The thesis examines potential sources of currency crisis, banking crisis and twin crisis in a region of Central Europe, Eastern Europe, South-Eastern Europe and Baltics. The text assumes some basic knowledge of the theories of financial crisis and, thus, ommits some relevant details in the theoretical parts. The thesis aids at fading variables, which could signal vurnerability of a country to a curency, banking and twin crisis. In the second chapter we introduce a financial crisis typology. The text also briefly shows the theoretical and empirical studies of the financial crisis and introduces definitions of currency, banking and twin crisis. In the third chapter we identify the periods of financial crisis in the given region. Then we introduce the explanatory variables. In the fourth chapter we estimate logit model to explain the conditional probability of all the three types of financial crisis. In the fifth chapter we estimate the out-of-sample conditional probability of occurring crisis. In the end we discuss the results and possible recommendation for economic policy or investors. We find that some macroeconomic variables are significant when explaining financial crisis. For all three types of financial crisis these variables were significant: Share of total foreign debt to foreign reserves, interest rate differential, excessive credit expansion (its share to GDP).

Práce se zabývá zhodnocením odlišností a podobností finančních (měnových, bankovních) krizí 20. let 20. století v ČSR a 90. let 20. století v ČR a na základě těchto dvou krizových období je cílem vysledovat typické příčiny finančních (měnových, bankovních) krizí v českých zemích ve 20. století, dále potom posoudit, s jakou pravděpodobností mohou tyto vysledované ?typické příčiny? nastat v ČR v souvislosti se vstupem ČR do kurzového režimu ERM II a později po splnění překlenovacího období i do eurozóny.

My diploma thesis deals with crisis management, which is a distinctive field of predictive project management, and of its specific application in the field of education. The aim of the thesis is to define internal threats, specify and analyse risks arising from them, and to describe solution processes with the help of process charts with a model risk nut for teachers from the HSE point of view. The thesis also includes complex overview of legislation which can help to eliminate crisis situations arising from internal threats. In the research part the thesis deals with the occurrence and frequency mapping of possible internal threats and assesses the readiness of school managements to prevent and solve crisis situations. Title: Ice hockey and crisis in the Czech Republic Objectives: Investigate the impact of the current economic crisis on ice hockey in the Czech Republic. Methods: Collect macroeconomic indexes of the Czech Republic and determine the impact of the economic crisis on its economy. Collecting and monitoring of economic indexes of ice hockey teams in the Czech republic before and during crisis. Results: The current global economic crisis affected the economy of the Czech Republic. This crisis affected the Czech ice hockey clubs as well and culminated in 2008 and 2009. The main cause was high dependence on income from sponsors, which constitutes about 70-80% of total income. During the crisis, many companies reduce their sponsorship activities. The thesis analyzes and describes recent global financial and economic crisis, some current economic problems and historical roots of the crisis. First passages of the work characterizes theoretical terms and historic economical crises, recessions and important economical events. Next part of the thesis is focused on events of the recent financial and economic crisis. The work contains description of the problems with financial innovations, rating agency, banks, modern capitalism and prevention of the crisis. The text also presents some new economical legal rules in USA and EU related to financial and economical crisis. Last chapter of the work is focused on the crisis of the European currency EURO and Greek economic situation.

This thesis focuses on political and economic development during the peronist governments. This does not mean just the periods of Perón's rule, but also the governments in the nineties and early in the new millennium. The thesis is divided into three chapters, which are further divided into various subsections. The first part deals with peronist movement and economic and political characteristics of the three J. D. Peron's governments. The second chapter focuses on the Carlos Menem's rule, especially on his neo-liberal reforms. Final section analyzes the causes of economic crisis in Argentina and then describes the course as well. Attention is also paid to postcrises development in both economic and political area.

1 Economic Impact of Central Banking Abstract Aim of the following work is to analyse economic impact of central banking, and it is primarily reaction to loose monetary policies adopted after subprime crisis by most of world's central institutions. In first part, I am focusing on presentation of some historical facts related to formation of central banking and summarizing institutional development of banks in Czech Republic, United States and Japan. Second part is focusing on explanation of theoretical basis on which following critic of central banking is built upon. It is mainly explanation of subjective value theory, time preferences and interest that is inevitable result of existence of production structure. Second part of this section is dedicated to central banking itself, mainly to monetary expansion that has destructive impact on market coordination, conceals market prices and leads to systematical entrepreneur mistakes, that stand on the beginning of every economic crisis. Third part of this work is practical and is divided into three subsections. The topic of my diploma is analysis of debt crisis in California. This one of the most wealthy state in USA has faced serious financial problems from year 2008 and almost fell in bankruptcy. State has a huge debt. At the beginning I will focus on short resume recent economic situation in United States. Rest of the thesis is devoted to situation in the state California. In the fist part is describe development of californian state budget. Next is explanation of main causes of current fiscal problems of California. This thesis also contain evaluation realised solutions these fiscal crisis, designe my own solution and estimate of future fiscal development in California. A part of this work also cover impact of this budget crisis on banking and consumer expenditures. At the end I will draw lesson from this crisis, which is important not only for future of California but also for other countries. The main point of my thesis is if the Califonia now go in the right way and if the solutions of current budget crisis are sufficient.

The thesis deals with access of commercial banks to the lending policy of households and non-financial corporations between 2008 and 2012. Objective of this thesis is to determine the specifics of lending to private entities (especially industrial enterprises) in the Czech Republic in relation to economic development between the years 2008 and 2012. In general, thesis describes lending policy of banks and the theoretical basis of economic development during the financial crisis. Further proceeds with the presentation of statistics development in the Czech Republic, which then compares with the development of the Visegrad Group and development in Germany and Austria. At the end provides a comparison of the factors that affect the access of households and industrial enterprises to obtain loan in the monitored period.
