Title: The Effect of Kinesiotaping on Postural Stabilization in Patients after ACL Reconstruction Aim: The main aim of the thesis was to evaluate, whether postural stabilization of patients after ACL reconstruction followed by kinesiotaping of the knee joint will be improved or decreased. Also the difference in postural stability of operated and un-operated lower extremity was evaluated. Methods: The thesis included 10 subjects. Each of them was from 4 to 6 weeks after ACL reconstruction, BTB technique. All subjects regularly attended group exercise in CLPA s.r.o. Every subject completed five measurements of postural somatooscilography, before exercise with kinesiotape and without, after exercise completed with kinesiotape, and after five days before and after exercise without kinesiotape. The values were saved by Microswing 6.0 and analyzed by Posturomed Commander. Then the values were evaluated by Microsoft Office Excel and statistic procedures were done by XLSTAT. Results: The measurement confirmed an effect of kinesiotaping on improvement of postural stabilization. Immediately after the application of the tape five out of seven parameters were improved. Postural stability is necessary for all human activities. Management od postural control is provided especially by central nervous system. For management are essential afferent information from vestibular, visual and somatosensory system. Modification of any of these inputs could have influence postural stability. Changes of exteroceptive perception can be achieved by the application of kinesio tape. Kinesiotaping is currently very popular therapeutic method, which is attributed to the wide range of effects. In the theoretical part of this thesis are described these effects, including the results of scientific studies that are engaged in verify the effects. Experimental part of this thesis was focused on the objectification of any changes of postural stability after application of kinesio tape on dorsal and ventral side of the trunk in healthy individuals without injury or other disorders. For the examination were used two tests of Balance Master® System, the modified clinical test of sensory interaction on balance and the test limits of stability. Zuzana Pavelková Branch of study: TVS_B Disertation Tutor: PhDr. Petr Šifta, Ph.D. Year of Defense: 2012 Abstract: The aim of this study was to discover, whether four selected rehabillitation techniques (dry-needling application, cryotherapy, stretching and kinesiotaping) influence the muscle tone of musculus gastrocnemius and musculus soleus. It was assumed, that above mentioned methods decrease the muscle tone of selected muscles, that was increased by previous running performance or owing to acute or chronic problems with Achilles tendon. The muscle tone was measured by myotonometer in Kinesiology laboratory, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at Charles University in Prague; muscle tone of twelve students of thisfaculty was measured. Data were displayed by using an analog- digital convertor and consequently evaluated. The results of this study indicate, that four selected rehabillitation methods influence the muscle tone of musculus gastrocnemius and musculus soleus. Petra Mertová Title: The effect of kinesiotape application on rheological properties of the knee joint with chondromalacia patellae Problem definition: Chondromalacia patellae is a very frequent diagnosis related to knee injuries. Diagnosing chondromalacia is very difficult. Knee arthroscopy is the best method for evaluating the cartilage condition, however this technique is invasive. Kinesiotaping is a therapeutic method extensively used to affect knee pain. Patellar taping is an effective method in improving symptoms resulting from patellofemoral joint problems, nevertheless the evaluation of its effect has not yet been objectively investigated. Aim of the thesis: The aim of this study is firstly to discover the possibility to noninvasively detect chondromalacia patellae using the method of biorheometry and secondly to discover the impact of kinesiotaping on rheological properties of the knee joint with chondromalacia patellae. Method: The designed experiment was performed as a pilot case study using the method of biorheometry. The title of the diploma's thesis: Effect of kinesiotape on range of motion in the flexion of the trunk measured from standing position. Objective/ Aim: The main aim of this work is to evaluate whether the kinesiotape applied to the paravertebral muscles of the lumbar spine affect the range of motion in trunk flexion from standing position. Another aim is to exclude the possibility of a placebo effect by using control material in an identical manner. Methods: The data required for the practical part of this work were obtained on the basis of experimental measurements, where the kinesiotape was applied to the paravertebral muscles of the lumbar spine and it evaluated the change in range of motions in trunk flexion from standing position. The measurements were taken on the basis of the Thomayer and Schober sign. The controll group was measured in a similar way with a material fixomull, which has similar attributes as kinesiotape. Data were analyzed using MS Excel and in a program Gretl. Results: Stastically significant results showing that kinesiotape affects the increase in the trunk flexion motion with the average value of 2,24 cm (t(24) = 2,86, p <0,05) in total and 0,51 cm (t(24) = 0,67, p <0,05) for local effect in the place of use of kinesiotape. Title: The effect of scapular specific kinesio tape on the movement quality of the upper limb. Objectives: The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of specific kinesio tape of shoulder blade on the quality of the movement of the upper limb. Currently, kinesio taping is very popular method in the treatment of myoskeletal diseases. Kinesio taping is mostly used by athletes, however the method becomes one of the common methods in physiotherapist practice. In this diploma thesis, specific method of kinesio taping was used. The method is focused on the facilitation of the lower blade fixators and is frequently used. Positive effect of the method on the position of the shoulder joint is obvious. The movement quality of the upper limb is represented by visual motor skills coordination, which was objectified with selected testing method. The prerequisite is a close relation between the position of the shoulder girdle with the function of the hand. Centred position of the shoulder blade ensured with the fixation of the lower blade fixators allows precise movement of the entire upper limb. Ištirti ir palyginti skirtingų kinezioteipavimo metodikų poveikį blauzdą tiesiančių raumenų jėgos momento variabilumui, su ir be vaizdinės grįžtamosios informacijos, kai kelio sąnarys sulenktas 60º kampu. 2. Vis dažniau yra diskutuojama apie minkštojo įtvaro poveikį nėščiųjų juosmeninės stuburo dalies skausmo mažinimui. Yra skausmo sindromų, būdingų tik moterims. Vienas jų – nėščiųjų juosmens skausmas. Apie 50–80 proc. nėščiųjų vargina juosmens skausmai, kurie dažniausiai prasideda 5–7 nėštumo mėnesį, tačiau skausmai gali prasidėti 8—12 nėštumo savaitę (Samėnienė, 2005). Tikslas. Nustatyti minkštojo įtvaro poveikį nėščiosioms mažinant juosmeninės stuburo dalies skausmą. Objektas. Minkštojo įtvaro poveikis mažinant nėščiųjų juosmeninės stuburo dalies skausmui. Hipotezė. Manome, kad minkštasis įtvaras turės teigiamą poveikį nėščiosioms mažinant juosmeninės stuburo dalies skausmą, kadangi minkštojo įtvaro dėka yra suteikiama atrama ir stabilumas sąnariams ir raumenims netrikdant jų kraujotakos ir nevaržant judesių. There are pain syndromes appropriate just for women. First – pregnant low back pain. About 50—80  pregnant women suffers from low back pain, which normally begins in the 5-7 pregnancy month, however it can start and 8-12 week of pregnant (Samėnienė, 2005). That study main aim was to determine kinesiotaping influence for pregnant women low back pain reduction. Study object was kinesiotaping influence for pregnant women low back pain. Stydy hypothesis: kinesiotaping will have positive effect for preganant women low back pain reduction. Study tasks were: 1. To assess pregnant women low back pain and disability before and after kinesiotaping. 2. To assess pregnant women low back pain influence for living quality before and after kinesiotaping. 3. To assess pregnant women fear of movements (kinesiophobia) before and after kinesiotaping. Study was performed in Lithunians Sports University‘s physical therapy room. In the study participated seven pregnant women who have never suffered from low back pain. In the study were assessed pregnant women low back pain, influence for quality of living, fear of movements. Title: Effect of Kinesio Taping on the functional condition of the musculoskeletal system The concept of the problem: The kinesiotaping method is currently very popular therapeutic method in sport as well as in physiotherapy. Although this method was primarily developed as therapeutic method, there is only a few studies, in which the kinesiotaping method is used on healthy individuals. Objective: The objective of this thesis is to evaluate the immediate effect of applied kinesio tape on changes in the range of motion of the thoracic spine in the sagittal plane on healthy individuals. Methods: The theoretical part deals with summary of the taping method as well as with anatomical and kinesiological aspects of flexion and extension of the thoracic spine. The practical part as an experiment (single blinded controlled trial) is dedicated to the application of kinesio and placebo tape, the way that both tapes were applied was specifically designed for the purpose of this thesis and for specifically selected individuals. For gathering the data and for the evaluation the changes in the range of motion, the index of thoracic spine mobility was used.
