Catholicism permeated into the identity of Poles. The thesis assumes that the permeation of polish-catholic occurred mainly in critical periods. Therefore, for the purposes of the work, mainly events were selected when the existence of the Polish nation was threatened and faith together with the Roman Catholic Church played significant role in its preservation, such as during the siege of the monastery in Czenstochowa, the period of polish partition and the period of communism. Krize francouzského konceptu laïcité? / Crisis of the French concept of laïcité?

Lánová, Zuzana January 2015 (has links)
Master thesis "The Crisis of French concept of laïcité" ponders the current status of laïcité in the atmosphere of contemporary France. General feeling in French society is characterized by a negative attitude of ethnic Frenchmen towards the growing presence of Islam which is accentuated by growing Muslim's demands in economic and social fields. Main goal of this thesis is to prove that the contemporary state of the concept of laïcité can be perceived as a crisis which comes through the differences between perceptions of principles based on laïcité. This notion will be proved on the basis of the theory of social constructionism complemented by the two-way-protection theory which deals with relations between state and churches. The hypothesis anticipates that Muslims, Catholics, Non- believers and even the State are using principles of laïcité depending on actual situation and impact of different actors and in order to ensure their own interests. Thereby they create the concept laïcité as a social construct. The main field in which the thesis proves this hypothesis is the French school system which is crucial for forming and maintaining the Republic and its values. The hypothesis is argued by several concrete examples such as several legislative measures adopted by the French state, for instance the...

Zásnuby v katolické církvi aneb Smlouva o smlouvě budoucí / Engagement in the Catholic Church alias Letter of intent

Legnerová, Eva January 2022 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the relationship commitment in the context of engagement and the period until marriage of Roman Catholics, who celebrated the Catholic engagement ritual. It aims to describe the process of engagement of Catholic couples and the way in which they understand the engagement commitment. The theoretical part is divided into three chapters. The first chapter describes the personal, societal and ritual aspects of engagement. The second chapter explores the psychological notion of commitment and selected psychological theories of commitment. The third chapter captures the emphasis of the Roman Catholic Church on strengthening the couples' commitment in the period from engagement to the wedding ceremony. The time of engagement is a transitional period, during which a person needs to prepare to abandon their existing social position and accept a new one (from single life to the life of a husband/wife). The social environment, which the individual is a part of, comes into forefront during that time. The Catholics put stress on using this time to dutifully consider whether the engaged couple wants to accept the sacrament of marriage. It is important to note that there are attractive and repellent forces at work in each romantic relationship, which determine its quality and...

In addition to the civic opposition, the situation of the Catholic Church in Poland is described with emphasis on the circumstances and events that built the relationship between the Church and the stateas well as between the Church and the Solidarity movement. Due to the profile of the work, one of the chapters also deals with dissent in the then Czechoslovakia, both civic and Catholic. Teologický odkaz české moderny v životě a díle Františka Bílka / THE THEOLOGICAL LEGACY OF CZECH MODERNISM IN THE LIFE AND WORK OF FRANTIŠEK BÍLEK

Langer, Marketa January 2018 (has links)
ThDr. Marketa Langer Praha, 2018 THE THEOLOGICAL LEGACY OF CZECH MODERNISM IN THE LIFE AND WORK OF FRANTIŠEK BÍLEK ABSTRACT This thesis looks at the life and work of the artist Frantisek B lek in relation to the theological legacy of Czech Catholic modernism at the end of the nineteenth and early twentieth century over three chapters. Its objective is to answer three questions: Was the artist the mystic he was perceived to be at the time? Can he be termed a modernist? What were his reasons for joining the Czechoslovak Church when it was founded in 1920? The study uses the method of hypotheses which are stated in advance in the questions posed, and then subsequently tested. Another method used is an analysis and comparison of the approach and attitudes of Czech society to the artist during his life. The introductory chapter describes the study's key indicators with a brief description of the issues, and also the form and structure used. Part A looks at the environment during the emergence of modern Europe; in particular the conditions giving rise to the struggle for modernism, the circumstances of the First Vatican Council, the Czech Catholic reform movement and the European modernism movement in relation to the central subject of this thesis, artist Frantisek B lek. Each of the three chapters looks at one...
